Do it
Ziptie the suspension and make it squat. Helps with the rollover and keeps more stable. Basically get the chassis as low to the ground as possible to where the lower arms on all 4 sides are level with the chassis. STABLE as ever, with just enough suspension travel left. And foam grip tires help a lot. They are more forgiving. Hope you hit that 100mph!!
Watching the Wl toys buggy on video looked even faster than 76 mph . It looked like it was tracking nice and straight and pretty stable . That was pretty impressive Phil . Cool video.
Yes, it's dialled in really well. No stability either... so even nicer that it's well planted

@@TomleyRC For sure! Making fast stuff fast is nice, but absurd projects are just inherently more fun trying to make something work, that really shouldn't.
RC Clan was all on about "not too many rules, but you have to keep the body"...Im starting to think at this point you should drop the body onto a boat shell, and run that at 100MPH. I dont remember hearing "on land" anywhere ;)

Also running the same wheels u have on the rear and the stock plastic ones on the front and for some reason that setup makes it super stable and u can keep it in a straight line

How do you change the gear of the motor. That’s the only thing I don’t understand with this conversions to brushless motors. Do you need other gears for it and how do you know which one? Greets

nice one mate, i am now doing speed run using a Maverick Strada Tc, early days with it, and a person i know has just clocked a gps speed of a nudge over 80MPH with a modded FTX Bansai drift, seems speed running is growing

Well... we held the record (on CZcams at least) for 1 day and 20 hours.. 😅😅 Well done Phil! 49mph is now the sped to beat! The time we get around to doing it again either you or rcclan would have reach 100mph I'm sure of it! 🍻

Has anyone figured out steel diffs for it? I want to go brushless but wont unless i can get rid of the plastic gears.. thanks a bunch!
I have hit at least 50 with mine. 540 brushless can mount from 595b and gears. Even with gyro and wheel spacers its hard as heck to keep on 4 wheels

With the high profile square body on that little truck there will be a huge vacuum on the downwind side of the truck at that speed in that much crosswind. The vacuum will just drag it over. It’s basically giving lateral “lift” straight to the side.

Slightly off subject of your video, but still RC. When I was a kid my first RC car was a ford gt40 kyosho 4x4 driven by belts from a nitro engine. I've been trying to find one of these original kits, are they really hen's teeth? And if you know exact what kit that was it would help. Thanks.

This may indeed be relatively "cheap", but I clicked here to see cheap "stock" or out-of-the-box RC cars, not mod-ed ones. Thumbnail should read cheapest & best MOD-ED RC cars. That being said, I really love the variety your channel offers and your awesome videography! : ) Please keep in mind, not everyone buys motors, ESC's and wheels galore to get "cheap".
Over 90mph with a £35 Motor & £40 ESC... I’d say that is pretty Cheap 😎👌

I am still waiting for my 1603. I messed up, I ordered just as the Chinese new year started and these little drift cars were also out of stock. Hopefully in the next month. I have that CEN Fiat body so either try it on this chassis or try and find a K drift chassis.

I have getting the Baron Sg 1603 the upgrade with the lipo battery but I've also bought a S3 battery 1800 mah with a graphic sump guard it's a lot faster and a lot more responsive and it was still under £100
Dear Tomley I have got Surpass Hobby 2440 6080kv motor and surpass hobby kk series 35A ESC. Do you think it's safe to work with 3S LiPo in small 1/18 model?
Yes it should be. Although I’d recommend a 60A ESC if you want it to have better performance

A quick calculation shows that the tires on the SG would experience at 10,000g of centripetal acceleration at 100mph. How will they ever stay attached to the rims?
What kind of springs do you use on the 124019?
They were in my spares bin... so not sure what the are off
You should upgrade the tires on the sg 1603 something beefy that tire looked like it was getting shredded every time you sped off the rims are cool though

This Rc with slicks is so amazingly CRAZY. It goes top speed in about 1 second! I also have the best moter I can find and I have a much better battery and just with those it’s absolutely crazy and I was able to go 47 MPH

You can use the DumboRC ones with multiple receivers. They are really cheap, and very good
U guys need to use some good quality hex extenders with the bolt in the middle to widen that stance and that should lower the car even more and maybe get some weight in that thing

I’d really like to see a challenge to make the ZD racing Rocket S16 Porsche go 100 mph. I like the it but it’s certainly underwhelming when it comes to top speed.
