It's an interesting idea, but Weiss and Benioff are not the people I'd trust to make that. Or any Star Wars for that matter.
Or any important entertainment ever again, for that matter
As far as titles go: Dawn of the Jedi > The First Jedi

I think The First Jedi goes harder as a title. Dawn of the Jedi’s fine, but The First Jedi……now you can just feel the weight of that moment in the Star Wars galaxy. The very beginning of all the legends and stories, adventures, and epic grand fantasy that Star Wars ultimately is(least half of it lol).
I’d love to see Mangold’s movie, but after Dial of Destiny flopped at the box office, I just don’t see it happening. They’re weirdly strict about any kind of movie they want to make, and years and years can go by before it eventually gets cancelled or “delayed indefinitely.”
I would cast the first Jedi with Christian Bale who already said he wanted to be in SW.
He has that vulnerability, fear, and weight you'd need for a role like that where one would first be discovering and wielding this new unknown power.
He also has that ambiguous quality where you wouldn't know if he'd use his newfound powers for good or evil. It'd be compelling to see if the same person who gave rise to the Jedi also birthed their arch-nemesis in the Sith.
Obviously it would have been a woman 😂
Beyond thinking some things are batter not told because of the demage of disappointment it seems to me that the only one that should be allowed to handle such a core aspect of th mythos should be George himself, even if out of respect.
With how Benioff and Weiss handled the last season of Game of Thrones, I'm quite glad that they didn't get a Star Wars movie.
I liked the Legends version of how the Je'Daii order began.
They're doing the Three Body Problem over at Netflix, right?
I wouldve like to see a 60s style epic bibical story of the early years of Jedi.
Imagine if the first jedi's name was something like jed dai. 😂
On this topic I really wish they would stop prematurely announcing these projects.

Of course things are always going to change behind the scenes, but annoucining so much without any follow up can only kill interest since any one of these projects seem like they could be cancelled at any time
I think Mangold's movie will just be this one but slightly altered with his ideas (like when they took Boba Fett and Obi-Wan's movie plans and converted them into Mando, BoBF, Obi-Wan Kenobi etc.
Personally, I think The First Jedi would be a great title:

I’ve always been interested in how the Jedi started and how they discovered the Force. It’s shown that even the strongest Force users need training to do anything. Whoever just figured it out on their own must be pretty cool.
They still could have called it The First Jedi. But also this sounds a loooot like Dawn of the Jedi.

This is something would work better as a show. It needs to be gradual and slow of these people discovering the connection to the force.
I haven’t watched the video, I’m not looking forward to anything that comes out that’s Star Wars anymore. The only thing I want now is the original theatrical cut on blu-ray. Only reason i make this statement is I am curious if there are any other Star Wars fans that feel the same as I do?
Such an uninspired idea. Just the fact that they wanted the first Jedi to immediatley have a lightsaber... I can almost see the cringe of the scene when they ignite it for the first time...
Cultures like the Jedi aren't built within a month or a year. They develop over centuries. And they wouldn't have valued a weapon very much at first. Mytholigy builds over time. A katana was just a random sword at some point in history. No one cares about the first katana and no one cares about the first lightsaber.
If they were to do a first jedi story, I want to see a true spinoff from that. A new era. Alot of stuff we get comes from the High republic era, so its time to switch it up
We didn't want the to make the first Jedi, we wanted them to make the ninth Game of Thrones, instead of a half-baked final season.
The first Jedi wouldn't get any "Jedi training" and would thus be labelled a "Mary-Sue" by the die-hards, lol.
BS reasoning, it was definitely the last season of game of thrones that caused this especially since we're getting this movie anyways
The more *Game of Thrones* ran short of original finished material from GRRM and started to lean on his “notes” (which are more like “post-notes”), the more the characters and story arcs lost focus and it was like “here’s a good archetype, which actor would look cool as that this episode”. TBF the same thing is true of *Attack of the Clones* which is such an unfocused mess of a movie that it was easy to base a decade worth of TV on just untangling it.

I really doubt it will happen at this point regardless on if you like the movie or not you can’t deny the damage the last Jedi did to the brand brining Rian Johnson back would not be a wise choice
Those guys can’t tell a story without having a source to pull from…once they surpassed the fire and ice books, they showed they aren’t good writers…worst, they rushed the last season of GOT so they can go off to do Star Wars…disrespecting the GOT IP. I’m glad these guys aren’t touching Star Wars.

I'm not sure Benioff and Weiss had the chops to make a good movie. The way GoT ended was enough for Disney to pull the plug on this project.
