You guys are tops on CZcams...Because of your thorough video on the CX-3 I bought one and you guys were right 100%
Thank you so much! We really love to hear that!!
@Xander Marco it is obvious that you and *Marcellus Luka* are the same idiot. Take your spam and scam some place else
Mazda CX5 is a much better buy than the competition when you are looking for driving dynamic, premium interior, best NVH and built quality. But if you are looking for roominess go for competition.
This is simply the best in this class👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🏎🏎🏎
The Signature trims of the 6, CX5 and CX9 are all punching above their class and price. The interiors are really surprising when you first sit in it, felt as nice as the lower tiers of the luxury competition that are thousands more.
Best in class that's it that's all.
Well done boys. You give me hope for the future!
Very good looking crossover
I always find your reviews designed for a potential buyer and very detailed. Always well presented. Thanks from this 71 year old.
You're very welcome! Glad to hear they're helpful for ya!
Hi guys. I shared your video with my Boss. She purchased this car over the weekend. Red such a Beautiful colors. Thank you so much for sharing
That's awesome! Glad everyone found the video helpful!
Took ownership of a UK spec cx5 2.0 sport nav+ auto 165bhp in Snowflake white on 1/3/19.
The good points: Extremely well put together cabin and quality trim, puts me in mind of BMW & Mercedes. Seat leather is of a good quality and seats are supportive and comfortable. Road noise is good for class and a lot better than the Honda CRV and Peugeot 3008. The Bose sound system is very good and has a large subwoofer in the floor lining of the boot. I also appreciate having a cd player, not everyone wants to buy down loads of an album they have probably bought umpteen times before! Cabin space is sufficient and rear leg room is fine for us (sub 6ft) The external styling is beautiful, not too in your face, I would describe it as classy and a cut above its competitors. Boot space is adequate but not class leading. MPG is around 35 with a mix of around town and a small amount of motorway.
Bad points: 0-60mph is slooow, very under powered in my opinion, the car does not feel like a 2.0 the accelerator peddle takes some pushing down and nothing seems to happen. The auto gear box struggles to select the right gear if you try to pull away fast, 6 gears is just not enough which leads to a jerky change at times and holds on to the gear slightly too long. The satnav is poor with graphics that are basic and years out of date, honestly you can buy a plug in that gives better quality and features. One last gripe, the petrol engine noise can only be described as a whine, it reminds me of a fake electric engine noise.
Overall I would give this car 6.5 out of 10. A lovely looking car, quality interior but the drive fails to deliver.
I have owned and driven many Mazda products and they have all been really fun to drive. ZOOM ZOOM. Great review again guys. And this car has a very distinctive and conspicuous design that stands out. And look, a review without rain !!
Haha right!?! I forgot what the sun looked like for a while! 😂
Currently have a 14 mazda6 has only 2 months now but I’m considering getting a cx5 why because I’m ready for a lil truck i love the styling and the look of this i just love everything about it but the 18 mazda6 is on my on my mind as well i just love Mazda overall great company.
I purchased this car last week. Love the way it drives and looked. Thank you so much for the information.
Congrats on your new CX-5! What color did you choose?
@@CarConfections white I pay $200 more for the color
currently have a 2018 cx-5..can't wait to get the turbo cx-5 in the future ;)
I love how he gives us a sound test from the speakers.
The cx5 is the best in class
Ok, it's official, I think I'm starting to live for these reviews now, lol! Anyways, I came so close to buying this SUV, even got as close as signing the papers and all but it just wasn't the right time. I'm still attracted to the dimensions of this vehicle, and I'm happy to see they put in a turbo. However, I would like to see a little more bolstering in the front seats.
Haha 😂 ! But yes it is a great little SUV that is surprising fun to drive
Nice review
377th view, 44th like and 19th comment!! And this one of my favorite vehicles!!
Mazda has certainly ticked a lot of boxes, great review.
Thanks!
Yay it's out!
I just bought a Mazda CX-5 2019 Sport AWD with the I Activesence package. Would it be possible if you did a review on it?
Very helpful and thorough review -- good job guys!
Awesome! Glad you liked it!
Great video guys!!! I love the 2019 Mazda CX-5 Turbo!!! It's very sexy and sharp and fast with the turbo engine!!!! Yall should do a review on the Tesla Model 3 and the Jaguar I pace! Those are cool electric cars! I can't wait for y'all next video.
