Sweet looking bike! Can’t wait to hear your impressions after the first ride!!
Thanks! Excited to get it out there and rack up some miles on it!! I appreciate you!
Wish i owned it 😊. Thats a nice bike and i love the whole look of it. I look forward to seeing your video of your first ride. Congratulations !!!
Sherry Hospodar Thanks, excited to get it out there! Thanks for stopping by!!
My congrats with a new bike. The Beargrease looks awesome!
Thanks for a review. Can't wait to see how it rides and to hear your thoughts of how the bike feels.
033 - все о приключениях на велосипеде Thanks much appreciated!! I’m excited to compare it to the Surlys! Thanks for checking it out!
Congrats! So looking forward to more video’s on this beautiful beast of yours. Very helpful video as far as info goes as I just secured a Beargrease XO1!!! Hopefully I’ll have it sometime in November. I am very pumped!!! I was gonna do an ICT thanks to you, but I seem to be in between sizes with Surly so I am glad to see you on a Beargrease as well.😃 I really hope really enjoy it and I’ll let you know when I get mine. -Bruce
Bruce R Awesome Bruce congrats! Glad you were able to get one, the wait is a bummer though. My Beargrease is a Large like my ICT, they both feel great to me. I am 5’11” but Salsa says the large is for 6’-6’3”. It’s just a reference though. I’m sure you will enjoy that XO1 build!! Yes give me you feedback on it!
I bought the same exact bike two weeks ago I love it. My first fat like ever. It should work great Michigan for winter riding
Ken Eppink it’s pretty impressive in my short time with it. Looking for some trails and high elevation adventures soon and then of course snow biking before too long! Thanks for stopping by!!
Awesome bike, Congrats!!! Great colors!! Fyi watch that rubber coated protection down by back tire. Mine is peeling off my Fuel EX8. I need to clean and repair but something to watch. Now get that 1st video posted 👍💯
Thanks much appreciated! Hoping to get some good miles this week even with the smokey skies here.
Thanks for the info. I'm currently looking at a Giant Yukon 2. But not in a hurry.
I have not ridden that bike yet, but it looks good to me. I have had great experiences with my other Giant bikes.
Awesome bike you got bro, that is awesome for Winter biking. Thanks for sharing, stay connected.
Rgez MTB Thanks for stopping by and checking it out! Nice channel you’ve got there, subscribed!
I got a chance to ride one this weekend. What an amazing bike! I guess they are sold out until Fall of 2021...
Yeah I am really enjoying it. I do know they went fast, but with searching they might have a few out there. I think my shop has a couple XL Beargrease left if that’s your size.
Nice bike!!! You put some carbon parts on it should get it to 30 or less pounds. My single speed Pugsley is 32 pounds and my Wednesday is 31 pounds!!! Looking forward to your videos on the Beargrease
Shaun Roach Yeah I can see investing more into this bike. My Pugs is currently 36lbs😳 but am about to give it a make over and film it, should get 2-3lbs off of it. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the channel! Oh, I’d love to check out a Wednesday, seems like it splits the difference between the Pugs and the ICT.
Nice bike my friend my grandson is in the BMX I got him a Matt Hoffman bike that's a nice-looking bike congratulations I stopped by to show my support your Channel smash that like button for you my friend I hope you're doing well this evening I definitely enjoyed the video and I thank you for sharing it take care and I'll see you soon be safe and have a wonderful day and happy riding
Michael McReynolds thanks so much Micheal!
@@ElevationEveryWeekend you're welcome my friend I enjoyed it take care and I'll see you soon be safe I have a wonderful day
Thanks for the awesome videos, you've been a great resource for me as I'm looking for my first fat bike! I'm interested to hear what you think of this Beargrease vs the ICT, as they are two bikes that I'm looking at. I know that they're quite different bikes, which one do you think would be best suited for someone looking to use it mostly in winter (in Alberta, Canada) on groomed trails and snow covered pathways? I'm looking mostly for a bike that's really fun to ride, and am not too concerned with going as fast as possible, although I understand light weight is almost always an advantage. Thanks, and keep up the awesome content!
Hey Dennis thanks for watching and for the kind words. Still getting a feel for the Salsa, first ride impression vid coming tomorrow. I can say both are great bikes and you really can’t go wrong. I expect the Salsa will be great in the snow too and am excited to try it. The ICT is a great bike, and if speed isn’t a concern it would probably do everything you’re looking for. One benefit to the ICT is that despite the weight, I feel like I don’t have to baby it being steel as I do the carbon Beargrease, maybe that’s just because it’s new as I know they build durable bikes too. Anyways, good luck in your decision, you’ll love whatever you end up with!
@@ElevationEveryWeekend Awesome, thanks for the reply! I do like the idea of not having to baby it. Carbon still worries me in some ways, although I'm not sure if that's justified anymore with modern carbon bikes. I'm excited for bike shops to hopefully get some new ICTs in stock if/when Surly releases them so I can test ride them and see if the weight really matters much to me. I'm super jealous of your prickly pear one, that colour is so sweet. A comparison video would be awesome, but I understand that wouldn't be possible until you've ridden the Beargrease for a while. Thanks again!
