another thing about bobo shooters;
they not only miss their own lane targets, they actually manage to shoot at others’ targets in the neighbouring lanes and end up stealing points 🤣
lol... bobo shooters can end up in 1 detail...
No left hand gun in Singapore :(
Netizens ofsingapore Yeah that one sucks, I’m left handed so I’d naturally lean my gun on the left shoulder but thanks to the SAR21 I had to force myself to learn to shoot and aim with the right eye, and I’d say it worked out well in the end.
thats one of the funniest part of bmt, my score came out as 35/32 because others shot my target
I’m quite doubtful about “stealing points”, it’ll be more of “giving away points” because they don’t track the bullet for score, more of the number of times the target is hit
I like the fact that she learns to open both eyes while firing. Decent technique.
Cb we didnt even get this kind of coaching when we live firing
YA LO
Of course lah this one civilian 😂
The circumstances are different when you only have to instruct a couple people.
Dunnid la SAR 21 is pretty much made to be "point where, shoot where kind of rifle" when they talk about "follow-through" for the trigger I find that actually a myth. When you pull the trigger slowly it actually pulls the weapon slightly off to the right. When you squeeze the trigger quickly the force doesn't affect the weapon as much and if you handle the weapon properly eg correct hand placement on the barrel, correct butt pressure and no "chicken wing" then the shot will still be accurate. Proper breathing technique is also much more important.
Western male journalist: “Firing a rifle gave me PTSD.”
Singaporean female journalists: “We’re going to ruin this guy’s career.”

2:24 The reason why the girl in specs didn't get to shoot.
Literally under the armpit
And she kept pointing the rifle at the instructor
Modern advancements in Ar15/ m4 type rifles really makes it the best weapon. It's got a variety of gas systems, ammunition, modular configurations and generally have free floated barrels. Which with half way decent ammo shoot sub MOA at 100 yds and are capable of body shots at up to 700 yds with 5.56 which there are even better types of ammo out now.
At least they had a few hrs to learn.
We had a few mins to learn.
Sar 21 is very easy. I think less than 10mins is fine.
@@oonweijie3487 must see your instructors good or not lah.
The optical scope is really important for our local soldiers cos goodness knows the majority of them wear glasses. If their glasses get knocked off for any reason, guess what...the scope compensates. Smart move, ST Engineering.
Wait wat u mean the scope can focus with myopia?
@@Acstasy it’s 1.5x scope so to some minor extent yes but not a deliberate choice. It’s main purpose is that with the scope is easier to learn to aim compared to iron sights on the old M16 rifles
@@DC-ru5xz Really? I find that it's much easier to get parallax error with the 1 point aiming with the scope than with the 2 point aiming with iron sights. I find it easier to get accurate shots with the M16 than the SAR 21.

Very interesting, nice to see the SAR21 in action :)
Greetings from France !
I really liked to see the air powered training range. That idea alone would be a major tool for training. Still, she had a lot of careful supervision. Plus, she was willing to do it.
The SAR 21 has a 50cm barrel, same as that on the M16A1-A4. It's just that it's an overall shorter weapon due to the bullpup configuration
Yes you can buy from other country, but it is fun to design your own weapons too if you have the ability, capability and talent. Don't depend on others all the time on your national defenses.

