Best theory as to how someone abandoned this Caddy? And would you buy it knowing what it looked like before?
Have a great New Years everyone! Be sure to check out the Boxing Week sale over at detailgeekautocare.com
I'm on board with your theory. If it was to be repoed, I figure someone finally got tired of hiding it and dropped it off in a random parking lot in a different city.
Very strange someone leaving the car behind. I really hope they didn't come into some trouble and they are alright....
Great transformation, looks brand new 🤩
Can u make videos of extraction and vacuum without music
Do you also clean the roof, seat belts and headliner?
Is that your Cadillac?
My boyfriend thinks I'm weird for watching these kinds of videos. I honestly like cleaning videos and whatnot. It's relaxing to me and helps me calm down when I'm stressed. Thank you and keep it up!
I agree. I watch these to prep me for cleaning my own car from winter crud.
I like watching them too 😊
Its been motivating me to clean the deep soda stain out my cars caroet i wish he would just do lol i need his cleaning line tho all i have is a bissel shampoo thing and a shop vac its does most the job but i need more then a arm and hammer spray bottle from the dollar store for my whole dash
Get a new bf cuz mine watches them with me 😅
I watch them Al the time
It’s crazy how the weather in certain parts of the US and Canada are so hard on vehicles. The constant amount of snow, cold, and salt on the roads make vehicles rust really fast.
Scotland is very much the same. I was a mechanic and the amount of times I had to blowtorch bolts off is beyond counting
Most dealerships offer a rust protection package.
it always amazes me the amount of garbage that people left in their car. Super job bro!!
I feel guilty if I leave my Yeti coffee tumbler i n my vehicle overnight...
Cars almost always reflect the life of their owner... and are good illustrators of what the home will be like...
@@monkeybarmonkeyman I’ve always said if your car is a mess your life is a mess.
@@alexib1984 😂😂
Would you rather have them throw it out the window ? I have been in very clean cars with the owners throwing their garbage out the window .
Yes I’d buy an abandoned caddy but only after YOU had detailed it lol. Another amazing job Mitch! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s amazing how you bring filthy cars back to life great job your awesome
And I'm sure with this one the smell difference must have been night and day. Cigarette smell can be very embedded, until a deep cleaning like this.
That's why when I think my trucks are getting dirty, I just watch his videos and realize exactly how clean mine really are lol.
No *you're breathtaking
His awesome what?
@@AWMJoeyjoejoe Great job your awesome hard work can achieve. lol
You did an amazing job on this Cadillac. I’m definitely a huge fan of the detailed work you do on all of the vehicles you detailed and will definitely place an order for your products. God bless you and keep making these vehicles shine🙏🏾🙌🏾❤️
It hurts my soul to see a cadillac rusted. You did a great job on the car. Wish more people took better care of their cars.
I agree with 100%!
Back in the day owning a Cadillac was a sign you were very successful in business, and even though this is no longer the case they are considered luxury vehicles, I've even had a 97 deville myself a few years ago despite not having a big income, I got quite a few compliments from strangers, but sadly after dads passing things got tough and had to let the caddy go for a small cheap on gas Mazda, and even though it's been a few years now, I miss both dad and driving the deville, maybe one day an opportunity will happen for me to get another in the future...
Glad you were able to breathe new life into this Cadillac, I'm sure the new owner will enjoy it! Great job as always Mitch! 🙂
Does the moisture from the steam and carpet cleaning ever damage or affect the speakers or other electrical components even though the battery is disconnected?
If the cones on the speakers are made from that "cardboard like" material (don't know the actual name for it) I would say it's not a great idea to use steam on them. Or spray them with any liquid.
I have commented on many vids about the amount of liquid used on the carpet, and doors. Yes, will destroy the paper cones of the speakers. And these guys are NOT lazy, I can't figure out why on ones this bad, they don't pull the carpet, because the jute (the padding stuff) under the carpet is not dry when they are done. It can't be. But the visual transformations are awesome.
@@ericingram7864 and under the carpets there are a lot of junction boxes, grounds and bus connections. Had to help a friend with his 5series BMW after a detailing shop soaked everything under the carpet and (not intentionally) made the car do some funky stuff.
Great transformation! What amazes me (too) is the amount of rust on the wheel arches. Is that because of all that nice metal eating salt on your icy roads? My 2009 car is rust free, but we have way more moderate winters.
I like the addition of real time segments and your explanation of what you do and the history of the car.
It’s cool that you can use the steamer and spray cleaner solutions directly onto electrical components like speakers, stereos, power switches etc. I always was scared it would damage the wiring behind the panels with the moisture getting trapped back there. Love your channel! 🤙🏼
I've often thought that. Not just wiring, but speaker cones are PAPER! That with water 😐 but I guess it's OK.