Hi update on my slx i did a comparison between slx n deore . First both share same frame so thats mean both are v capable bikes . Now difference are in components.i think 1000$ is totally not justified for slx but i got it for nx price so i went to a shop n looked both bike every single component. First difference is drivetrain then bottom bracket n cranks also different handle bars n seat post n a lot better breaks . So 500$ difference is i think justifies
Nice! Getting it at any discount is a good deal. If you’re comfortable with the additional cost I say for for it!
Great video. I'm doing the opposite. I currently have a 2020 Specialized Fatboy and I'm also looking to get a Surly Wednesday. Just need something with a steel frame.
Totally with you on that concept!! I have no intention of letting go the ICT, something comforting about the durability of steel. Still have an excessive cautious feeling with the carbon Salsa when transporting it. Let me know how the Wednesday search goes! Surly told me they have updates coming before the end of the year on the Wednesday and ICT. Thanks for watching!!!
@@ElevationEveryWeekend I am also worried about my carbon Fatboy. I still transport it in the back of my Suburban while my other bikes are hanging on the bike rack...lol I'll be sure to let you know when I actually locate a medium Wednesday. My LBS said they will let me know as soon as the get one in. I also gave them a deposit just to be sure. Not many Surly dealers in Maine... Lol thanks again
Hope you got or can get the Wednesday! The new Purple color is pretty awesome IMO!
@@ElevationEveryWeekend Im finally getting one next week. Gray sweatpants is what I'll have to get. But that's perfectly alright... Lol
Anthony Debellis awesome! Let me
Know what you think about it!
I was wondering why you have the rear tire mounted "backwards", for better traction and braking?
I’ve had a few others take notice of this too. The Vanhelga’s are bi-directional, meaning they recommend running them one direction in front, and the other in the back. There is actually a double sided arrow on the sidewall that indicates direction front/back. I presume to assist with traction as you indicated. Personally I suspect there is not a drastic difference.
Super interested in seeing your thoughts on this bike after 1 month and after the winter. I’m on the market.
Yep have a bunch in the pipeline coming out soon on it! Also looking forward to the snow aspect which should start soon in the mountains. Thanks for watching and good luck in your search!
Elevation Every Weekend Thanks! Seems like I’m going to need it.
Hi. Thanks for our nice review :) I Have seen there is a 26" wheel equipped with a 4,8" Surly Lou. Can you do me a favour put this wheel into the beargrease' rearend to check the tire clearance? A photo will be nice too! I know, the beargrease is suitable to fit 4,6" tires on 26" only, but I am looking forward that this combo will works with minor compromises too. Thanks!
Hey Frank thanks for watching! Yeah Salsa says 4.6” on a 100mm rim is the max, but a 4.8” on the 80mm rim might be possible. I will try to take a look and see! Chain line clearance will be the other question in the big gears in back.
@@ElevationEveryWeekend Ok thanks. Yes it is a 80mm rim and my thoughts are the same: going from a "not allowed" 100mm to a 80mm will do the job with some luck.. It will be nice to swap the wheels with my existing Canyon Dude if I go for the beargrease too. Greetings from rainy germany ;)
Please let us know the size you bought (I think you got a large) and how tall you are and what size is your inseam..if you can let me know this. Thanks
Yes I did get a large. I am 5’11” with a 32” inseam, and the bike fits and feels really good to me. Thanks for watching!!
max 4.6 in the back would be a no go for me. i’m thinking of going to a 5.0 from a 4.8.
Yeah since it is sold as a "groomed racing bike", I can see it not going for max tire size. The 27.5" wheels do really help though I have been impressed so far. For mega traction I have the Surly ICT and its been unstoppable thus far.
Where can I buy the 2021 Salsa Mukluk Carbon XT
It’s still pretty tough out there on supply. I would call all of the Salsa dealers close to you and see if you can get lucky, if not branch out as most dealers can ship bikes now due to the pandemic. I would also watch the online bike trader groups if you’re ok going used. Good luck!!
Nice bike, I would only charge the colors 😅
DavMTB5 thanks for stopping by to check it out!
What size frame is it and how tall are you?
I am 5’11” and this frame is a large. I find the large works great for me! Thanks for watching!!
I'd pay more for SLX any day of the week.
Yeah, definitely prefer the SLX, but the Deore does the job.
abang jual farley 9.8 warna merah 9
Trek Farley 9.8 is a great bike!!
Go ride it and do a video riding and feel review
I’ll have a few ride impression/performance vids coming in the next week or two before the snow riding starts!
31 pound is little high side
I expected it a bit lower setup tubeless, but that’s what I got. That’s with pedals, bottle cage, and bell installed too.
Elevation Every Weekend thanks just bought silver one n will compare it to my yukon 1 n 2
Mine is a large, for additional context on the weight too.
Elevation Every Weekend i am 6 feet tall n fall in 2 frame size n was confused but at the end went with large
Elevation Every Weekend hi i have a question for u my shop messed up my order n now they are giving me slx 2800$ out the door is it good deal ?
