You're like a carnival game operator. "Let's spin the wheel to see what you get! Oh no! You get nothing, what a shame! Try again!"
Let's go gambling!
Aw dang it
I appreciate that you add the card images that you reference on the side so everyone knows what, for example, spell pierce is, very helpful
LMFAO imagine getting off work to enjoy some magic and running into this deck
GG go next I guess
Nah I live for this. That's why I have a single copy of Mistveil plains so I'll never mill out.
I like how your opponent started casting spells again in game 1. They already knew they were locked, but wanted to rage against the machine
Do not go quiet into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
@@jonaderjona5805I love that poem so much. I first came across it in Interstellar.
@@jonaderjona5805cant believe id see this quote here
Gotta make ur dailies 😅
@@ScornfulEg0tist "Fck you, I won't do what you tell me"😂😂😂
"We can also symmetrically lock both players out of the game"
Finally, Magic as Richard Garfield intended😌
consider how much stax and stasis effects mtg had in the past it is indeed as Richard Garfield intended 😉
Natural ennemy of this deck ?
Eldrazies, with their effects on cast.
They really came from another world.
Luckily there aren't too many in Explorer.
LVD is the only creator I know who makes jank decks that actually win instead of just showcasing a gimmick and sucking
Against the Odds does win occasionally
The title 💀
Boros softlock control. There's a new combination of words that I never would've thought would go together.
these video titles are getting more and more unhinged
LegenVD going through his jonkler arc
Finally high noon made it in deck
With SO many "cast from exile effects" I could see an addition of the Boros Pia as a possible beat down win con with the thopters!!
Would probably benefit the opponent to have Pia 😂
@@LegenVD LOL that's true too! It would result in thopters colliding into each other xD
@@LegenVD how you will benefit the opponent to have Pia?
@@alexanderkraken7920 If they control Pia there's a lot of spells they can cast from exile thanks to our deck, assuming we don't control Magistrate.
I remember playing against possibility storm in a paper game of commander.
It was tricky to understand at first, but once I got the hang of it, the card added a bit of much needed variety to the game. I recommend adding it to a commander deck just to throw a wrinkle into the mix, especially if you run creature heavy decks
EVIL LUCA IS BACK, BABY!! 🔥🤘😂
LegenVD, you are such an incredibly talented deck builder. Ive never seen anyone who can take a silly gimmick like you and turn it into a competitively viable deck with an incredible amount of synergy. Easiest subscribe of my life
Thanks LVD for this new and weird deck!
new?
@@computerwaste5950 never saw this interaction before
Been working on a mono-white sort of version of this that's more soft prison deck. Has Eldrazi Displacer to repeatedly bounce Aven Interrupter.
Pretty hilarious deck. Thanks man. Good work as usual.
I like that this deck has a pretty reasonable tempo fallback plan to still retain proactivity even without the focal lock (unlike some nearly winconless stax decks I've seen)
That sentence gave me full blown aids.
This looks like hell to play against. Thanks man. Lol.
Your titles always make me smile, brilliant stuff
Looks like a fun list
holding priority before being dealt lethal to explain how you could have won is probably the most CZcamsr move ever lmao.
Wow this deck is gnarly
One other consideration for these types of decks is trying to have win conditions that can be cast from graveyard since possibility storm only stops things cast from hand. It's only a minor gain but I remember years ago playing lingering souls and things like that in a modern brew I was playing.
very interesting deck.
In your opponent's end step, use reflection to copy itself. Then use that reflection to copy itself. Repeat once for each open mana. Then untap them all on your turn and attack or if you have a better creature on the board, have them all copy that creature and attack with it.
Reflection can't copy itself. You're thinking of the trick where you control two different copies.
Can cast Doomskar through the lock if you need to deploy your combo before you have a wincon in play. Really powerful shell, can go pure combo, more aggressive, more controlling. Love this interaction :)
These evil combos are my favorites.
notably urabrask (new cappena one) also works here, just a little different. because you can still cast spells, but they still have the spells they already had in hand.
I've featured it in a previous build of this archetype, but It's a bit of a nonbo with Possibility Storm (they can still casts spells through the lock if they're exiled) so it didn't make the cut here.
The irony of saying "no fun allowed" when your opponent messes up your plan with hand rip.
Seems like you could use beneficial cycling/madness effects to bypass the effect on Possibility Storm lockout.
There’s not too many of those in Explorer.
oh yeah i remember a storm deck today. he tried to exchange thopters for 0. and got another thopters for it. good for me i played mono green ramp xD poor guy
If the namesake card didn't come up from one of the designers being a nerd for ORV, Idk what else it would be.
