Megavalanche on a fat bike. A video I’ve been waiting for for 4 years 🙏🏻🙌🏼
When’s the gravel bike backflip happening then blake haha
Just get Sam pilgrim in to do it instead
@@jaydonthomson1329 yeah probs would be better haha
Haha! Was expecting the same 😂
In the planning I reckon.. in the meantime, get ya roadie and ya GoPro and beat him to it!... 😀
Blake just has the ability to put a smile on anybody’s face!
What a legend
Yeah, we love Blake!
Yes for the Mega Avalanche on the fatty!!!
Thank you you beautiful people at GMBN
Thank you, Blake for sharing the fat love. Fatties rule! It’s the most fun bike I’ve ever owned.
Fat is so much fun we sold most of our skinny tire bikes. They were just collecting dust. 👍👍
Deadly...need to get me one of those Fatbikes. You know the answer already Blake...DO THE MEGAVALANCHE🚵
You even get full suspension fat bikes
I mean, how good would that be in the snow though?
@@joshfoster6669 it's gorgeous in the snow, it has grip as hell.
This bikes come originally from Alaska
@@joshfoster6669 Fatbikes rip in snow. Especially the ones with metal studs
@@bobohunter1776 that sounds like a death trap but for the people around you, especially for the big pile ups, you'll just roll over them like a tank!
Listening to Blake trying to not drop the F bomb was brilliant. Fair Play to Blake, Rich and Neil for trying different challenges on the Fort Bill WC track 👍
Hey Gmbn Blake! Mega thanks for sending it on the fatbike! Yes to the mega fatalanche! Also please if you can do a Nukeproof Scout and Canyon Dude vid! It would be mega interesting to see slo-mo of both tire types side by side taking the same line through various rocky sections! Blake is the man to bring it to us! Ride ride ride!
Gee is made of different stuff to us mere mortals! Get well soon Gee. Back stronger than ever! 💪
As soon as I saw the title I knew it would be Blake
Man, like they say, ride it like you steal it! But, the best fat bike experience is riding it in our beautiful Canadian winter ❄️ with studded tires. Blake my man, you should put this on your “to do” liste. Keep on riding!
Love Blake's ride videos. I have that exact bike, so I can imagine how sketchy this must have been. That being said, the Dude is a great all around bike if you ride a lot of blues and greens. It's a 68.5° head tube, so it's not set up for mach chicken, but that's what makes it nice for livening up some of the otherwise less engaging trails. And like he said, the extra tire volume really makes it a fair bit more comfortable than your average XC hardtail.
Nice, good choice! 🤘
You know Blake's become a true brit from the cry of "oh, ya bastid" when it started getting rough
I totally forgot it was a fat bike and when he said "I'm running ___ pressure" I expected him to say like 30, not 8.5 lol
8.5 (or 0,55 bar) is a good pressure for such a ride, the 4,8 are fine on streets with 10 to 15 Psi, and 8 to 8,5 on such a trail.
On loose sand you can even reduce to 4,5 to 5 Psi
Still, from the video, it looks like a bit too much pressure.
Hey Gmbn! Yes I agree Blake could ride with 1 psi less in the rear tire and even 2 psi less in the front! Even a half psi change makes a noticable difference! I have ridden fat tires for 7 years now and you can see in the slo-mo shots he could enjoy more absorption from those awesome tires!
I would like to see that run again with properly reduced tire pressure. Looked awkward.
Seems way to high if tubeless.
@@ericm8811 Its like people dont realize that was clearly the optimal PSI for him, if he doesnt mind a bit more of a rough ride the higher PSI means going faster not to mention its a world cup downhill course yall acting like you DH on your fat bikes every weekend meanwhile in your 7 years its never seen a lift in its life common man.
Riding fat tires has broadened our horizons here. It’s opened up so much more riding in the desert southwest for us. Areas that were not accessible via the old skinnier tires we had been riding for decades. Sand dunes and sandy washes with islands of prestine singletrack are now fun to ride and easy to get to. Truly the go anywhere all terrain, all season bikes. Everyone should have at least one nice fat bike in their quiver. So much fun💥💥💥
Fantastic Blake, you've just convinced me to click "Buy Now" on a pair of Minions for my Trek Farley.
I'd love to see you ride the MegaAvalanche on a Fattie!
Minions are good tires! Even they are heavier than jumbo jims, the traction is amazing.
Blake could ride a road bike down that 🤣
Sam Pilgrim tried it... Lol

Awesome! Proper honest fun day out with Blake. Don't we all need a friend like him?
They are far more capable and versatile than most people think. I am pretty much full-time fat bike here in Colorado!

Fat Bikes rock! Totally under rated. Completely loopy.
HOLY CRAP DUDE!! That was intense! Dam nice job surviving to the bottom - there looked to be some hairy moments in there but f*-me you were pinning it! Top draw.
