Did you know there was a man working on the original angry birds game who wanted a third "faction" called the Ghoulish Golums. But they were called so horrificly ugly by everyone else working on the game that he was actually fired. This guy spent ten years trying to figure out some way of using this character design. He ended up getting it used in a of for the binding of isaac called "Fiend Folio". This is shortly before he requested the devs add a cum item

Dude I just recently downloaded the very very old versions of the old Angry Birds games, meaning no powerups, ads etc. Angry Birds Seasons is my personal favorite. It's genuinely depressing how badly they fell off. The old games are so much more fun and better then their current games.
I played angry birds 2 recently and rekindled all the memories of angry birds. The main thing for me was the soundtracks and that got me teary eyed

@@Kinggrave I loved the fresh coat of paint that they gave AB2 compared to the original, but it took all of about 10 minutes for me to realize how every single new mechanic was to screw you over and weasel more money out of you.
It's just tragic that every version of Angry Birds and every spinoff went sharply downhill with updates and/or vanished. I have relatively obscure PC copies of Bad Piggies and Angry Birds Space which are better off than the mobile versions ended up simply because they don't drown you in ads and microtransactions.
It would have been nice if they brought back Angry Birds Seasons; the soundtrack was brilliant- but from what I’ve read Rovio basically wiped all traces of the old games from their hardware when they got delisted, hence why the remake is trash.

I remember playing this angry birds space game which had special physics and gravitational pulls since its in space, a angry birds game which was like normal angry birds but with some extra characters and it was really well animated, having the pigs emote when you are preparing to fire at them. Kinda wished they did more of that, more original/well made content with angry birds slapped over it or actually adding/refining the concept of angry birds.
Space was like the best, I still got it on my iPhone 11

As a finnish person i think i may have a solution to why we make so many videogames. It's because we're socially inept.
Not even neighbors talk to eachother, there's 5 million people in Finland and everyone lives so far apart just because we don't like interacting with other human beings.

was surprised to hear pyro mention Fear and Hunger. Amazing game, def has some dark themes but it's got an otherwise metal as fuck vibe and is pretty tricky to learn the ropes, good for masochists/ppl who like a good challenge + cool world building lore stuff too.

Hey Pyro I heard that for Fear and Hinger you can go into the files and insert a Censor box on the nudity portions, and it should cover all encounters, it's prosblt harder to do but potentially possible

I remember as a kid back in 2009 before Angry Birds came out, there was a very popular Flash game called Crush The Castle, which to this day I haven't seen improved upon. Even better was that because it was Flash, it could be played in school too!
Anyway, it was part of a larger group of games, simply tagged as "Artillery", as the main point was to demolish a building by throwing projectiles at it.
I have no idea where you got Dead Tree Defender. Even Wikipedia lists CtC as the main inspiration.
Also I heard on another video about why mobile gaming sucks that it was SuperCell, another company from here Finland, who made the current F2P model popular. And some Finnish indie devs around the country who are in a proper developer school have said they feel sickened by the "mature adults" during video game conferences talking about how to gain more money by scammy monetization.

On streams he basically has to meet a quota of things to play, react, or do in order to have a backlog of content for daily uploads in this channel
It doesn't really matter what the content is, as Pyro himself is a big part of the experience, so as long as there is enough to make a video over the 8:00 minute mark, he will make it. And so the editors do their work.
This gives pyro a lot of mental refresh, funds and time to work on main channel videos, which is a good thing, but we're the Pyrocynical fanbase, so we'll make fun of him anyway.
Honestly sucks that Angry Birds fell off as hard as it did, I genuinely was obsessed with the franchise during my early secondary school days when it was one of three games I had on my phone (the others being Jetpack Joyride and Cut The Rope, as any 12 year old in the early 2010s had installed on their first smartphone).
I still have plushies of the pigs, I bought the Field of Dreams DLC for Bad Piggies, heck I remember the weird era when they had figures you could buy with tiny QR codes that you placed on top of a magnifying glass trinket on top of your phone's front camera to get the figure as a costume. I had the Angry Birds Card Game (they made a card game), Angry Birds tabletop games, one of the LEGO sets, what have you. Even into my mid-teens, I still adored Angry Birds. I still do now, as a young adult, even if it is just nostalgic fondness for the first form of entertainment I had on a mobile phone.
I'd say that the first movie (which, mind you, I watched and it was actually enjoyable) was the nail in the coffin for Rovio. They started trying to change the artstyle in promotional stuff to fit the movie more (rather than just keeping the old game artstyle), began shelving older spinoff games that were actually decent (Epic, Go and Fight were actually fun and had personality, even if they were all basically clones of existing popular titles), and then eventually canned the classic slingshot games. Then they made a broken remake (in terms of the physics being inaccurate and, in some cases, actually unplayable as a result), and then canned it entirely again.
Imagine killing your legacy because it doesn't make you enough money and doesn't "look good on your portfolio". God damn, they made ANGRY BIRDS. That's a good enough portfolio in my opinion.