I have to appreciate that despite the fact that she has on multiple occasions flagged this poor instructor with the barrel of that sar21, he has maintained his cool and not yelled at her once period I'm assuming he is fully aware that she is probably never handled something like that before not to mention I'm quite sure it's not loaded. that chicken wing...
Good thing she improved
Evening, well done, you had a good rig on. An the rifle looks easy-going. Thanks for sharing. Atb Andy
She didn't check clear before commencing to strip. During my NS, this is required.
its a great rifle the recoil is low enough for those small women to hand and is designated to eb easy to clean which matters a lot for those high humidity countries
Encik Koh...the SAR 21 has the same barrel length as an M16...just saying...1 is a bullpup and 1 is a conventional rifle..I think you are referring to shorter rifle length?
It would be very nice to try and even own the simulator rifle system.
(Second best after owning the real SAR-21 rifle. Especially the military version...)
Looks like compressed air cycles the gun and simulates the recoil in simulator rifle.
I won't deny this is very educational and accurate
This is my Holy Grail gun. Super rare in the USA and other country's, I would love to own one of these.
Mine is a full-auto Ultimax, but that is more of a unicorn.
M4 and M16A4 have a Picatinny rail, usually mounted with Trijicon ACOG sights. Misleading to compare with old M16 with iron sights. SAR21 bullpup design is less intuitive for magazine changes.
I forgot about this weapon. I assume SAR 21 is Singapore/Singaporean or Special Assaults Rifle 21st century. Like the Israeli TAR 21 Tactical Assault Rifle 21st now the Tavor century or South Africas CR 21 Carbine Rifle 21st century. Kalashnikov is way easier to field strip reassemble 40 or less seconds total. The SAR looks pretty complex. Singapore also make the Ultimax 100 LMG. Thanks for sharing.
The disassembly of the SAR 21 is actually very easy. In typical field strip conditions, the SAR 21 comes apart into 5 different parts vs Kalashnikov 4, and that is because the firing pin of the Kalashnikov is not typically removed. If we disregard the removal of the firing pin on the SAR 21, it only comes apart to 3 different components, which is even less than the Kalashnikov. A typical solider should be able to disassemble the SAR 21 in less than 30 seconds, my personal best being 8 seconds including removal of magazine and safety checks.
Looks like a nice gun. Straight forward intuitive as even civilian can operate
It is a nice gun its designed for safety of the user mostly so the recoil is pretty weak compared to most ars plus if the gun somehow malfunctions its designed not too endanger the user by blowing away from the user
@houghwhite411 good videos bruh
I like the army guy very kind and gentle
Shes pretty ok for a first timer , I hope they will have more respect for the NS boys and men that have to lug this weapon every year
True
Singaporean men have it tough to learn this during their teo year ns journey
Please forgive my ignorance but i think the SAR21 do not have a shorter barrel but rather a shorter rifle length due to the bullpup design which the action is behind rather then the M16 series with the action infront. If i am not wrong, both have the same barrel length therefore achieving the same velocity for the 5.56 cartridge.
Nope not wrong..not ignorant also..both models have a 20inch barrel length..one of the first things that was taught when we shifted from the M16S1 to SAR21 in unit last time.
You are right. I think encik say wrong.
Engineer : explaining over safety features etc
Interviewer mind :
looked sketch early on
when it seemed she was scared
to hold the rifle tight to her shoulder
but she fixed that by later... its a primary
novice mistake that makes the firearm
LESS comfortable and controlled... 3
things help control the gun and
increase comfort -- the weight
of the gun... the weight of
the shooter... the weight
of the earth -- so when
you unify all 3 w/ a proper
hold and position then shooting
is many hundred % better/comfy
The thing is sadly they dont do prvate open range where anyone can shoot any kinda rifle like other countries
Mothership ladies: Nice I get to fire this SAR21!
Malay ladies:
Edit: No offence to all the actual female soldiers defending for our country. You girls are amazing! Stay strong!
What does Malay even have to do with this??
What is the joke? I'm completely missing it.
I'm impressed by the professionalism of the instructors. Those two females didn't fair too bad either considering their lack of familiarity with firearms. That aside, I'm more familiar with the M4 carbine but the SAR-21 doesn't look too bad either.
SAR 21 vs ARs, I would go for AR. Its easier to handle
I'd go for the Remington 700.
Well, this weapons is built for conscripts in mind, mainly ease of use and ease of assembly. It is definitely a much easier weapon to field strip than an AR-style platform. My record for field stripping (including all the required safety checks) is 11 seconds. The only complains I'd have is I would very much prefer either iron sights or red dots rather than scopes as scopes can induce inaccuracy through parallax error. Other minor nitpicks are the mag release, bolt release and fire selector. Other than that, I feel that it's an extremely reliable rifle.
I think the SAR is really easy to use compared to the M16 - I definitely got a lot more target hits with the SAR than with the M16 - but the M4 is SO FREAKING LIGHT I LOVE IT
You would love our LMG, the Ultimax.
0:40 muzzle discipline
wow Singapore got own weapon, when Malaysia have one, kudos to them
Her trigger control even at the end also cmi. jia lat. not very hard to squeeze until the firing point, take aim and finish of the trigger. but sluggish triggering is problem with bullpup design bah.
"Lightweight and designed for SAF soldier build" Let's compare the unloaded weight with other well known assault rifles around the world.
M16S1: 2.97kg
AK-47: 3.47kg
AUG: 3.8kg
SAR-21: 4kg
Meanwhile the SAR-21 version with M203 you see at 2:42 weighs 5.3kg. The old M16 with M203 weighs 3.99kg. SAR-21 lightweight sia.
its difficult to beat the lightweight of the M16/AR15 platform. Bullpups end up weighing a bit more
Yea, part of the increased weight comes from the integrated LAD. Remove that and it'll probably come in around 3 ~ 3.2
I mean, it's still pretty light given the strength of the average man.
Makes for a better bludgeon if need be, less recoil, trains our arms too.
A good defensive AUG-style weapon. LOW recoil but slower rate of fire. Still prefer the M4 carbine.
Venneth Chan kalash anyday
i prefer mg42
They should be made to clean the rifle after use.
M16 is better. It is lighter, fire more shot per minutes, easy to maintain and carry.
She can shoot with both eyes open. Good

