I’m picking up a Trafic at the weekend which needs a new alternator, I’ll definitely be watching your video a few more times.
Thanks for showing how it’s done.
I want to say thanks for the video mate, straight to the point, zero fkng around and a massive help for me- just about to replace my alternator. Really appreciate the video thanks. Best wishes 👍
Great video..very helpful ..but I would advise anyone to check the alternator has done the job before putting it all back together completely..had a few euro parts that where faulty and had to do the whole thing again....for the sake of turning the key and making sure the battery light has gone out takes seconds..but good work 🤜🤛👍
Thank you. Managed to do both the alternator and starter motor with the same strip down. Could not have done it without your video 👍👍
Glad it helped
I’ve done the alternator on my van from below and tried your way this time …. So much easier thank you
Thanks for commenting
Done one today with aircon, absolutely no need to remove bumper etc. Done all from the bottom, removed radiator support at the bottom undid aircon but left all pipes connected just bungee pipes out the way and hey presto alternator drops out the bottom. Far easier
Think it's way harder that way but everyone is different 👍🏻
Nice job, thank you, i ve just changed mine too, after seeing some videos on youtube.
How do you lock the tensioner off? I'm balls deep here and can't get at the bottom bolt as i can't see where I'm meant to lock it off 😢
Is this video ok for engine 2.5 dci? Thanks
Same procedure on vivaro 2.0 16v 2004?
So no need to remove headlights ? Because u didnt remove panel
Good vid ,I swear to god I thought you were going to launch that electric rachet across the place and grab a normal one 😄
Maybe one day!
👍
How long from start to finish to install new alternator and belt
This took just over an hour but I have done these a lot and have electric tools. Average time I would think is 2-3 hours
You make it look easy but i no it isnt!! I got to do mine next week when new alt arives..
How did you get on?
@@ORileysAutos it turned out to be streched belt. So i have a spare alt now. Lol..
good tutorial
Thank you 👍🏻
Nice one , the starter motor is a pig to change on these vans as you have to remove the front end completely to get to it , who ever designed these things are numbskulls......👍
I hate these vans
@@ORileysAutos Yes m8 there shit to work on but ave done starter without doing anything but remove the starter bolts and cables and turn it halfway around and drag it back and wrigle it down from the bottom
This is clip explains what to do really well. The tensioner is a bit of an issue because it is difficult to access. On this clip it appears you have slightly more room for a ratchet. Also there is a way to lock the tensioner enabling some slack allowing you to easily remove and place back the belt. This can be seen here czcams.com/video/cItgblLV_-M/video.html (btw: You do not need to remove the wheel and wheel arches if you have removed the bumper, grill etc.)...Thanks, you saved me a lot of money.
Thanks for watching
why can no one show how to remove a headlight
Learning by doing 😂
Could of done it from underneath in about 30 minutes. Abit fiddly but still an easy job. Good video though
It only took 1 hour this way. It's not as difficult as it looks.
