I’m picking up a Trafic at the weekend which needs a new alternator, I’ll definitely be watching your video a few more times.
Thanks for showing how it’s done.

Great video..very helpful ..but I would advise anyone to check the alternator has done the job before putting it all back together completely..had a few euro parts that where faulty and had to do the whole thing again....for the sake of turning the key and making sure the battery light has gone out takes seconds..but good work 🤜🤛👍

Thank you. Managed to do both the alternator and starter motor with the same strip down. Could not have done it without your video 👍👍

Done one today with aircon, absolutely no need to remove bumper etc. Done all from the bottom, removed radiator support at the bottom undid aircon but left all pipes connected just bungee pipes out the way and hey presto alternator drops out the bottom. Far easier

How do you lock the tensioner off? I'm balls deep here and can't get at the bottom bolt as i can't see where I'm meant to lock it off 😢

This took just over an hour but I have done these a lot and have electric tools. Average time I would think is 2-3 hours

Nice one , the starter motor is a pig to change on these vans as you have to remove the front end completely to get to it , who ever designed these things are numbskulls......👍

This is clip explains what to do really well. The tensioner is a bit of an issue because it is difficult to access. On this clip it appears you have slightly more room for a ratchet. Also there is a way to lock the tensioner enabling some slack allowing you to easily remove and place back the belt. This can be seen here czcams.com/video/cItgblLV_-M/video.html (btw: You do not need to remove the wheel and wheel arches if you have removed the bumper, grill etc.)...Thanks, you saved me a lot of money.

It only took 1 hour this way. It's not as difficult as it looks.