We always look forward to your fat bike videos Blake! You can't not have a smile on your face riding those things! Yes, please ride a fatty on Megavalanche!!!
Of course we are going to say "yes" to you doing the Mega Avalanche on a fat bike!
The best vid ever on fatbike!
Thank you from Cagayan de Oro, Philippines.
Obviously filmed before gee fell off the mountain, 🤞for a quick recovery GEE
"Fell off the mountain" sounds like an exaggeration but based on the video it seems spot-on
Yes. We're glad Gee is okay and wish him a speedy recovery
Great to see Blake giving it plenty on his FatBike down Fort Bill. My riding bud and I were supposed to be hitting it with our FatBikes last year, but the Pandemic closed the site & we have not been able to get there, Yet. - We run Maxxis Minion FBF / FBR tyres with 11psi front 12psi rear for big rough stuff. Great fun. Looking forward to seeing Blake take on the Megavalanche on his Fatty (probably running a couple of PSI more to reduce squirm & squish) - Good Job Blake!
Siiick ride brotha... amazing job on HT fat bike... like really sick job bro.... Keep shredding my man.. and great vids... cheers!!!!
The smirk on my face every time I swing a leg over my fat bike is because of this video! 😎
Thank you once again!👍❤️🏴
Did you say clicking in? At fort William? Are you ‘bike Rambo’ Blake😂 great run man
Awesome riding blake. I was up there on my hardtail last week. What an incredible trail. I bailed out of the woods section though 😂
The freerider that you are Blake.. splendid dude!!!
FAIR PLAY to you Blake that was fantastic to watch ! an excellent vlog
I always have a smile when I see yong people struggle on bikes that are much better than what we had in my young days. we had no suspension, because they had not been invented yet, on 26 inch rims and 1.8 inch wide tires. We used to go douwn similar trails, on a hard frame and no front suspension. The vibration was so intense, we could not see where we were going. I do admire the young going fast on their full supension but I feel previleged to have grouwn up with all the innovation that was done over the years. My current fat bike has no suspension and it bring me back to my young years but I principally use it in the winter so I can ride all year long. chears.
I'm puzzled. Searched for the Dude, and found it, but with no front suspension. Did you upgrade or...? And I agree with everyone else-you are an INCREDIBLE presenter with your cheerful and fun energy!
" Oh ye basterd!" had me rolling
Megavalance on a fat bike, oh YEAHHHH!!! Oh man next year I want to join the mega too, hope to meet you and the crew there :D
Hell yes! Megaavalanche on the fatbike!!!!
“Baby head rocks” - a sinister glimpse into Blake’s psyche 😂🤣
Blake, thank you! 🙏
I don't own a fat bike because I have two! This video makes me happy.
You should get your hands on something like a Salsa Bucksaw with full suspension and try this run again. It's a pretty inspiring downhill platform even with just 100MM of rear travel. Sounds crazy I know. Surprisingly nimble, handles incredibly well in the air and pointed downhill it's fast with the right rubber. I've only exploded the carbon seat stay one time... so far. Trying to avoid doing it again as the bike went out of production in 2019 and there's no more frame pieces.
Magic work! Fat bikes can do XC races too in my books! Just prepare to hurt in ways you didn't think possible 👍👊💪
Absolute legend.
Fat-Bike Megavalanche 2022 ! Yeah Man !
It's a blast riding my Lenz Fatillac downhill! Can't ride it like Blake for sure though!!
Suggestion, Blake. One, 27.5"x4" tires. I have a Framed Carbon Wolftrax with a Bluto fork and it rolls fast! Two, Framed also has a full suspension called the Montana. 100 mil front and back but should work better. There are others out there as well. I run 8psi rear and 7psi front on mine for trail and it doesn't seem to bounce much. Smooths out the rough stuff for me fairly well. Not near as well as my 2020 Norco Sight but not bad. Fun to watch. Fatties are crazy capable!
Liking the new lid, good colour
your downhill moans are legit 😂🤣
Yay! More fatbike content plz!
A hard tail fat bike: the ultimate Blake machine
YES! Fatbiking!!!! I love this stuff Blake. Nice bike! My Fatbike is my "Fatback Rhino FLT" and she's a beauty. I wish I could make her fly like you man.
that course looks dope
Those arms are getting super worked lol. Rough riding baby!!
Fatbikes are credible if you set them up correctly for such terrain. I managed 15th out of 89 in Cat1 Downieville Classic XC (a glorified enduro race with too much climbing at the beginning, dominated by full-squish MTBs) on my 2016 9:zero:7 Whiteout with only 120mm of Rockshox Bluto suspension. Tires were Maxxis Minion DHF/DHR 26" x 4.8" tires. Were it not for the multiple chaindrops (was not running a chainguide, unfortunately) could have clinched a top ten finish.
Love, love, love it!
Yes ! Do the méga on the fatbike 😊
Look laborsome.. great effort!
Respect Blake! And of course yes to the last question.