Rovio made one of my favorites mobile games, VERY OLD older than angry birds, it was a horror puzzle game where monster would hide in the shadows and you had to find ways to complete stages making your path bright etc, still never forgot that game and no one knows about it

Angry Birds holds a lot of memories for me, alongside Cat Physics, Paper Toss, Graffiti Ball and the Papa Louie games. Similarly owned an iPod Touch and had practically every cool kidz game installed on it when I was prolly like 8 or 9

As of just recently, Angry Birds was “revived” at my school. Like everyone’s playing it now. So it’s nice to know that is hasn’t died completely, it just comes in and out of trends sometimes
As the long-time Angry Birds fan, I'll also bite in. Despite all that happened (and Rovio just soft-hid all the apps from stores and switched off updates, I could still find those apps in my download history at Google Play), I doubt that you can call the franchise completely dead. It still has a great community, mostly from nostalgic grown-ups and stuff. And Rovio kind of keeps in touch with them now, dodging the ignorance strat entirely (shout-out to Buck the community manager guy, he's pretty cool I guess). So I think there may be a soft renaissance, and though the birds definitely fell off, their legacy will remain.
Also Bad Piggies 2 is surely coming guys, and this is no copium, we will actually get more Highfleet for toddlers content... E V E N T U A L L Y
Btw, Angry Birds Transformers has a LITERAL FIRE OF A SOUNDTRACK, produced by the same guy who stood behind the original 1986 movie score (Vince Dicola)! It reeks of synthwave, and it genuinely feels like a nice homage to all those 80's cartoons.
@@thesabzin 'Eggbot Activity Detected!' in particular is a masterpiece of a track imo. Whenever I would play any stage on ABT years ago I’d be thinking, "Who did they get to make this soundtrack? It’s just for a mobile game!".
@@paradox2210 my favourite was the "Pig City" theme. It just has the BEST guitar riff, not talking about the main synthesiser part! It's kind of weird how FAR a soundtrack can go while STILL having slivers of the original Angry Birds leitmotif hidden.

Road to Vostok, the new survival shooter game is also being developed by a Finnish solo dev. Hopefully that game turns out well, it's still early in development but it seems interesting.

my only angry birds memory is, around 2010-2011, being in line at the telstra store for a photo op with a famous footy player and the telstra lady going around with an ipad and there being some kind of prize for getting the high score. didn’t win but the photo i took with the footy player did end up in our local paper

I used to play angry birds transformers as a kid. I loved it and I got so far in the game. Didn’t buy anything. Until one day a few years ago, I came back and the game had reset me and I was back to square one. I was legitimately sad because that game was part of my childhood. The stupidest thing about Angry Birds was how at some point along the line they completely overhauled the entire game, making it nothing like how it originally released. They pumped it full of micro-transactions and new shit to the point where it just wasn't even fun to play. It's like if Nintendo magically updated every cartridge of the original Super Mario Bros on NES to include 10 new characters, locked the Mushroom powerup behind a paywall, and made you watch an ad at the start of every level.

Bethesda unlisting skyrim le wouldn't stop you from playing it. It's still in both of our steam libraries. Plus, SE now has better mod support than le and is far more stable.
I remember playing angry birds star wars and its sequel and just honestly enjoying my time, the cool powerups based on star wars were super cool and then one day it was just gone. I was so god damn upset.

I’m sorry to tell you this Pyro, but Angry Birds did indeed have a fanbase. And it still does now, because we’re passionate about these games that shaped our childhoods. Not all of the games are good, but quite a few of them are entertaining hidden gems.

I used to fucking love angry birds, as a kid it felt like a warm hug and peaked when i played epic. It started to wear off after ab2 and then came those match 3 apps, I played some of them but dropped them almost instantly.
