    Just an update in case folks were curious. Within an hour of this happening, the mom came back and the two went on about their day/lives. I've seen them since then, and all is well!

    I ❤❤❤ deer, especially their cute little fawns!
    I agree with the commenter that said he's a beautiful buck!
    I'm glad that his Mom returned! 🙃🌝👌

    Beautiful. They usually, instinctively stay hidden and wait for their mother.

    This is why we dont eat animals they have feelings to! animals are our friends not food :)

    Did the mother reject the fawn because you pet it? We are not supposed to touch them.

      Mom came and got her shortly after I left. Zero issues at all.

      @@bieszczadzkiearchiwa from what I've read, you're right, it's a myth. Fawns are essentially "scent free" at birth and what CAN happen is a human scent that gets on them MAY allow a predator to smell them more easily. But that scent will not cause a mother to reject a fawn.