Only 4 mins in, but a good running joke in this would be Gee just lapping Blake again and again... “oh, there’s Gee again”
I ride my 26” fatboy all season!
4.8” tires with a manitou mastadon up front!
Me too!!! Love my Fatboy
@@deuce9624 I have a 2015 Fatboy, running a 1x10 gears on 4.6 tires, carbon fiber forks on a large frame. This thing flies!

@@deuce9624 Woot woot!
Jeezo man that trail is bad enough on my enduro bike. Props to you sir 🤟
Ah my love of fat bikes knows no bounds. Had so many 😅
I knew you’d do it 👊💥
Short answer, Yes. Fat bikes can go anywhere. Love all of Blakes videos.
Screw the tires, mad props for running a hardtail down that rockpocalypse.
most fat bikes don't have any suspension because the tires are pretty bouncy all by themselves in fact I run about 30 PSI in mine to try and take some of the bounce out of it because it's like having a really active suspension you lose a lot of crank power to the bounciness, and there's no way to lock it out. even with 30 PSI in it I can tell if I'm in the wrong gear because the whole bike bounces with each pedal stroke
@@better.better 30psi is a hell of a lot for a fat bike- I run mine at 8 on trails and 10 on roads
@@charliemiller4111 I don't know, I'll try pressure that low when I find a gauge that goes that low. I was running less for winter, and brought it up this high to take out some of the bounce for more efficient commuting. I don't think I had THAT much less in it though, I let air out of it until it seemed to perform good, and then in the spring I put it up to where I have it now. I've done 16 mph sprints on pavement with this pressure though, and I bushwack off trail, climbs on loose sand, go over small logs, ride off-camber across a slope... I really haven't suffered by being at this pressure, unless I really load it up with weight. it's a Surly Big Fat Dummy though so "nimble" isn't really in the cards.
@@better.better well that’s a cool bike- I have an ice cream truck that I absolutely love
awesome represent!!!
Blake have mercy.... you push again to the limit hehehehe
Nice.. ride safe
I will not be disappointing Blake. Yes do the Megavalanche on a fat bike.
The new standard in downhill is now fatbike downhill lol nice job guys
Mega on the dude!
Super cool Video 😂
Actually, Megavalanche on a fat bike might not be so crazy. You'd have an advantage in the top, snowy, portion.
Tubeless (or failing that, Tubolito style tubes) makes a huge difference in rolling resistance and weight and is a way bigger upgrade than on a normal MTB.
i see Blake i like the video 26 aint dead
I’m smaller, like Blake. Much prefer my 26” fat bike over the 27.5 fat bikes
@@Wheelsanstuff yes mee too im still using 26 mtb my 1st and last mtb just upgrade only sir
Way too much tire pressure Blake. Drop it a couple more psi and those rock gardens would likely become much more manageable and less bouncy at the cost of a little speed. I was surprised you didn't do that part way down. Also, what's your fork travel set to? "Over forking" that bike might further improve that rocky descent experience. Thanks for the show!
Stopping at the big jumps, and illustrating that doing a pre-run is critical because sometimes you say “no,” is the subtle but most important part of this video.
LOVE my fatbike. It's not getting any love now (summer), but once it starts snowing it gets all my love.
What a dude, dude!
MEGAVALANGE + FATBIKE + BLAKE = BEST COMBO
MEGA ON A FATBIKE?! YOU GOLDEN HERO!
2:46 Gee ist back on the Bike ? 😂
Part of loving a fat bike is, knowing when to push it.
That's soo gnarly 🙌
Please do much, much more with fatbikes!
Yes!!!! Mega on a fatbike
for sure do the mega!
Blake needs to ride the fat bike at the mega avalanche
Edit: Before he said it in the vid at 6:24
that would be awesome
You'll start strong on Megavalanche because you'll have much better grip on the snow, but once you get to the first climb and then the technical sections, the fat bike will struggle. It'll be fun to watch. I ride my fat bike from late Autumn through early spring, because it's the best bike for the snow.
Can I just say: Beast!
I have no where's near Blake's skill, confidence, or abilities but I do still love to take my fully rigid fatbike on some pretty fun trails. It might not be the best tool for the job but it sure is fun
Your a mentalist Blake. 😁
The Blake build bike .I hope it can fit fatty wheels in 26 27.5 and 29 to be an all-rounder
Your tires look like they have too much pressure. Fat tires need little pressure and they don't look like they are flexing much. Amazing riding on your part though!
Test ride A Lauf fork..
Your the best Guinea pig!!!
I own the the 2021 27.5 w 3.8 tread. Bad ass bike! I've been crushing it all last summer and this winter in the Sierras in Ca.,Nv. USA
Legend 👏
I couldn't believe the pressure tire 8.5 I think is too low the get the speed on those jumps, yet you did it mate... I love fat bikes and plus bikes.
'i gonna do the mega on a fat bike'.
Oh yeah Blake you rock!