35:27 You don't have to kill both Stitcher's Suppliers here if you want to prevent the opponent from milling more cards. With "Auto Assign Combat Damage" turned off in the settings, you can assign 2 damage to the first Supplier.
Was fine with taking them both out since we had answers to the combo. Definitely remember doing that in the Shambling Ghast days.
I love playing this, especially when I cast a spell after my opponent had their spells fizzle 😂😂😂😂 Scoooooop
Wish you a nice humbday; I know we do our week how we want but still. :)
At 28:50, do you ever not attack with the Spellbinder to hold off the sheoldred (if only for a turn). Yes they know about your 2 damage effects, but like you said a little later, it's not a race you are winning, and 4 life mattered a lot in that game.
Can confirm, drannith is a very good card
this thumbnail is awesome
Aw yeah, lock decks are always "fun and engaging"!
One note: at 17:18, I think that a different play would have been to not play anything during your turn and wait for the opponent, with the plan being to block the Lavarunner with Aven Interruptor and finish it with the Stomp, and simply stop the Scar Mage with the Magistrate. The bonus point there being that you'd be able to get rid of Jegantha if they played it before attacking and, if not, they'd have to chose to either play Jegantha afterwards or finish the Magistrate, but not both. Then, during your turn, you could go with Fable and Giant if you got a land, or any of those + a 2 drop if you got one, or even Possibility Storm to get the lock and only worry about the one Ramunap Ruin if Jegantha wasn't part of the picture and you still had the Magistrate.
Of course, the moment opponent got the second Ramunap Ruin you were pretty much screwed anyway, and it was a bit risky, but I'd say it had quite an upside. Although I might be wrong on this.
Checks out! Definitely a very interesting game were it not for Ramunap Ruins.
1:16 you can practically hear the grin lol
Hi LVD! Did you consider including Urabrask for the lock with Drannith Magistrate? This would add redundancy.
Also, Urabrask doesn't die to Boseiju
I built a deck a while back with those two, but Urabarask is a bit of a nonbo with Possibility Storm unless we also have Magistrate in play. By exiling their cards they would get around the lock with High Noon or Archon since they're not cast from hand anymore.
@@LegenVD didn't think of that. Thanks for the reply!
I forgot how creative your brews are sheesh this is my kind of mean.
I think adding a Laelia to this deck might be pretty spicy
Laelia isn't legal in Explorer sadly.
Screwed up 😂
Guys do u know if legenvd plays draft again? Maybe on twitch
For the first game, after the game was locked out. Wouldn't the best thing to do is kiki-jiki copying itself until out of mana on opponent end step to do a massive swing back ?
Reflection says "another target", so would need two of them for that trick to work.
@@LegenVD oh, right, it only works with the normal Kiki jiki, my bad, idk why I thought it worked also for this one.
@@wanteerumisbind7407 That one also says "nonlegendary", so can't target itself (otherwise it could go infinite without needing another creature).
@@LegenVD where in the hells did I get that from then, some kind of glass pool mimic shenanigans ? I have vague recollection of this bein a thing on MtgA
Am I tripping ? XD
@@wanteerumisbind7407 If you have two Reflections you can do what you're talking about, which I've seen plenty of times
19:00 should be possibility storm first, chunk with shaman, then pay sac high noon next turn
Certainly a valid approach!
Under 1 minute gang, LFG
I guess you could say you got pranked @13:10
A high noon deck in a video being released at noon is 😌👌
Magic as Crim intended lol, love this play style
Wait what, since when is available PS?
It was a replacement card on one of the recent bonus sheets iirc. Hasn't been on Arena for very long.
@@LegenVD Oh I see, came out with the Copter. Man, the Aetherhub filters deceive me 😅
8:28 Why did Reflection entering create an image of Purphuros? Is that normal? Did Arena confuse one enchantment creature for another?
also happened for Possibility Storm. is it for all enchantments, perhaps
Its a really old bug/feature, if you play authority of the council it shows a Heliod image
You guys are so slow, that’s the enchantment board from Theros BD, when you cast an enchantment the board shows an image of the god of the related color. It’s a feature not a bug.
@@honestabe411 how did I not see that
@@honestabe411 Oh! That's neat. Not sure why you felt the need to insult me though.
how about you add a meta x/10 and a satisfying y/10 score after each video?
Those are a lot of subjective numbers, I would rather give my opinion and refer to websites like Untapped which track stats more accurately.
@@LegenVD like MVC score this is more fun value to wrap up your videos
Possibility storm, you have 0 possible moves
Thanks I hate it.
oh this is just mean lmao
That doesn’t seem very nice to just lock your opponent out of playing the game.
