And a lot of people back in the day considered them a ‘boy band’. An Outstanding Live Band!

Duran Duran is at its best when each line is played and sung if not exactly as it was on the record, then at least cleanly and preserving the basic personality of the piece.
New Religion's beauty is in its quiet, in its ethereal, uncluttered whole notes, fortified by the iconic bass line and tastefully punctuated by Nile Rodgers-esque rhythm guitar. It is not a song for multiple wailing saxes, guitar shredding over the church-like, ethereal synths,, and the duetting tenor vocals thrown out of balance by having two singers instead of one, not singing the original higher line but clashing rather than harmonizing with Simon Lebon's vocal. The tempo is also on the slow side -- Lebon wrote exhausting lines for himself anyway, and having to compete with too much band at a slower speed forces him to start rapping.
Ye gods. It's like hearing Bach performed by a heavy metal guitarist. You might find it interesting at first but then you shudder and just think... No.

I wonder what year this was. Some people are jammin out. I watched a New Year's eve video in New York City of an early DD performance in 1982, just before they hit it massively huge in the US on MTV with Hungry Like the Wolf. At this NYE show, Simon said HLW was their new release. The people there were all having a fun time because it was New Year's eve, but I doubt any of them realized they were witnessing one of the most soon-to-be MTV legends and best 80s era band of all time! Would be interesting to track down some of those people who were at that show. Not many people can claim they saw DD in concert before they got famous. I would have liked to been at that show! (but I was only a pre-teen at that time)

Sorry You don't understand nothing about music. This is a great alternative funk version of new religion, with phenomenal drummer Steve Ferrone, a great Warren Cuccurullo on guitar and fantastic pure live playing of Duran Duran, with Simon Le Bon in very good vocal shape. The Strange Behaviour tour was on their best. DD were not only the original line up.
