@STR8187 Yeah, you could always do that. You get your Flashdrive with your music and plug it into 1 of the 3 USB ports. Once that is done, go to the Music menu at the dashboard and it will show your storage devices, your Flash Drive should be there as Portable storage device, and you files should come up and then just select your music and enjoy.
Nice and clear video! Only thing I'm still wondering is: can you use two flash drives from each 16gb at the same time or can you only use 16gb in total? I hope it can work with the xbox 360 slim 4gb, which I'm probably going to buy tommorow, so that I can have more space for demos and savegames.
@THEBURNINGPUNCHX The transfer cable is more for swapping out HDD like if you are going from a 60GB to a 120GB or a 120GB to a 250GB which also transfers over licensing and account information as well. USB is nice but if you have tons of data a transfer cable works best.
@Xavmasterrr1478 yes you can. Click on Gamer Profiles, select the profile you wish to transfer, and move it to your USB
this new usb thing is so awesome i love it i have a 12 gb hard drive and im really running low on space so i bought 16 gb flash drive which is kinda brutal that its bigger than my hard drive but i love it THANK YOU MICROSOFT!!!
@Danoishan Idk about the update, But games and dvds will only beable to work in the xbox 360 if the disc is a Double layered cd.
@TangoAlphaNiner Yes it will. I wouldn't risk it by not having the data backed up on the flash drive first before formatting for the 360.
@Ryansoh12 if you mean by an internet connection. You only need it to get the latest updates for your Xbox 360 to be able to use USB memory sticks

@electromagnetshit You can either go into the same menu options when you create the drive or you can just format on your PC and it will change back. You can also choose to only user a certain percentage of it for your Xbox and the rest for storage.
@bwonedotcom so when i configure it to xbox as soon as i pop it back in my computer i can re configure it back to computer settings?
@MrColby171 From what I saw when I plugged it in. It didn't show the files on the PC. There may be a method but I haven't heard of it yet.
It was hard to hear you say this, but if you customize how much space you want reserved for the 360 will it still clear everything off of the flash drive?
@PeaceDoggyDog Depends on what USB drive you have. if you can configure it (like in the video) then yeah you can.
@MrColby171 yea you can use ur flashdrive to transfer saves ive done it u need either modio or usb xtaf to open up ur saves or profiles.i prefer using usb xtaf.ur stuff only shows up on programs like these.
@OpposedForce99 because the xbox use the usb as a memory stick and uses a software that takes the memory in your usb you can format it and have the memory all back for anything you want
great vid :) one question. If i had 2 xboxes at 2 different locations could i use a 16gb as a "portable hardrive" and simply run the 2 xboxs straight of the usb stick and not the hardrive.and would it make a difference if one xbox is a slim and one is a old " fat xbox"? i would appreicate any responce :)

well i have a question. Im etting a new xbox soon all i have to do is recover my gamertag on my new xbox and put in my flashdrive on my old one to transfer my gamesaves over, and i will have everything set ? Now are achievements with your gamertag ? do you have to transfer them too ?
@lexingtonminutemen12 Yes you can or you can use part of the drive for Xbox and part of it for your computer.
so your saying if i get a 16gb flash drive and use all of it for my xbox360. i cant use if for my computer to transfer games and stuff to my 16 gb flashdrive. or would it just have 16gb for my computer and xbox360.also would i have the same amount of gb to use for my computer for my 16gb flash drive to download stuff to where its at its max for the flash drive[16gb]?
when you use a usb flash can you still use the other options in games like in halo 3 where u can take pics or movies and stuff? or do u need a hard drive?

Hi, i have a question. If I bought a 360 without a hard drive, would a flash drive (16gb) work the same as the 360 hard drive? I want to buy halo reach, but i know i cant play some modes without a hard drive and im wondering if I will be able to use the flash drive as the main HD. Thanks.

@Bobubobme i mean ive got 60gb xbox hard drive and 8gb usb stick and when i go to system settings then memory then plug my usb in, it doesnt show, and i dont know why?

QUESTION. I'm think about getting a xbox 360 arcade and with a usb stick...and if you didn't know the knew arcades have 258mb (i think?) internal memory...is there a way to where when you save your game it will save straight to the usb?

I've got a portable flash drive that is 320gb. I've already got some stuff saved from my computer to my flash drive, but I know I have way more than the maximum 16gb the Xbox 360 can use. If I were to format 16gb of the free space on my flash drive for my Xbox, would my data that I already have saved on the flash drive be affected at all, or will it just ignore it and just pay attention to the free space?
i noticed if you keep the thumb drive in the xbox and turn it on it reformats it, you have to put the thumb drive in after the xbox loads and remove before you turn it off to keep everything on it so it doesn't act like a new one and formatting it.. I am using a 16gb lexar thumb drive and it does say when formatted that its computable so i don't know why it happens. Would getting an official xbox thumb drive work better?

One thing I noticed between the new xbox slim and the older ones (Arcade, Pro, Elite) that the newer xbox slims will only detect your flash drive if it's plugged in to the back. I had it plugged in to the front usb ports and it wouldnt work. Maybe theres something special I would need to do to solve this? (Not that it really mattaers now that I got it working, just curious)

yes u just need to click on the game data and go to move or copy wich ever one u want and then transfer it to the storage device
@bwonedotcom Its all in the menu system on the Xbox 360. Watch the video so you can see where to go in the menu system. Its very simple.

yes because by configuring it u have agreed to use the memory for x-box storage only watch the vidio and look to the right where it says how much space do u want to configure

@Zeosixer As long as you copied the data from your 360 to the pen drive and not "move" it over you should have it in both places.

@chronaz66 well you can play online even if you're playing on a flash drive, it just doesnt take space on your harddrive. see it as a memory card.
But if i play gta and i have my USB plugged in and have stored gta on the usb can i play it or must i have it on my hard drive ? pls respond

I've been having this issue for the longest now. Every time I transfer/copy data or gaming content to the 8GB XBox 360 Scan Disk and go to a friend's house to use it the memory is corrupted. I know licenses usually are for games, not content in which I can share. I have to format it almost every time. Do I have a corrupted disk? I know Scan Disk stays "on" for a few mins. Do I have to wait until the xbox 360 is shut down for a long time until I remove the USB Drive? What Am I doing wrong?

yeah but it says theres like no space, but there actualy is but that space works for xbox 360, and you probably know this but if you re-format on pc it will have all the space back again
@Drumaniac03 I'm not sure how much more we can do outside of what the video shows here. It should work as above. Try another USB stick to see if that works.
need some help. Bought a 4gb pny attache, failed data loss, wiped my 1gb i logic i had lying around, failed data loss...8gb Danelectro i had lying around,Data loss rest failed as well...Whay am i doin wrong? I returned the PNY and bought a sandisk...but is there anything i can do to make sure it passes the data loss test?
