Wonderful video, well done!. As far as I can tell there are no houses flooded in the scenes, so this is not "bad" flooding, it is good flooding - flooding as it should be and nature intended taking place on the flood plane of one of the UK's greatest rivers. This is a spectacular beauty of nature to be celebrated. We must all resolve to keep it that way, stop developers building on flood planes, and over the coming decades even remove existing development from them.

Just found your channel, good films, go this way to work at Newark, often road flooded Just out of Besthorpe, could just see the sailing club buildings at Girton.

Great video Anthony. Interesting to watch and shows just how bad it is. You can see how Girton is totally surrounded. Feel for all those affected.

Oh really. I know I’m a long way downstream from Burton Upon Trent but yes, quite bad this way on. Girton, the small hamlet at the end always gets it bad given how low it lies but it’s a few years since I’ve known it quite as bad as this.