Yeah we are wanting to review more electric cars! We just don't have too many of them around in KY
Helllo
@@CarConfections ok we don't have to many around Memphis either!!!!
Great review as always.
Thanks!
Great review, as always!😸
🐾
What's better Mazda CX-5 or Cx9 one of them is heavy but spacious any idea
Thank you so much. Two brother are so handsome and very smart.
Glad you enjoyed!
It’s crazy how some car brand charges for the paint color!!
Had a 2015 rav4 limited. Actually it was my wifes car that got dumped on me because she moved on to a luxury brand. I got bored of driving it around and the 2019 design caught my eye. Went for a test drive of the limited and was very disappointed. Except a little bit of power upgrade and interior tweaks not much has changed. Same boring steering and the engine and road noise is actually louder than my 2015 limited. Almost 40 grand car but does not even have illuminated power window buttons (only the driver window button is illuminated). Good luck fishing for the mirror adjustment button at night. Went to test drive the CX5 GTR and told them to take my money immediately. If you want your smile of the day go test drive the turbo. Puts one on my face everyday now.
Smart title!
I want one.
Some blacked out rims would look sick!
For the touring trim, its quite blacked out
best engine 2019 big power
Should've done suspension and body enhancements for turbo. You are paying nearly $40k and get the car that looks exactly as base model
Thank you for an incisive and complete review. You guys may be "young whippersnappers" but you know your business.
My new 2019 MAZDA CX 5 GT Reserve (Red Crystal Soul) is SO enjoyable to drive, whether around town or on a road trip. Great build quality/reliability (Consumer Reports rated "much better than average"), great styling inside and outside, plenty of power and such a beautiful body design. MAZDA NAILED IT!
As a comparison to "luxury" compact SUV brands one must ask, "Why am I paying so much for this BMW or Mercedes?" And the answer is you need a prestige badge to salve your insecurities.
** The best example of this skewed price v.s. value comparison is the MAZDA CX 5 Signature v.s. the 2020 Land Rover/Range Rover EVOQUE.
MAZDA CX 5 Signature-> $38,500., 0 - 60 at 6.4 sec., reliability is "much BETTER than average", STYLING -> beautifully understated elegance
Range Rover EVOQUE-> $76,190., 0 - 60 at 6.6 sec., reliability is "much WORSE than average", STYLING -> high automotive fashion
What do I want improved for the CX 5? (1.) 8 speed transmission for a lower low gear soft-road ability and higher 8th gear for better cruising mileage
(2.) about 4 inches longer trunk for more interior space and a better profile.
(3.) softer seats with more thigh support THAT'S IT!
My Kia Soul Exclaim came with Napa leather.
Going to get the 2019 CX-5 Signature in May.... any colour suggestions? I'm torn between the snowflake white pearl and machine grey... I would have considered black if it weren't for all the dings and scratches that would be made more visible :/
I think you're right about black. I have a black car and have those problems. I'm also usually not a fan of gray, but in this case Mazda makes a very nice looking hue! My personal favorites are Deep Crystal Blue and Soul Red. Good luck choosing!
E a propósito quando vocês vão fazer o review do ford Explorer Platinum ou limited 2019 ... Vê aí que vai encher de inscritos no seu canal muito bom estou divulgando bastante ele aqui ... Abraços ...
Not everyone wants (or can afford) to spend 40K on an SUV. Most CX5 reviews I've seen are for the upper trim level turbo models. How about a good review and road test of a model with the normally aspirated 2.5 engine?
no need, plenty of them on youtube. Also go on FB and look up the cx-5 group. Great, reliable car.
Do a 2019 Toyota Rav4 Vs 2019 Mazda Cx-5 Turbo please!!!!!!!!!!!
I second this!!!
We might be able to work that in...
Sitting in both, the RAV4 interior is far below this
@@CarConfections vs Subaru forrester?
Welp I love Mazda because, the cruise control setup is better than Toyota’s, second cheaper than Audi even though they are pretty just like Audi, last I love the sounds of the car plus technology.
Were you driving on regular or premium gas for maximum hp?
I believe it was regular gas
Yeah, what we have here in both the MAZDA CX 5 Grand Touring Reserve and Signature models are TRUE luxury compact SUVs by any standards other than price.
STYLING-> stands up well to ANY luxury SUV - period.
