@@jewelwright8328 kinda, once, but there weren't really any actual crab payoffs so much as it was just a high toughness matters deck that happened to contain a lot of crabs.

I love how the one ring combo philosophy is “I don’t have to worry about damage if I win before my next turn”
I like to think there is a special place in hell for whoever first created Paradox Engine

Oh my beloved paradox engine combo…this was my pet deck back in kaladesh standard
The One Ring is so strong! It seems to make a lot of decks better, but I've especially enjoyed adding it to one of my favorite pet decks, mono blue Nyx Lotus combo. Like Paradox Engine, it too is already built to repeatedly untap artifacts, making it a natural inclusion. You can choose to untap Lotus for more mana, or untap Ring to draw more action.
Coll deck, this would be a good one to update for timeless

Maybe they should've added something like "A deck may only contain one copy of The One Ring'' so it's more in line with the paper version, being able to loop them so easily seems really broken! lol
a haste artifact in sd could enable your companions mana ability and generate mana a turn early in some situations
spewing all the Emrys in Match 4 was bewildering.
If they ever found something like Skysovereign I wouldn't get another chance to use Emry.
So while it may have seemed wasteful it was potentially my last chance to dig for Paradox Engine.
This was a really fun deck to watch go off.
Arena makes paradox engine lines a lot quicker, due to automaticity. This reminds me of what a relief it was when it was banned in paper commander. Those combo turns can be so tedious.
Feels like Jace (I think unraveler of secrets? The one with the win on decking passive) would be a good one or two of in this deck as an alt win con.
Strixhaven stadium would also be another wincon
Usually we get there faster with Reservoir and we don't need to play it in the main deck thanks to Karn, so there's no risk of milling our only win condition.
@@LegenVD maybe, I still feel like you got close enough to it being a problem that having like one of might be a good idea. Would also provide some variety in win con if they happen to have an answer to the reservoir somehow.
@@nop2774 An opposing Karn shutting down artifacts would be the main concern, but can take it out with Skysovereign or Leveler. Having Emry to loop back our win condition is also quite relevant.

aetherflux reservoir is the wincon of choice because u can just get it with karn if u need to and you want to be running karn in an artifact deck anyways. but yea u can do selfmill wincon if u want

Also another reason not to play any of the above mentioned cards, is that we do not want to draw do nothing cards, before we combo of. And after we comboed of it does not longer matter.

With the Karns for fetching, the infinite mana, and the already ridiculous challenge not to run out of time, I added one Secret Door in the main and another in the sideboard as an alternative wincon. Why just play Lord of the Rings in your Magic the Gathering deck when you can play Dungeons and Dragons too. Magic Dungeon Lord and the Gathering of the Dragon Rings is a thing, right? Well it is now.

Paradox Engine really should be banned in every format. Especially Arena where combos are more strenuous to do

Wasn't the point is to reset the one ring counter with legend rule?
The deck is already consistent without the Mirror Box. Also, with the Engine, legendary rule is kinda redundant as long as you have Emry on the board.
