I’m worried that these biopic films are becoming exploitative rather than informative or a celebration of their life. Amy was more than her alcoholism and eating disorder. The music industry, in my opinion, really suffered after Amy passed. There will never be another singer like her. Thank you for reviewing this 🫡
Well Said
👆🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼❤️❤️❤️
It’s hard to produce a comprehensive biopic when you’re trying to please the family. You get watered down movies like Selena and One Love.
Selenas is a classic. Don't start
@@Ddofc yep, classic fiction
Joseph I love it when you say, "Child!" As I've become older I catch myself saying, "Child" or "Child please" quite often.
Whew chile 😂
I liked the documentary you referenced. From what I understand, her father was controlling and he's the person who approved this movie. Thanks for the review!
He didn't like that he was depicted accurately in the documentary, so he did this.
Such a phenomenal talent. Still can't believe she's gone. Thanks for the review and all the best 💜
I caught the Britney reference in your pull quote, Nick. You ain't slick! hahaha
I may disappointed in myself for not getting it????
How your user doesn't have an @
I don't like the casting. I'm sure there is no shortage of Caucasian women pursuing acting or music careers who look like Amy Winehouse. RIP. 2 and a half stars seems generous but Fish Jelly has spoken. Entertaining as always
Saw the trailer for this. Looks like dogshit
“I ain’t no spice girl!” 😂😂😂😂from that line alone I knew it was gonna be crap
@@nickjoy6389the accent is god awful and doesn't make me think of Amy at all. From what I've read, she says the Spice Girl line twice in the film.
Excellent review gentlemen. I was an amy winehouse fan. Being a metal and punk fan. These bio pics need a lot
The Amy documentary that came out a couple of years ago was all i needed. The way she was hounded towards the end by the media was disgusting. Her decline was insanely fast and tragic. Check out the doc if anyone in here hasn't watched it. Thanks guys.
one of my favorite Amy videos on youtube was when she was joined by Prince playing backup on stage .....you don't even see either of them very clearly because there was a fog machine ....but it showed me two musical geniuses rifting in the same realm in spite of any audience .................................I loved when Amy sang with Tony Bennet in real life ,Tony knew she was gifted
If you see(k) Amy...I see what you did there Nick 👏🏿
🖤 you guys. I've been busy w/family but look forward to catching up on your reviews. 🖤
This feels like a cash grab for her dad. Another one... on another note thanks for the rocktasy recipe. Lol I'll let u know if i survive😂
Yep
😮😮😮😮 good luck looks like a good colon cleanser 😂
9:01 "Rockstasy," you drink some crazy sh!t when you're in your 20s 🤣
These biopics have become all formulaically mediocre as the MCU.
I’ve been WAITING for this because I refuse to go see it lol.
Me ❤😂
Who in the heck asked for this movie!? Lord! I saw the trailer for this and it looked bad. I liked Amy Winehouse’s music but I won’t be supporting this. Her life and death was so tragic and this looks like just a way to exploit her legacy and life for someone else’s personal gain and sheer entertainment. SMH!
I love your Carpenters shirt!
For a man who auctioned his daughter's. Underwear after her death, Mitch has been shown as such a caring good dad! This movie left me so frustrated and angry! It's not about Amy! It's been made for Mitch! Nice try, people in the UK know the truth about that man! 😒
just found yals channel and i love hearing yalls opinions on the films you cover, its all very well thought out
The film “Amy” which was more of a documentary was amazing. I loved it so much. I thought it was very informative and really captured all aspects of her life. It also made me cry.
This movie I didn’t like really at all. I am an Amy Winehouse fan and I just thought the whole film was really about her relationship with Blake. As if she had nothing else really important in her life or about her apart from this toxic relationship which controlled every aspect of her life and even death. I think she was a lot more than that and it’s sort of disrespectful to present her life like this
Nooooo is this going to be a really insulting, terrible amy winehouse movie??? Nooooooo she doesnt deserve that
Absolutely agree
Love that you see Barfly! Please consider review old movies too. Sometimes is tiring the flow of new releases.

I once had a 14 year bout with sobriety!! Now I am approx. 5 years back on the wagon! 😅🍻
Congratulations?
It’s funny bc people
Who aren’t amy fans or know a thing about her think this performance is good and close to Amy’s essence and voice and it’s not. Every scene is insane. BLAKE INTRODUCING THE SHANG-RI LAS TO AMY?????? BLAKE NOT INTRODUCING HER TO HEROIN???? BLAKE NOT ALSO BEING PHYSICALLY ABUSIVE???? MITCH BEING A “DOTING” FATHER!!!! THEM GLOSSING OVER HER ED, WHICH WAS AN INTEGRAL PART OF HER LIFE!! WHY SHE STAYED LIVING IN CAMDEN!!!! HER FRIENDS NOT ALSO BEING AN INTEGRAL PART IN HER LIFE??? This film is a myth, a fantasy. It makes me sick the more I think about it. On a side note Jack o Connell and Leslie m are always top game wonderful actors but this movie is trash and disrespectful to Amy’s legacy I cant… ps never miss a review love yall no hate ❤
EDIT- THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR, I FORGOT TO MENTION WAS THERE WAS ALMOST NO MENTION, ALMOST LITTLE TO NONE… ABOUT HOW THE BRITISH PRESS AND PRESS IN GENERAL, BULLIED, STALKED AND ABUSED THIS POOR WOMAN
I won't see this because every fucking rock bio-pic over the last 30 years have truly sucked. They are especially difficult to watch because they always twist / bend / eviscerate the truth to the point of dis-respecting said artist and all of us who are really into those said artists.
To be fair, as a diehard, I'm not mad about the ballet flats. They were FILTHY, blood stains, probably rat shit from the Pete Doherty escapades, the ground...they were bad lol and ew that drink you described made me 🤢
I mean could they have picked someone that looked like her?
I felt this movie had a lot of tell, don’t show. Maybe it was because of wanting to not be voyeuristic about her issues, but it felt hard to connect to the story and understand her struggles when the story tells me what I’m supposed to feel, rather than making me feel it
🎁🆒
I dont fuck with ANY biopic. Once you've seen "The Doors" and "Walk Hard", you seen them all. The Doors invented the biopic and Walk Hard kill it😂😂😂😂EDIT: the Motley Crew biopic is actually good😂
Once you've seen Lady Sings The Blues.. you've seen enough biopics
@@jujutaylor2186omg yesssss ❤
