We watched this tonight and had a blast. And then introduced my lovely wife to the original Roadhouse with Swayze’s Dalton

Ironically, we did the same thing. We watched the new one 1st and thought, "Let me watch the original it's been a long time. Well, the original was definitely better. I just think Hollyweird needs to come up with more original ideas.

Nick & Joseph's commentary chemistry is like listening to Run & DMC at their apex. "The Kelly--Lynch--character..." Their timing is incredible.

I loved the original Roadhouse, and I especially loved Ben Gazzara. He had this really interesting way of playing affable villains, with a sympathetic face and demeanour... you really want to trust him but know you shouldn't. An irreplaceable actor.

I really liked it. I was not expecting too. A very fun movie. It felt like the original Roadhouse but different. Jake G. was fantastic. The cast equally as well. Thank you Joseph and Nick🌹🌹.

This was a surprisingly fun movie. Cheese and Sleeze ridiculousness at its best.

I liked this one but the original is still my jam. The og is corny but its a happy memory from my childhood and Patrick swaze was a stud. And nothing beats the old pull the heart out of the body move.

I wanted to hate this movie cause I love the original road house and Patrick Swayze was perfect in it.. but I liked watching Jake smack box all those dudes 😂 he was funny in it..
Was it just me or was the bar way too nice and normal. Funky quirky bands, lots of normie couples, no one is smoking even on the patio, no drugs, but randomly people trying to kill each other.
As I watched I thought, why would these really talented musicians go play at a bar where the patrons basically try to kill you

Jake doesn’t work for me.. nor does this using the idea of a ufc fighter.. swayze didn’t fight as a sport- he was a professional bodyguard his whole career.. it felt grating to me the whole time
This was definitely better than. The super cheesy cult classic from the 80s. We enjoyed it as a popcorn movie!

What I didn't care for was some of the dialogue was used to just bluntly explain rather simple concepts, that the original did without dialogue. Like the "Your in a western" scene. I also hated that scene where he punched the comical biker in the throat, and gives the "I wasn't afraid of you, I was afraid of what I'd do" speech, as it replaced the far better scene of a crying Dalton carrying the corpse into the river, to push it towards the villain's shore, as his gf looks on in horror. Show don't tell. It's not good camp or melodrama if you do not commit to the scene.

it was sad Connor McGregor was so bad at playing Connor Macgregor..I felt a gun would have solved that problem..

Just watched. I thought it lacked the humor & personality of the original. Just another unnecessary remake.
Even though I like Jake Gyllenhaal Donnie Darko is one of my favorite movies. This remake feels like someone had a h*rd-on for 2 fast 2 furious vibe in Florida. It's just ridiculous. It's as bad as the Red Dawn remake in the Pacific Northwest. 🤓

I was disappointed in this movie. I liked it, but it’s lacking something the original had. The two versions of dalton are total opposites. Mcgregor just reminded me of a crazy leprechaun mixed with popeye the sailor man.

I respectfully disagree, the “1989” original is an excellent movie & far more enjoyable than this weak remake. Not to mention, the bands chosen to play were horrendous along with a ROADHOUSE in Florida🙄. Trust me, there ain’t no real “Roadhouse” in Florida.
I respectfully disagree. The musicians featured are incredible, renowned artists. Also, a quick Google Maps search quickly proves that roadhouse bars do in fact exist in the state of Florida… Not that the location of the movie was the most unbelievable bit of the plot, eh?
