He was great and decent in the playoffs too. Meanwhile that boat anchor Marner sucks up so much cap and ghosts his way through the postseason. What a loss

His only goal in the playoffs came from Rielly shooting it in off his skates. Granted Keefe should've put him on PP1 instead of Tavares, but for a guy who was on the first line for every game 1 goal is really dissapointing.

Connor bedard and nothing is crazy, they have one of if not the best young cores in all of hockey, they’ve had a ton of first round picks rounding out the lineup, they will be dangerous very soon
I hope so. But by soon, that means 3 or 4 years for these guys to develop. That’s the trouble with drafting 18 year olds. And many can bust.
correction - Chicago let Teuvo go because they wanted to get out of the last year of Bickell's 4x4 contract, which he got entirely for his playoff production (i can't remember if the team knew of the MS diagnosis, but probably not, since if he had the medical diagnosis they might not have needed to dump the deal, they could let insurance handle it). Teuvo was the piece to get them to take the whole thing

Tuevo was added as a sweetener in the Bickell deal. They would have loved to have kept him.
I wasn't convince when he signed with The Leafs last off season, but I'm convinced now that he signed with the Blackhawks that he is trying to play for every Original 6 franchise in his career. He only needs the Habs and Rangers.
Oh well I am happy we got Domi. I think it is too much money for Bertuzzi. I expect the Blackhawks will flip him in the future.
Bert showed up out of shape last year. He wouldn't have survived Berube's training camp.

the hawks had to part w/ teuvo initially because he was the sweetener that carolina insisted be included in a (cap dump) trade for taking b.bickell's contract off of the hawks.
Bertuzzi, 9th on team for pts/60 regular season, 6th in playoffs. 20ths on team for hits/60, 9th in playoffs. The guy is a bottom-6 player, maybe he'll hit top-6 standing on someone's coat-tails.

For the record, Teuvo got traded with Bryan Bickell because we couldn’t move off the 4x4 overpriced Bickell contract right before he got diagnosed. He was our blue chip that was our sacrificial lamb to make space. Glad to have him back and Bert too!!

Just to clarify, but the Hawks had to use TT as the sweetener so CAR would take the Bickell contract before they knew that Bickell had MS.

@@craigharrison5406 hi 👋, he was the only proper screen and when coached right (let the players cook/ Keefe never understood this. E.g. the line with Bert, Mathews and Domi was a right click and even with Willy it started to work) Bert is a good player in the reg. season but amps up to be a menace at the Playoffs. They just needed to find the right price/ yrs construction but always seam to be impatient and Leafy. Stats are one thing, a tenacious team mentality (Panthers have showed it, Vegas had it too) can’t be bought “as is”. I also agree with Steve that it’s not healthy to pay well over 50% of your (new) cap to 4 forwards. No winning team does that. But we’ll see. Do you play hockey?

The leafs will be lucky to make the playoffs this year. Teams in the east are vastly improved. We havent so far. Its sad. Everyone thinks the leafs D was the big issue last year. This group cant score in the playoffs.

I called it at end of last year, Domi would stay and Bert would go. It was easy to see Bert was never really happy in Toronto. Leaf fans never appreciated his style of play. I'm not liking where Toronto is headed. Enjoy AM while you can, because he will never sign another contract with this organization.
