What stuns me is that they didn't hold the "15" year old in detention while verifying his age. That he absconded was no surprise.
The border/customs doesn't have the jurisdiction to hold them once they claim asylum. It was then up to social services to keep track of the people.

His scam worked. The challenge was just boarding the plane in Nigeria with fake documents. He was schooled in using the loopholes like they said.

The UK has a big problem of people taking advantage of their system, like Bensom who was being processed for asylum and then disappeared. This is so dangerous for their own citizens. He lied throughout and should have been deported back to Lagos.

That lady clearly wanted to give birth in the states unfortunately. She got caught she knew what she was doing.
People ask why did she wait so long? Getting US visa at an embassy in most countries not in the western world is a headache. The waiting list, the getting pregnant part on time to coincide with delivery and visa appointments can be tricky and the embassy could hold off if they know what she’s up to (US passport) to embarrassed her at the gate.
Well maybe we should pay the UK to guard our borders because we certainly are not up to the job

I’m sorry, but airlines all need to get together and pick a pregnancy level across the board. As it stands you could very easily be allowed to travel on airline A, and base your return flight on that same rule, but not be able to return as airline B bans you.
If that happens then airline A is responsible for returning them to their origin.
Same thing if airline A let you fly with expired ID then they have to let you return home with the expired ID

I live in Arizona close to the border you would never believe how many pregnant women show up at the border ready to give birth because they know that if the child is born in the United States they will be able to say that they are an American. I worked with a woman who did just this. They were from an African country and I can’t remember the name but every baby that was in their family was born in the USA. They deliberately came here for the child to be born. And then they go home. I’m so glad to see at least one of these people having to answer for what they’re doing.
