    Owner of a 2017 Veloce from new. NEVER noticed any wind noise from A-pillar, in four and half years of driving extensively all over the UK at speed. Also never had any problems in that time, no breakdowns whatsoever....... VERY RELIABLE!

      @trevorsutherland5263 Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, 2017 Ti here in the States. Honestly was surprised they couldn't fix the wind noise as I would assume something just loose or not seated correctly. Though I'm sitting on the opposite side, I've never noticed any unusual wind noise in the Giulia. My bet is something in there isn't seated. I'm at 50K miles never been back to the dealer for anything (I do not have the satnav).

      I have the 2020 Veloce Ti (from Germany)
      Also never had windnoise problems. But i have the thicker glass Windows. Perhaps there is a Difference. Never had an issue in 15.000 km

    Great video, thanks! I am just looking to buy a new car and had my decision on a A4 B9 2.0T but some day I just saw a Giulia driving past me and I don't want anything else than Giulia. It's a perfect car. Haven't even tested one, have registered for a test drive this week but as far as I know about that car, I believe that I'll be in love with her. This blue with yellow callipers is insane!

    I drive the Giulia as my 4th Alfa and I am really happy to do this. Yes, sometimes there are little problems, but isn't it the same with the wife you love? No, I did not have this particular noise at the mirror. Yes, I am having the same problem at the navi, and an update did not help. Maybe the next update ;-)
    There are other small problems, but mostly the dealer can fix them. I am so happy with this car. A car that is beautiful both inside and out, that drives wonderfully, combines sportiness with comfort and space. This is so much better than driving a boring car which have never a problem.

    It would have been great if they had given the Estrema a bump in power to, say, 350'ish HP and added the race mode.

    • @alphafit2057
      @alphafit2057 Před 2 lety +2

      Agreed so it’s pretty much no point to spend the extra dime over a veloce

    • @MarceloLopezJr
      @MarceloLopezJr Před 2 lety +1

      Yes!!! No point anymore without a 350bhp model......they TOTALLY missed that opportunity.

    • @weirdshibainu

      Yeah, even if they didn't add race mode, the 350 h.p. is the mark they should have hit.

    I havnt had the opportunity to drive a Guilia, but my 2012 Guilietta 1.4 TCT 170 petrol has been the best car I've owned. Have had over 4 years 72000k never missed a beat! Just general servicing tyre renewal. I've had 3 Mercs, an Audi all had either suspension or electrical problems. I bought a BMW Z4 mk2 last year..the folding roof can be a bit iffy! You most surely pay for that German badge! If I could, I wouldnt hestitate in buying a Guilia as my next car!

      @Leelee-eu7je Před rokem

      Thanks for nailing the German car versus Italian car myth. My experience with a Volkswagen Golf bought 8 months old mirrors yours - I found it a total pile of crap engineering reliability wise.

  • @rlsedition
    @rlsedition Před 2 lety +6

    A-pillar wind noise IS NOT typical for the Giulia, at least if my 2020 Ti Sport model is any indication.

    Picking my 2019 veloce up today and trading in my 2010 Giulietta cloverleaf. Can't wait. Test drove an Audi S4, Merc C43 (both coupe and saloon) and BMW 340. The Alfa was the only one that excited me by the way it drove. Yes the others are all a bit quicker in a straight line, but the others were all just nice when driving them, none of them were fun in any way. So picking the Alfa up today. Only £276 a month on PCP with my cloverleaf traded in at £4k. Not bad as the price of the Giulia was £27500. £276 is more than affordable.

    Does adaptive damper mode ads a softer or firmer setting to how the Veloce drives?
    Also, is Veloce firmer than the regular Super?

    I think, double layer windows would solve the issue. Not far ago, i tried full spec 2021 Stelvio and boy it it is day and night in terms of how well it hides outside noise compared to my 2017 model

  • @463Richard
    @463Richard Před 2 lety

    Estrema is the same as the Veloce Ti they've been doing for years. That colour looked good though. I assume it was just the camera and it's the usual metallic Black?

    possibly use a rubber conditioner on the door seals and that should do the trick regarding noise. also, very anecdotal, but i never had such a noise on mine either

  • @pauloliva6019
    @pauloliva6019 Před rokem +1

    Quite frankly, I'm glad I ordered my Veloce' straight from the factory, as the Estrema has less color options. Don't think its worth the premium for red stitching and carbon fiber mirrors and V grill, which was sold as the carbon fiber package earlier that they could not sell. Anyway, the wheels on the Veloce' are much nicer IMHO as well. So all around I'm happy with my choices and enjoy every drive I take in my Alfa...

    @Leptospirosi Před 2 lety +7

    5:48 it's not "normal" it's about a deformed 5£ piece of extruded rubber that would cost to you about 100£ and requires a couple of hours of work to be replaced.
    Car industry Politics is to not do anything unless it causes water infiltration that could later cause more expensive problem for them to fix under warranty, as I guess your car is under warranty. You can live with the noise and they won't have to pay to fix it.
    BTW, BMW would be exactly the same (it happened to me) and Mercedes as well: they 'might' probably intervene on an S serie or 7serie or a Maserati quattroporte, because of the much higher margins they have over it and because of the brand image they want to portray on such high end products, so as they would on a Bentley or a Rolls.
    If you want the problem solved they could easily do that but you'll have to pay out of your pockets.
    Welcome to Car industry 2000+ where you are not worth it unless it's worth for them

    • @BojanBojovic
      @BojanBojovic Před 2 lety +3

      Not sure what you and all the others are talking about when it comes to reliability.
      I drive my 4th generation Alfa now and during the 20 years period I went through the half of Europe and a nice part of Asia with them, a car like any other car if we expect them to be reliable enough.
      I never had any major breakdown other than regular visits to the service shop for maintenance.
      Maybe I was lucky, maybe because all my cars were purchased used so the first owners did solve possible problems during the warranty periods, or simply I am technically literate and understand what a car is and how to react, or I have a great mechanic so he makes my Alfa experience enjoyable, I am not sure which is true.
      I have no fear of the car breaking down, I also find that many of my friend's German cars are not as reliable as my Alfas, really no need to be religious about those things.
      I would say objectively Alfa is as reliable as any other car more or less, but subjectively it is a great way to travel.

    Honestly I'm not interested in an overpriced carbon package and adaptive dampers that really don't do anything.
    What I AM interested in, though, is the refreshed interior with the gauge cluster and infotainment. If the rumors are true, it should get the same electronics as the Tonale alongside improved build quality and reliability (as confirmed by the Alfa CEO and $100 million factory improvements). 2024 cannot get here soon enough!

      Lexus aside this is true for just about any luxury or high performance car. That’s why people with the cash to spare buy them new and people with no money that want to look like they do buy them old, same with used BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, Cadillac, Land Rover they all have problems after 100k
