And it almost didn't happen. Tim Minear, the 9-1-1 showrunner, initially wanted to pair Buck with Lucy (a firefighter, Buck's former love interest). However, the actress did not available. So, we had this instead😍.
I'm so glad that they focused on the actors' faces in these scenes. They're so good. you can identify all of the emotions happening in their heads from confusion to happiness, to questioning, to security. Great job by all of them. Bucks best line - "I'm free."
At the Cafe, Tommy told Buck that he did not do anything wrong, which means he understood Buck's reaction. He told Buck he only ended the date because he did not think that Buck was ready to be doing this, and he did not want to add pressure to Buck. I think that was kind and understanding on Tommy's part. I"m looking forward to seeing where these two go. The CRINGEWORTHY reaction in all of this was Buck''s parents when they saw the soot on Buck's mouth at the wedding. Looking at their reaction I would say that Buck's coming out is not going to go well with them. No surprise there of course.
i love this comment section. so many people keep on hoping for eddie and buck but tommy and buck have so much chemistry! i really hope they’ll be endgame
@@feuerfliegerExactly. We need representation of platonic relationships between MEN which are deep into personal level, but do not turn romantic. I never find one on TV. Even in The Big Bang Theory, the men are kinda joking and being goofy most of the times. The only personal issue they discuss with each other is about women. And when they face non-romantic personal issues, they turn to their spouses, not their friends. Which is not wrong. But, it's not the representation that I meant.
I like Tommy but I don’t like the fact that he didn’t understand that buck was put on the spot when Eddie came over to the table in the middle of the date and he didn’t know what to say. Eddie is buck’s best friend and he still hadn’t came out and it’s not like he could just spring it on Eddie it would not be authentic to their friendship
He understood that perfectly. He didn't say anything that could have potentially outed Buck. However Buck's line about going and finding hot chicks afterwards was so damn cringe and unnecessary and still Tommy didn't react. He is so mature about giving Buck space and time to come to terms with himself. The writing and the acting of everyone is unbelievable. There never was a show where I absolutely loved every single character, but this is the one. I freaking love everyone, even the extras that come and go. The casting director is some kind of a wizard genius.
Tommy understood that Buck wasn't ready to come out to Eddie or to anyone. That's why he left Buck, not because he was insulted or anything like that, but instead to give Buck the time to reassess his own situation and to fully know where he stood in terms of him having a same-sex relationship.
@@homunculi0408 exactly! Thank god the writers decided to pair Buck with a guy that is completely out and doesn't have any sort of hangups about being gay. That would have been so annoying. We've seen that way too many times already. Tommy is just amazing with Buck. I really hope they're endgame. I don't want Buck to get hurt anymore.
I want them to be endgame so bad. They took such a gamble by pairing off these two and I’m so glad they have chemistry!
Me too! I hope tevan last forever!

Tommy didn't do anything bad.
He just stood up for himself because Buck was cringe af!
I am still a buddie shipper but I think that Tommy is ok for buck's first boyfriend
