Saruman singing trolololo... then conceding is the most Saruman flair ever.
This is ANY control deck that does what they were doing. "I'll just remove anything and win" and then lose when they've burned 6 removal spells in their knight tribal aggro deck against mana dorks.
Obviously the latter wasnt the exact scenario but I played Samut against Syr Gwynn who had 0 equipment 4 knights and 9 removal spells and still lost
Shows up. Kills all your creatures. Refuses to elaborate. Leaves.

The Lord of the Lord of the Rings Challenge has been awesome. A mix of longer videos with interesting Commanders, and medleys with the rest is perfect.
I think this is where I'm at too, though I have to say I was expecting a quick win at the end of the video with another deck until you got to the post games wrap.
I love how when Nissa explodes the incubator token, it doesn't even move toward the battlefield. The animation starts, but nissas like "NOPE"
The Sauruman game should be in a magic textbook or something. Perfect demonstration of why a boatload 1-for-1 removal doesn't win games, and why threats that get some incremental value even if removed are so much better than just big threats that die and do nothing when doom bladed.

There's always going to be objectively bad or near impossible to play at higher ELO commanders in this challenge, but I do like getting full videos for stronger commanders like this guy.

The true funniest part is both of them are 3 min slower than the guy who actually sent the first message who didn't even try to say he was first lol
The Etali game was brutal. It felt like you played better but the game just RNG’d them the win. Guess that’s just the game.
He could have eaten the food when he had extra mana, but having the extra mana could also have made a difference.

Another great video. I underestimated Radagast, this has opened my eyes. Also, I liked this longer video that focuses on a more interesting card or deck, would have been a shame to miss some of that for a less interesting commander.

The Saruman game was so flavourful, killing Radagast every chance he got and stopping all the fun from being had. "Radagast? Do not speak to me of Radagast the Brown. He's a foolish fellow. It's his excessive consumption of mushrooms. They've addled his brain and yellowed his teeth."

Hornet Queen is the best! Also works great with Tribute The World Tree. Coming from trying to play mono G in standard theses hornet queen feels like a jackpot.

Really enjoyed the series and video. Standard has become really dull and featuring these new LOTR cards in an in depth way is a really interesting way to cover new magic. I would just caution being to reliant on powerful cards like Lily Dread Gen as they can win the game on their own but can understand the necessity for some closers. Keep up the great work!
Auto tapper saved snow land so that you could activate your tapped haven, of course. Much more important than Nykthos.
Weird thing about playing this deck is that people scoop almost as much to safekeeping against the first removal spell aimed at Radagast as they do when you slam craterhoof 😂

My guess fore ther scoop imn the first game was having only his really expensive cards in his hand, but still thought he can pull it off mif they gest to 5 mnana fast enough, but instead of finding their ramp thjey then drew only more expenisve struff and wheree about to miss a land drop.

You know... The One Ring is absolutely busted and should be banned immediately but they cannot, because it is the main theme card for the whole expansion. Almost everyone is playing it every time in any deck of that expansion. Well done WotC, well done.

I'm a Standard Andy, but I can't say that that format is super exciting right now. I think I'd get into HB, but I just can't stand the weird alchemy card rules. Oh well.

That Imoti player in game 1 is a shame for all us Imoti players out there - 4 lands and not a piece of mana acceleration in hand. Imoti must come down turn 3, at worse 4, otherwise you have given too much advantage to your opponent

is the rage quitting to ragavan a little overboard? I played ragavan a lot and even I get it down on turn 1, usually by end of turn 2 they have some removal for it. So getting in one hit for a treasure token and a card i almost never can cast doesnt seem that big a deal.
