      Dunnid la SAR 21 is pretty much made to be "point where, shoot where kind of rifle" when they talk about "follow-through" for the trigger I find that actually a myth. When you pull the trigger slowly it actually pulls the weapon slightly off to the right. When you squeeze the trigger quickly the force doesn't affect the weapon as much and if you handle the weapon properly eg correct hand placement on the barrel, correct butt pressure and no "chicken wing" then the shot will still be accurate. Proper breathing technique is also much more important.

    I forgot about this weapon. I assume SAR 21 is Singapore/Singaporean or Special Assaults Rifle 21st century. Like the Israeli TAR 21 Tactical Assault Rifle 21st now the Tavor century or South Africas CR 21 Carbine Rifle 21st century. Kalashnikov is way easier to field strip reassemble 40 or less seconds total. The SAR looks pretty complex. Singapore also make the Ultimax 100 LMG. Thanks for sharing.

    • @Cptjonmiller
      @Cptjonmiller Před 2 lety +3

      The disassembly of the SAR 21 is actually very easy. In typical field strip conditions, the SAR 21 comes apart into 5 different parts vs Kalashnikov 4, and that is because the firing pin of the Kalashnikov is not typically removed. If we disregard the removal of the firing pin on the SAR 21, it only comes apart to 3 different components, which is even less than the Kalashnikov. A typical solider should be able to disassemble the SAR 21 in less than 30 seconds, my personal best being 8 seconds including removal of magazine and safety checks.

      Well, this weapons is built for conscripts in mind, mainly ease of use and ease of assembly. It is definitely a much easier weapon to field strip than an AR-style platform. My record for field stripping (including all the required safety checks) is 11 seconds. The only complains I'd have is I would very much prefer either iron sights or red dots rather than scopes as scopes can induce inaccuracy through parallax error. Other minor nitpicks are the mag release, bolt release and fire selector. Other than that, I feel that it's an extremely reliable rifle.

    M16 S1 has longer effective range, but is longer in overall length, has normal eye iron sights. SAR21 is bullpup design, thus giving it a shorter overall length (good for fighting in confined spaces, tank crew), has a shorter barrel, thus shorter effective range, optical sights. Though the M16 has a longer effective range, its aiming system is normal iron sights and for user with poorer vision, the SAR21's optical sights helps. No point if the rifle can shoot far but has a poor aiming system - you will miss anyway. Down side is if you aim with a scope, you tends not to be able to see what is happeneing around you. With an iron sights, you can still see what is happening around you. The SAR21 can be customized. The barrel can be changed to a longer one and optical scope to a greater magnification, making it a sharpshooter rifle in a platoon. SAR21 still uses the 5.56mm calibre ammunition. The SAR21 has a long recoil travel, so it does not jerk much when fired as compared to the M16, improving accuracy with repeated fire, but makes its rate of fire slower. Trigger reset feel is very poor.

    • @Unteroffizier
      @Unteroffizier Před 4 lety

      @@P53eud0nym05 I know - we had to force the magazines onto the ground before the weapon can fire. That was due to the magazines. They need to be replaced. Nothing wrong with the guns. The M16 S1 and SAR21 both have their pros and cons. But i like the M16 S1 bolt carrier system and the fact that i can reload the magazine fast and with ease, and the closed bolt system makes the weapon fast and ready for action once a magazine is replaced. The SAR21 Bullpup system makes reloading slower because of the position of the magazine within the gun. SAR-21 (Bullpup) system rifles also tends to be badly balanced in my opinion. I would rather use the American M4 Carbine. The weapon still uses the 5.56mm calibre, is similar in construction of the bolt carrier and charging system with the M16, is lighter has a shorter barrel, rifle butt can be retracted, and with the option to fit a scope. Seems like Singapore military wants to ready our Soldiers for the future with an all new rifle, but if i were to go into action i will personally want a rifle like the M4 Carbine- light, efficient with options for add-ons and scope attachment to improve aiming.

    • @anikiace2253
      @anikiace2253 Před 4 lety +1

      wrong info. the S1 has the same barrel length as the SAR21, a 20in/50cm barrel.
      so no, the S1 doesnt have a longer effective range when they are shooting the same bullet.
      the advantage of the bullpup is the relocation of the bolt assembly into the otherwise empty buttstock.
      behind the trigger, without changing the barrel length.
      this effectively shortened the whole weapon by ~8-10in/20-25cm without affecting range and power.
      becos the barrel length remains the same.