POWER-> 0 - 60 times of 6.4 seconds mean it is faster than some "luxury" SUVs like the WAY overpriced Range Rover Evoque.
INTERIOR-> Very "upscale" in design, materials and fit and finish
FEATURES-> Items like steerable headlights, heads up dash and GPS info., heated and cooled front seats, Apple Car Play and Android Auto and a full array safety sensors, very good steering feel and handling plus a 5 star crash rating.
I'm very happy with my hot and classy 2019 GT Reserve and even happier to see that Consumer Reports gave MAZDA an overall reliability rating second only to Lexus.
comparison: The Range Rover Evoque is slower than the CX 5 GTR and Signature, is rated "Much Less Reliable" by Consumer Reports AND it costs $87,000.+! Jus' sayin'...
is the fuel door locked or is it a push to open because a non locked fuel door is a huge no for me because i dont want anybody trying to syphon my gas or vandalize by putting sugar
Interesting that you say the CX-5 at ~$40k this feels like a luxury car. Luxury SUV's start in the low-mid 30's... so you'd expect that in a $40k car, no? At this price, wouldn't it be competing with the Lexus NX? I recently drove one, as I'm looking for a car for my mom and it felt pretty awesome.
Great review by the way, I'm so glad you guys mention what you get in each trim level - I hate that most reviewers just get the top trim and tell you how awesome it is - even if it's not what most people will be buying.
Thanks! That is true about the luxury SUV's. What I was mostly thinking about was the new RAV4 which can hit $40k when fully equipped, without any kind of upgraded engine. There is a lot of overlap nowadays
AWD Lexus NX starts at $37,800 MSRP without as much safety features and convenience features such as heated seats, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, folding mirrors, front/rear sensors, 360 surround camera, etc... Add those packages into the NX and the prices ballon to $45K or more. The CX5 Signature has so much for $38K + tax or about $42K with tax in my state.
@@volatilememory9338 Good points. You're right, there's a premium, but not as much as MSRP would suggest. There's more markup built into the Lexus and the Mazda sells close to MSRP according to TrueCar
There are of course things that work in Lexus' favor as well, such as better warranty, market leading reliability, owning a "luxury brand" instead of something that looks like every other $24k CX-5 on the road. Besides, the NX 300 has features the CX-5 doesn't have, but we'd be nit-picking what's important to the individual.
Just out of curiosity, have you driven both cars? I haven't driven the CX-5 yet, but my co-worker told me it was very loud when he drove it.
BROis Loud compared to what? According to a major publication (Car&Driver or Road&Track, I am not sure), it’s quieter than a Mercedes GLC.
Just bought a Signature at a little below dealer cost....the red one. I think they had too many on the lot and have to move them out.
Well, congrats! Sounds like you got a killer deal on an awesome CUV! It's our favorite in the segment!
I need help!!! What do you suggest? The CX 5 signature turbo 2019 or the CX 9 base trim 2019???? Thanks
Well this decision would ultimately come down to space vs. luxury features. While the Sport CX-9 is well equipped, it will be missing a lot of features versus the fully-loaded CX-5. Also worth considering is that they both have the same turbo engine but the '9 is much heavier and therefore slower. Hopefully this helps!
@@CarConfections Thanks a lot!
Great video guys!!!
Can you make a video comparison of the new Honda Passport and the new Honda Pilot?
Maybe when it comes out!
Hi there. I have a question for you. Are Nissan build in Japan? Infiniti are built in Japan?
She of them are and some are built in the U.S
The Ford Escape has a 2 liter turbo
How do these turbo charged engines hold up beyond 100k miles?
I am no expert by any means but my feeling is that Mazda uses Turbo safely. That's a 2.5 L engine putting out 227 HP versus others using 1.5 L to deliver 190 HP or 2.0 L to push at 260 HP. But again, this is just an assumption. Only time will tell.
The engines themselves should be fine with regular maintenance. Almost all modern turbo engines are built to handle the boost. I would really just worry about the turbo itself wearing out over time. But you do have to be much more stringent on keeping the oil changed. I do fully understand your concern though.
And as far as this engine goes, it's still too early to know for sure.
but why is there a Lexus branded water bottle in the driver's door? ;)
This 2019 cx5 turbo is nice. Better then the crv touring 1.5 turbo. The engine is just way too small for a car that size.