Being in the door they would need to be somewhat weather shielded because they'll be exposed to rain and all sorts when the doors are opened.
Likely no impact for the switches, but the cones from 2012 must be made of paper. Yes, they are stained, but I'm not sure they can cope with steam. I would love to hear Mitch's opinion.
Wow 11 hrs. It looks great as always. I'm glad you showed us how you clean the headlights. It looks really good.
Search "White Details" takes him few days, depending on requirements etc, one of the best pro detailers there is!
A great looking car when all is said and done! You really turned it around for the new owner to get to enjoy it.
Led me to think
Your equipment and the chemicals you use speak for themselves. Plus your talent that is never satisfied makes you the best I've ever seen. I mimic your detail moves now. My family and friends can't believe how good I can detail a car now. Happy New Year Detail Geek!
Your videos inspire me to do a better job with keeping my own car clean.
Same here.
Facts!
A big thank you Detail Geek for all the amazing transformations in 2022 I look forward to seeing lots more of them in 2023 Happy New Year
Be careful using the steamer right up against the dash -- on softer materials, I've discolored/burned off the dye before on a black Highlander dashboard!
Hey Mitch, thanks for all the detail vids this year. I have had a blast watching and getting new ideas for how to clean my own car. Believe it or not this is my go-to-feel-good channel along with Itchyboots. Keep up the great work and looking forward to another year of positive vibes from your channel!
Thank you for yet another awesome transformation to end what has been a big year for you, namely being that you have your new studio built. It feels a real honor to have had a share in watching a part of your life and all the hard work and dedication that you put in to everything that you do along with your awesome detailing work. Hope you manage to have a break and look forward to seeing what you bring us in 2023. All the best, take care 🙂
Phenomenal transformation Mitch. You are truly a miracle worker when it comes to car care.
I’ve enjoyed watching your weekly videos this year. I’m so happy you built your dream studio/shop as well this year. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us in 2023.
Have a safe and blessed New Year’s weekend. See you in 2023.
Phenomenal transformation for sure, especially the trashed interior returning to it's near-original glory. Great job, Mitch! By the way, Happy New Year to you!!
What do you do with roof of the car? It's got to reak of cigarettes as well.
I'm so happy to check out the final slow-mo side to side wash mit action for the year. Looking forward to many side to side videos next year!
It always astounds me to see the difference you make in the cars you work on. Thanks for sharing with us. God bless.
I continue to really enjoy your videos and the transformation of cars l want to wish you a very happy New year and all the very best kind regards Anthony from down under
Just a quick question…I think I remember you using your ozone machine for cars that have smoke. Why didn’t you use it on the Cadillac? Again, just curious! Also, I got three ads for the 2023 Cadillac during this video 🤣 Great job, Mitch!
Maybe he did but just didn't mention? Idk
Yeah, you pretty much have to use an ozone machine to actually get rid of smoke odor... anything else just masks it and it will hit you again later.
Wondering the same thing
Ozone machines work great but are usually used when the smoke is really embedded and most common with cloth seats since those are what absorb most of the smell. The carpets do absorb but when cleaned the way he does it, a lot of the smoke smell gets pulled out. Leather doesn’t absorb the smoke hardly.
Also, when a car has been ozoned some people hate it. It’s hard to explain but think of having literally no smell in the car. And it’s like that for at least a month usually. It’s a very unusual smell.
Hope that helps you guys understand.
@@samgonza1975 ozone is needed to get the smoke smell out of the interior roof lining.
I saved a 2004 Cadillac SRX from the junkyard, and man did it turn out good, Cadillac uses very good quality materials and they bounce back fast, awesome video I always enjoy watching them, keep up the good work!
Bro u r a true legend.you aren't just cleaning cars.you r turning old into gold.god bless u
I see you, extractor thirst trap at 14:30 🤣
Love Cadillac. This was a great transformation. Can’t get over someone abandoning it. Happy New Year!🙂
Happy Friday, last one of 2022, wow! Beautiful work as always Mitch, and happy new year to you 🎉
What about the headliner wouldn't it still smell of smoke ?
Hi Mitch! Great video as usual. Just have a question, won’t the steam and APC affect the electricals on the door panel, i.e. power window switches, speakers, etc.?
I think that's why he unplugs the battery (he says this in other videos. Just started it so not sure if he says it in this. And then probably waits for it to be fully dry
Final Detail of the year! What an amazing ending to the year, cannot wait to see what’s next come the brand new year in 2023! Nice job on the caddy Mitch. I hope you all have a happy new year as well!! 🎉
🥳Happy New Year, Mitch and Mike!
Congratulations on your successes in this past year!
Wishing you every good fortune in the new year!🎉
Just traded in my 2010 CTSV and it broke my heart. I can't imagine being the asshat that abused this car so badly.