Completed my 2.5 yrs with M16 and spent my reservist on SAR 21. Believe it or not, I can still remember how to strip and assemble an M16, but I can never seem to remember how for the SAR21 despite the (almost) annual refresher...

My buddy during BMT got his helmet masking taped and written "beware bobo shooter". 🤣
in my unit got 1 super BOBO SHOOTER, he would cock the charging handle after every shot and tell the IC my rifle no bullet already even though we are on the 2 shot of 6, other times he would shoot my target, so i would get full score but return a full magazine

cute girls! I was expecting them to cry! :)
7:17 And do not leave YOUR Weapon! (Just an observation)
M16 S1 has longer effective range, but is longer in overall length, has normal eye iron sights. SAR21 is bullpup design, thus giving it a shorter overall length (good for fighting in confined spaces, tank crew), has a shorter barrel, thus shorter effective range, optical sights. Though the M16 has a longer effective range, its aiming system is normal iron sights and for user with poorer vision, the SAR21's optical sights helps. No point if the rifle can shoot far but has a poor aiming system - you will miss anyway. Down side is if you aim with a scope, you tends not to be able to see what is happeneing around you. With an iron sights, you can still see what is happening around you. The SAR21 can be customized. The barrel can be changed to a longer one and optical scope to a greater magnification, making it a sharpshooter rifle in a platoon. SAR21 still uses the 5.56mm calibre ammunition. The SAR21 has a long recoil travel, so it does not jerk much when fired as compared to the M16, improving accuracy with repeated fire, but makes its rate of fire slower. Trigger reset feel is very poor.
@@P53eud0nym05 I know - we had to force the magazines onto the ground before the weapon can fire. That was due to the magazines. They need to be replaced. Nothing wrong with the guns. The M16 S1 and SAR21 both have their pros and cons. But i like the M16 S1 bolt carrier system and the fact that i can reload the magazine fast and with ease, and the closed bolt system makes the weapon fast and ready for action once a magazine is replaced. The SAR21 Bullpup system makes reloading slower because of the position of the magazine within the gun. SAR-21 (Bullpup) system rifles also tends to be badly balanced in my opinion. I would rather use the American M4 Carbine. The weapon still uses the 5.56mm calibre, is similar in construction of the bolt carrier and charging system with the M16, is lighter has a shorter barrel, rifle butt can be retracted, and with the option to fit a scope. Seems like Singapore military wants to ready our Soldiers for the future with an all new rifle, but if i were to go into action i will personally want a rifle like the M4 Carbine- light, efficient with options for add-ons and scope attachment to improve aiming.
wrong info. the S1 has the same barrel length as the SAR21, a 20in/50cm barrel.
so no, the S1 doesnt have a longer effective range when they are shooting the same bullet.
the advantage of the bullpup is the relocation of the bolt assembly into the otherwise empty buttstock.
behind the trigger, without changing the barrel length.
this effectively shortened the whole weapon by ~8-10in/20-25cm without affecting range and power.
becos the barrel length remains the same.
This gun is very accurate in BF4.
Oh and the hours of waiting at the range ... ... nothing is more helpful for range accuracy than waiting for hours just to shoot the few rounds. And more waiting.
Bruh I rmb last time when I was Sec 3 most of us in NCC cannot cock back the weapon lmao 😂

Just asking can i use the iron sights on the scope instead
I had a female platoon in the same company as us during my bmt. No offense, but it was really funny when we had our rifle drills. Literally the entire female platoon failed the rifle drills test because they couldnt cock the rifle properly. They were still having their secondary tests while we were on admin time.
Its not even that they didnt know how to do it, they literally didnt have the strength to pull the lever back.
I want to shoot like this also no chance, cuz PES E. Nearest place to go is Thailand or Vietnam liao
