I need to be up there by U cause ion like dirty bike but the old Kx I'll love to have one of them to add to my old bike COLLECTION got a 85 lt250r a 87 trx 250r just some about older bike is better then this new bike

Someone probably tightened the crap out of that chain so the bike could move without skipping teeth on the sprockets

Electricians tape makes a perfect ‘temporary’ fix for the rubber inlet boots on the carb dude 👌🏼 just throwing that out there
I've seen people buy large shrink wrap and use high temperature silicon sealant in the crack with shrink wrap around the boot to seal it.
I can second that! Bit of superglue on the boot first then then electrical tape
Black permatex is oil resistant and works perfect. Clean it with brake clean first,and wipe off with clean rag , then when it dries press the permatex in cracks

I’m talking a temporary fix here guys to get you home in a situation or to run an engine when waiting for delivery of a new boot or whatever the circumstances may be. I’d not wanna make a half arsed job of attempting a ‘permanent fix’
Rule #1, open air box before kicking bike over if it’s been sitting! Nothing like fur and poo to help the crank seals work lol!
Watch quite a few of these vids and always wondered why you check oil after you first start.

I bought some liquid electric tape and that would work good for a quick fix on the carb boot so ya I'd try that it's liquid electric tape .godbless and stay safe

I had an 85 kx 125 and it was a fun bike.
That kx sounds really good you should just make 2 bikes out of them would be sick as and try do a really good job on this sounds like a solid engine
its crazy a few years back if a dirt bike looked like that with numbers you would walk away, both of them look like they have been rinsed their whole lives but now guys are falling over themselves to get one...anyone anything will do. i am surprised it had such good compression my next thought would be the gearbox is funked as bikes with good compression like that are usually still being ridden

They are money pits ! I just completely restored a '96 KX125. I spent way to much money and time on that bike, and after finishing it March, I hated it. I guess I'm spoiled riding modern KTM's so I sold it a couple weeks ago at a loss but enjoyed building it. No more old bikes for me.

Haha, compression test with throttle open, hmm, no carburetor on it, but it does have excellent compression.
Do you just buy these to get started or trying to restore them
You go through bikes and quads faster then underwear nowadays. Keep up the good work.
Putting oil in the cylinder before doing a compression test will give you a false reading.

Dude where you find these things?? Those are cool, I have a 89 kx125. I rebuild the whole bike. Also have a 89 kx125 complete roller minus the motor. Got it for $75 from a grandma lol. Would love to find a motor for that. Anyway do your thing, love the content.

It’s supposed to be 125-190 psi when it gets down towards 125 u ring it

I traded away an 86 I had never ran it cause I didn’t dig far into it
cut a round piece of steel diameter of inside the silencer leaving it big enough to flatten the outside edge say half inch.drill the centre of the steel same size as tube going through silencer.fit the round plate in end of silencer with tube goin through it then rivet the plat edge onto the silencer skin. silencer then repaired

Those bikes both need fixed u need find another one to use as parts or just eBay parts
The gas that’s in is probably better than that cheap ass Lucas oil u use lol go buy some 927 or factory Yamaha it’s cheap