The car is 20 years old, and driven on salted, sanded, chemical- sprayed roads in Canada during the winter. Not surprised for rust!
You explain a good description at 15:45. Go, Mitch! 😊❤
Always amazed with your attention to detail and how methodical you are in you process
Hi! I'm a mobile detailer in Atlanta using a Mytee heated extractor as well and I agree, that thing is a huge pain to use in footwells. Generally I don't have time to pull the seats out of client's cars, so I have to do the best I can. Hoping Mytee can come up with a smaller head or I may eventually sell it and go for a steam vacuum (got the idea from Larry Kosilla).
You do amazing work !! You are the reason why I use the Lilly brush to get up dog hair !
I'll never understand the mentality of someone who pays all that money for a vehicle and then trashes it. Thanks for bringing them back to life one by one.
I'm sure you've considered that the one who bought it is not the one who trashed it. Also, he said it was likely a bank repo. If they no longer owned it, then they no longer cared about it.
I tend to keep my vehicles forever, and they're in WAY BETTER SHAPE than this
2005 Chevrolet Suburban
2000 Cadillac Deville
Happy New Year to the amazing car detailer on CZcams Mitch!!
Love the snowy after shots. Great work. Thanks.
Have you ever removed the carpet and cleaned it outside the vehicle? Do you feel it an unnecessary step, or maybe an on case basis?
I'm very glad I chose to pull the carpets on a Suburban I pulled out of a field. The carpets cleaned up 'OK' in the vehicle but, I needed to pull them up a bit to install backup camera wiring and found light to significant rust on the floor pan that needed to be addressed.
Ending the year on a good note caddy went from rags to riches good work there bruh ✊🏿
Man people be the grimest. Lol.
I just love your technique how you clean the floor mats some people just have the pressure washer on high an blast them but you go side to side back to back taking your time getting it done 😍
Happy New Year to you Mitch. What a wonderful job you did on this Cadillac: it looks brand new again.
Surprising amount of rust for an allegedly high end vehicle
a lot of that looks like body damage that wasnt fixed, not from salt..plus if the worthless owner didnt wash it off, ever, it will eat the paint and metal thrtu
Keep in mind this is a Canadian car. Some of it looks like damage, some looks like rock chips that peeled and continued to rust, but the rolled portions of the rear fenders are rusting from the inner edge out, too, which is down to the environment and the quality of the metal and finish from the manufacturer. GM always loved to leave the inner edges of fenders exposed, meaning rust starts there and works outward into the body.
@@matthewbowen5841 I have one Cadillac just the same and it's rusted from the bottom never seen a car like that , GM is notorious for low quality they probably bought their metal from china
I mean they left it abandoned. Lmfao.
"high end"
Hi Mitch. Where are you situated ? Thoroughly impressed with your detailing skills. Wondering if you sell or could provide a link to where you purchased your horse hair detailing brush & cleaning / scrubbing steamer. Also, what would you recommend more, horse hair or boar hair ?
For a general response I believe he lives somewhere in Canada, and as far as the tools he uses they are all listed in the description of each video. Hope that helps a little 😅
Thankyou mitch awesome stream and a happy new year 🎉 👏
Happy new year 2023 and thanks for all the great Videos.
For smokers’ cars, have you ever been requested to “keep the roaches” that you find? Like, do they want them back with the rest of their belongings? 😂
A potheads pet peeve. My sister is like that 🤦🏾♂️
🙄
@@MarloSoBalJr lol, I definitely try to keep all that I find when I detail my car. 😅😂
@@iamreborn3463 did you take my comment the wrong way or something?
That would be weed smokers..dummy..real smokers smoke to the filter and flick them into the streets.
Living in Florida has spoiled me on not seeing cars rust through like that. Overall you brought some of that original Cadillac swagger back to this gentleman's sedan! Well done DG!
This is amazing you actually posted on my birthday yesterday and this turned out to be a great detail. I hope you have a great new year
Looks great, great job and Happy Happy New Year!
I do dream of a Caddy, but not this desperately.
Get a lexus. The cost of ownership is way less. That 3.6l engine in the caddy it trash waiting to break.
Does the steam and the cleaner used on the doors and the interior mess with the electronics in any way?
No
Happy New Year The Detail Geek 🤜🤛
Happy New Year Mitch🥳
Stay healthy and all best wishes in 2023😁
I just couldn't believe people are able to make their car super dirty I guess they just don't have time to clean or there just too lazy
Try living in the rural. Not all vehicles are trashed up, but I plan to put down plastic and fabric over my seats as soon as I can to keep the seats themselves from strong dirtiness and trunk from dirt on it as well. I keep a garbage can in there for garbage and take the garbage out.
Edit: I'm sure many folks do not understand my idea or level of clean, but I'm from the urban where having a dirty car is not something to be proud of.