Is this the gas version with turbo?
Yes
Mazda CX-5 is more luxurious but the Rav 4 will probably last longer. I would definitely lease this. Great Review!!
Thanks!
Based on all the opinions I've read, Mazda is known for its reliability. Personally I own a 2018 cx9 and haven't driven it enough to test that yet but it's doing well so far.
I do not appreciate dealer plate frames or especially a dealer name applique. I would have them remove the applique. They are not paying my
I would like to buy it but with a different engine 2.0/163 hp is it enough for cx5 someone can recommend me
I had the 2014 GT with the 2.5 NA and it was more than adequate. I think you can get it in the touring trim level.
@@Flash363 tnx
Are Mazda build in Japan?
Yes all of them are for now, that is until their new factory opens in Alabama next year
Why they got to keep that small moonroof up there? Perfect car otherwise for me.
11:50 Lexus bottle!
Forgot about that...sharp eye!
Such a shame, I love the exterior so much, but test driving I was not impressed. Quality of materials even on grand touring and signature looked and felt cheap, and the seats were rock hard
But are they reliable ???
That's my concern as well. How does this vehicle hold up beyond 100k miles.
Well, for a close comparison you can look at the previous CX-9 for reliability. It had the 2.5T when it came out.
How's the reliability? You didn't show under the hood!
Very reliable.
Mazdas typically hold up pretty well but time will tell with the new turbo
I don’t know about the turbo engine, as it is new in this car.According to Consumer Reports, the non-turbo CX5 is more reliable than the CRV.
@@bill7481 I think CRV and Mazda Cx-5 are both pretty reliable. Not less than another. It's just Mazda Cx-5 looks sharper than CRV and less boring.
Don't buy the CRV 1.5 L Turbo. Pleagued with oil delution issues. Opt for the 2.4 L NA if you go with Honda.
Honda passport smokes this in every category.
The Passport doesn’t compete with this. Lol
Sure does if you go buy the price. Turbo Mazda starts at $34,870. Base model CX-5 gets smoked buy Toyota Rav4 and Honda CR-V. If you go with the upscale CX-5 then it competes against anybody in the same price range.
Bern on Cars I watch you videos keep up the good work
It competes with sporty off road Crossovers with the 4Runner and Nissan Murano
They are not in the same class, but I have to agree with you. At this price point, I'll take the Passport over this turbo CX-5 any day.
But can I fit 3 car seats across? Lol
mazdas all look the same and yet its not a bmw or mercedez.. its a good look but exploited too much for a mainstream brand
Since when is $40 grand rav4 money?
Check the RAV4 2019 prices
@@CarConfections I did. You can get a hybrid for under$29k
Mazda is great. Mazda EU is NOT.... no 2.5T signature released....
while all other brands have higher-powered SUVs here... TOTAL FAIL by Mazda EU...
Is that looking at torque as well?
First
$40,000 Signature and only 6 speakers??? WTF! Can get better on any other SUV
40K??? 6 speakers??? What are you talking about???
My brother just bought the top trim 2019 CX-5 Signature. 10 speaker Bose system that sounds just fine and out the door for 36K. It buried every other vehicle in it's class in just about every department except interior cargo capacity and he looked at them all.
It's direct competitors, in their top trim levels are just as pricey (or higher), with no option for an engine, let alone driving dynamic that won't put you to sleep on a drive around the block.
Please don’t turn the wheel while stationary, really upsetting
The rav4 is better. Toyota is the best
Ivanov Preslav in your dreams.
Rainy Sunday good lucky with reliability issues, lower build quality and low resale value
@@ivanovpreslav7417
Is that why Toyota is having Mazda build most of their Yaris models? 😏
Yes, Toyota does have better resale value. But there's no evidence whatsoever regarding lower build quality or reliability issue.
Personally, I would take a CX-5 than the boring Rav4 though the 2019 Rav4 is pretty interesting.
Lohan S yes because toyota wants to focus on their most important cars. The yaris is not that important that is why they let mazda do it. And mazda have a lot of issues with their automatic transmissions and skyactive engines
@@ivanovpreslav7417
Could you provide a source please? I never heard of any such on Mazda owner forums. Besides, if you search for Toyota engine problems, there are several pages of complaints and news on engine recalls. That doesn't make Toyota unreliable. In fact Toyota is still ranked #1 by consumer reports.
