To make the trident killer a bit more compact, face the observers so they are looking downward, and use slabs/glass for placing your redstone on so it doesn’t lock your hoppers. Just tested it and it works fantastic! Same crazy speed, but in a much smaller footprint. It will be my new go-to trident killer design.

Do you mean the dot pointing down and the face pointing up, so that it sees the signal in the Redstone Dust line pass over it?

I might be wrong, but I think the reason why the skulk spread is because you used deepslate which is found in ancient cities and has the skulk replaceable tag, whereas in the test world you used quartz. I hope my guess is right and this helps. Loved the episode and keep up the great work!

I made a small change to this design, where I added a repeater right after the redstone torch. Made a nice difference. The timing seems to be perfect.
I’ve further changed each repeater to have one tic of delay. It still runs really fast, but mobs are still instantly dying.

Navynexus used a similar one in his gold farm (1 portal)
On your trident killer collection system, face all the hoppers directly into the chests rather than into the back of a hopper then the chest. With all of them facing into the chests you have 4 hoppers unloading directly into the chests at a time instead of only 2. Just a small thing to help speed up the collection system a little bit.
Also move each hopper minecart so that it spans multiple hoppers so that they can be unloaded faster... ideally 4 hoppers per hopper minecart. With a farm that can generate so many drops you really have to ensure your storage can keep up otherwise if you AFK for enough time you'll start to lose drops due to despawning once the storage system buffer is full.
Prior to powdered snow, your redstone goes around the portal frame. This means that the circuit doesn't have to be that high. I always built mine with the dispenser 3 blocks up from the bottom of the portal. It won't block the pigmen no matter which side they come out of and your water blade will only travel 2 blocks then dissipate (providing you don't leave the source out for too long)
I thought zombified piglins just pops out from just one side
@@vaxterouxph ever build one and not check? I have. Using flowing water can catch them from either side. The point was to help with his water blade problem without inadvertently adding another problem...and for info others may not have in the future.

I have a 6x max portal farm on a realm and this is the ONLY trident killer that I have tried that doesnt choke up on mobs over time. A big thank you and subscribed!
I love the redesign of the trident killer. It works well for you situation.
I wonder if there’s a way to use pointed drip stone as the floor to reduce how far you need to drop a mob but still have the trident killer work.
Dripstone causes all kinds of issues. For example, items will land on top of it and can't be picked up by a hopper (you can't put dripstone on a hopper minecart). The problem is made worse in that Bedrock hoppers don't 'see' items on top of non-full blocks in the same way as Java either. They won't pick up from below some of the same type of blocks that they can on Java edition.
I saw the creeper (the second one) sneaking up on you - I shouted 'creeper' then rolled my eyes at myself (obviously I was way too late to tell you I saw a creeper, lol). Nice fix-ups on the design.
Sculk doesnt spread from the block it spreads from where the entity is killled and bc your constantly breaking it with the piston its no issue on your not test world idk but thats the reason i think

Skulk will spread to only natural blocks. You left dirt at the bottom of the trident killer. Love the video
My favorite trident killer is Silent’s impaling 5 design. He slows it down to assumable prevent the weird piston firing order you encountered.
That ones slowed down so spiders can fit in it. And any mob thats not a 1 block wide hitbox
It also helps push items and xp out of the hole on the side. If I forget to slow the repeater the items get stuck and don’t flush out.

Idk what the damage is for just a regular item, but with an enchanted trident it should just be a one hit k.o. I did not know you could enchant a flint and steel

The blocks above the trident place 4 snow from buckets and use 3 impaling tridents. I have mine drop from only 7 blocks. No lag from pigs but a lot from xp.
Your design looks as fast as the one I recommended, but its quite big. I hoped you'd try it.

You should filter the items and stick shulker box loader and put the sword through a furnace
(I'm not good at English so I use gg translate) If you use an empowered trident you don't need to build it on high, just build it on the ground and let the zombie pig fall and die. In the porting part you can use 4 observers, 1 in 4 opposite direction to the other 3 and for lava above the observer, placing 8 trapdoors on either side of it will spread fire faster and no need to use flint and steel
Lava will not work. Fire does not burn on this server

the design I use for the trident killer is just as fast but it takes an extra 2 sticky pistons and some redstone torches but it only uses 1 observer instead of 4. building it this way also lets it work properly as an xp farm because you can place an upsidedown stair to let the xp through. less lag

I must be missing something - is there a downside to your having too many levels?
I have never got impaling without either loyalty or riptide from an enchanting table. I always end up needing a book for that.
I have, it is time and level consuming though. Was much easier with cheaty furnaces.
@@IceHeart2671 even with cheat furnaces I've wasted stacks of lapis without getting a usable impaling trident. Ended up just making an impaling villager for it.
Is the dropper being powered directly going to affect the hopper in the sorting system next to it?
Probably not much as it's the second of rotten flesh but it could lead to odd back ups in that area.

It seems like your flint & steel is activating once every time the powder snow dispenser is activating. But only every other time would actually do something (because it cant light until the snow gets retracted). Is that wasting flint and steel twice as fast? Or does it not use durability if the portal cannot be lit?

Water prevents fall damage
One question, why are you using an axe on bedrock? Swords do more damage
It takes the same number of hits with an axe as a sword for all mobs except guardians and the warden. It saves an inventory slot not having a sword too

and here is me thinking you discovered a game changer trident killer, well, here is the thing with trident killers and gold farms: you don't mix those two together, the amount of gold swords that clogs up the collection system makes it unworth it at all, unless you have like 10 allays throwing the swords in lava, use powder snow or dripstone to kill the piglens, don't waste your time with a trident killer.
Mine works. Use a water stream from inside the trident killer (the base of the killer being packed ice) and push all drops out onto a standard filter array. It copes just fine. I think it was NavyNexus where I saw it and based my build on.
I think you need to build a better collection system. You can use 4 hopper minecarts going into 4 separate item streams to maximize flow. LOTS of XP and just dump the swords into lava at the end of the filters.

I wondered that myself, but having an impaling 5 trident in water makes up for it by killing them so fast I think