I understand many rural people farm or do outdoor work, but can still keep a clean car and put stuff down to not let the seats, trunk, floors get dirty.
@@holyexperience1976 hehe I live in rural I live in province here in the Philippines and there's Alot of dirt roads in here but I still able to keep my car clean even my neighbors usually after we drive into mud we just blast the tires with water

This is AMAZING!!! My husband buys cars from the auction, typically in the same condition as this. I wish there was a Detail Geek in my hometown to help us out! I will be purchasing many of your products. Best of luck to you, and thanks for sharing.
I enjoy your thoroughness so much. It is a pleasure to behold. On another note, why are many smokers careless with their cigarette butts? There are people around here who will dump their full ashtrays along the side of the road. I don't understand it.

Bro you're good at your craft you have to be the best auto detailer I ever seen, and I did it for 15 yrs. myself, so I know its hard work. Kudos to you.
Wonderful job as always!❤
I can't believe how relaxing it was to watch a car being cleaned. 😁😅
Love how thorough and detailed your work is.
On a side note...I had a CTS at one point and it was the biggest mechanical nightmare I've ever had to deal with. Ugh.
I came here to find this comment... I just made the last payment on my 2013 and I can testify; it's not a good quality car to own! The dash and door sill material is NOT LEATHER! It melted under my bare arm on a mild 70 degree day, like when you hold a Twix for too long and pull your finger back and the chocolate comes off? I've had a Geo Metro that didn't melt under my skin! The driveshaft bolts sheared off because of poor design and there was no recall. I had to find out the hard way and fix it myself or pay $4000 for the repair with redesigned bolts. Overheating was a continuing saga after replacing all the gaskets, I finally found it was the cooling fan motor that failed and replaced it. Seat squeaks at 25,000 miles sounded like old bed springs. The saving grace about this car is that I can burn 87 octane, but that's nullified by the terrible gas mileage! It's marginally better than a Jeep Wrangler on big tires! I know that because I drove a lifted Wrangler while working on the CTS. The other saving grace is that oil changes are super easy; everything is under the hood; you only have to get under it to drain the oil. 20 minutes to complete. Headlight changes take 1.5 hrs because the entire front fascia has to come off, followed by the headlight pods, and each bulb has a cap with 3 hex head bolts that need to be removed.
They look nice, especially cleaned up, but the quality and workmanship are very much sub-par! I rate the Gen 3 CTS a 3.5/10. Can't wait to get rid of it! It's like rolling the dice every time you drive it, just waiting for what's going to go wrong next!
Same. So many mechanical issues. And the cts is not a cheap car to have in the shop. Think 2 to 3 times what the job would cost on a Camry or maxima.
@@drewbreezy5854 that's the Caddy-Tax! I've become all but certified as a 3rd gen CTS mechanic because I refuse to pay! I got screwed on what was supposed to be a rear main seal replacement on my transmission a few years ago. They got me for $5k after saying the trans had to be rebuilt! Never again!
Mitch- in regards to the floor mats? In many self service car washes, they have a few wall mounted heavy duty clamps that you can put the floor mats on to. Being on the wall, this will a) make it a bit easier for you, since you won't have to stand over them, or bend over them, as they are on the wall, and B) Since they are VERTICAL, the water should drip off them and allow them to dry a LOT faster! Have a good one, and happy new year!
Transformed from ashtray on wheels to amazing. Mitch has once again worked his magic.❤️
HAPPY NEW YEAR MITCH AND MIKE, STAY SAFE AND WARM
Good work bro, keep it up and I appreciate your work
Awesome video!!
Maybe you've showed it in other videos, but I wonder how you go about cleaning the speed/rpm/fuel gauges. I've heard the glass/plastic is very fragile and easily scratched so i wanted to know your way of going about that. I usually just use a microfiber towel to remove dust

I just have to say, I’m so glad you give credit where it’s due. Cadillac is an iconic and deserving name badge and a brand of quality and craftsmanship. Many car companies ride on their name and produce subpar products. Cadillac isn’t innocent of that; they cut some corners in the past. But the CTS is a reminder of their return to concern for the standing of their name and this is a beautiful example. It’s a shame that the previous owner abused and neglected it like they did, but you’ve given this old chap a new lease on life! Great job!!
Well done ! From the general look of this vehicle (rust spots, poor body panel and door alignment, cracked glass, polluted interior, etc) you can tell it has had a hard life of rough use and neglect. Glad to see it get some TLC. Hope it gets some appreciation in its twilight years.
I really like the equipment and the cleaning solution you use, makes your work easier and more efficient.... Awesome work and the passion you put into it.
For a 2012 caddy it was certainly abused! You made it look like luxury car it was made to be!😊
