This trident killer is extremely easy to build, and delivers all EXP and loot to the player :D This trident killer works on most mobs, and automatically applies the looting affect to them without the player needing to do anything! I hope that they keep this in the game and never "fix" it. If Mojang removes this it would drastically cause bedrock farms to suffer since we do not have the sweeping edge enchant.
They should give sweeping edge enchant which gives you sweeping edge, and by default the swords are spam.
iirc mojang said that the trident killer "works as intended" so they will not remove this

*UPDATE:* Beware when building this on a chunk border, chunk borders may break the redstone and cause all pistons to fire out of sync, breaking this. Check this video for how to find chunk borders, and avoid them while building this: czcams.com/video/X5q32h22fEc/video.html

I just finished building your raid farm, and I love it! I was finally able to build a great sword. One issue thought was the raiders were spawning on the bed and killing the villager. I fixed it by putting the villager in a separate leaf chamber, letting it connect to the bed, the covering the bed in leaves.
Dude,you can put a couple of leafs on the top of the bed.this will prevent the raid from spawning on the bed.

Had the same problem. Put the villager in a separate leaf pod and then putting leaves to block the bed has fixed it.

I just hooked up your last design to a a general mob farm that I was previously using fall damage on. It’s nice to be able to utilize looting and it works fine, but I have noticed some weirdness with the XP. It’ll bunch up at the bottom of the bubble column for a few seconds and then come up to me in packets.
I will make this change I think. Much simpler just flushing everything out of the kill chamber than rely on glitching a hopper-cart into a block and hear the dropper going off constantly.
i can not say how happy i am to find a trident killer that actually works in my mine craft world. the amount of stress from failed dizziness was diving me insane. so thanks for having a diazine that works.

For the life of me I could not make this work. My pistons would initially work, but would then quickly spazz out.
Checked chunk borders and that wasn't an issue.
I gave up trying to fix it normally.
Went back to caveman redstone and repeater to simply delay the the signal long enough to where they go one at a time.
This is awesome! this updated trident killer will make my mob farms SOOOO much better!

I did this for my creeper farm, works really great! Nice getting gun powder for rockets and free XP overnight with this trident killer!
This works so well! I put one under my passive mob farm (which is a dark room high in the air). I rigged it to come on only when mobs fall thru a trip wire. It runs about 4 seconds using a signal extender, then stops. I walk by to pick up the xp from time to time.

Silent, if you read this, I’m having trouble with the guardian farm you have. Most of The XP gets stuck in all the kill chambers, this happened after 1.16. I know you mentioned this in this video I don’t know how to fix it. Love your vids. 👍

On the note of endermen not able to get hit by projectiles. I was end busting and an enderman, that was trying to attack me, started floating away with white particles around it😬 it was hilarious but crazy how the shulker managed to hit it
Hello silent I just made your tree farms and really loved it but found out it was hard to break the logs after being separated. I wondering if you were making a way to break them or if you can.

Just built a skeleton farm using this killer and it works well! A FYI if you have your mobs dropping down a one block chute, Add a piston with a lever just before the kill chamber so you can block the mobs from entering the chamber if you have to work on it or change it for any reason.
I love how you explain how and why it all works rather than being like "here, build this".
gotta know how things work, so you can understand them and fix them if needed! :D

Replace ice blocks with magma for whirlpool of death. Excellent for guardian farms. Water source is no problem as there will always be three open source blocks at all times so it will regenerate every cycle.

Just made it for my gold farm but the items get stuck in the trident killer and don't come out. Any fix? Will having a hopper minecart beneath the ice work?
What I did to fix this was to water log the the piston he showed in the video.Then when he water logged the stairs I skipped that and water logged the piston to the left of where he placed the stairs.
any ideas why tridents keep disappearing from the crusher?
BR 1.17 but it was happening in 1.16 too.
for anyone looking for a 1.17 fix, change the 1 tick repeater to 4 ticks. Not perfect but every 5 seconds or so the items and xp will finally get flushed out the chamber

If you make a small hole connected to a water stream that “dumps” guardians into the killer and cover the blocks just above the pistons with glass except for the hole that the guardians enter from, will make this farm compatible with guardians. Ive basically combined JCPlayz’s guardian farm with my modified witch farm trident killer, it works pretty well. Got 2 double chests of prismarine in about two or three hours.
Hey Silent, I've been trying to create a good trident killer that could work in the nether as well. If you make a normal trident killer on iron bars, it seems to work, but sometimes on relog, the tridents fall underneath the bars (despite that being impossible.) Any way to fix that?
I tested Impaling IV and Impaling V.
Mobs with 10 hearts (zombie, skeleton, piglin zombie) both impaling IV and V will 2 hit kill them. So its okay to use impaling IV of you dont have impaling V
i might use this, because hopper minecarts have really been a pain recently

How close do you have to be to the kill chamber with a looting sword for the effect to work?
Trident killer was the biggest flex to Java Minecraft
Its not really that big a flex, an auto clicker and sweeping edge 3, mending and looting 3 do the same thing. And almost every farm is so much slower than a java farm, that you would rather just have that java farm, especially since bedrock simulation distance is so small
Silent, can you make an updated version with the new trident killer of some sort for your guardian farm.
I hope they never remove our ability to make trident killers. They are honestly the best.

The vast majority of the experience particles just get stuck in the 3 corners and never move to the other, I built multiple of these and I always get the same problem, do you have any solution?
Were they real particles or phantom particles? There used to be a glitch that disconnected the particle from its visual item. The phantom orbs would stop midstream, because the real (invisible) orb was at its destination. If you collected the invisible real orb, the phantom one would disappear too.

When using this trident killer I have found a that skeletons with thorn armor actually damages me and when afking overnight I died. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

So I built this for a cave spider spawner and I had some issues because the cave spiders initially were able to crawl under the trap door. I improvised by using a hopper in place of the front left ice block and connected it to a chest. Next I used a slab in front of the trap door and built the front out by one block and placed stairs over the chest to keep the water from flowing through. The trident didn’t get collected in the hopper and I no longer have cave spiders exiting the kill chamber XD overall this is the most efficient afk mob killer that still rewards xp!
Hey silent. So I have a must needed answer to a question. I made a trident farm for cave spiders. But I want the xp to fall out and not the cave spiders. How do I do this

You could instead built about 4 if this. In my case this method works well
ok so.... for the guardian farm you say this isnt the way.... ur way is the nether portal, or nether portal + individual trident killer pero spawn.

Hello, thanks for maing this vid it was easy to understand. Ive got a little problem though, when i first started using the trident killer it worked fine for a few days, but for some reason the ive at the bottom started randomly breaking/disappearing (rather disappearing as theres no breaking sound) its like every few minutes one of the 4 ice blocks. i am on a Realm server with some friends, so is this due to some server issues or is there something else behind that?
If you used regular ice you need to use packed ice or blue ice
