I just bought a new Giulia Ti (280HP). She is AMAZING!! Probably the last great ICE saloon you can buy!!! Analog gauges, check!, great handling (the Ferrari DNA is fully evident), check!, more that adequate power and acceleration for street legal road speeds, check!, excellent interior, check!, decent fuel economy, check! Comfortable long range tourer, check! Sporty enough to take on the weekend back roads, check! And she is a LOOKER! Always check back when I park her!

Here in Australia over a particularly hot summer day (42+) where it was baking all day on the asphalt at work it did throw a couple of electrical gremlins till it cooled down but that was a single instance. Most of us will never consider or be able to afford the QV and we just want to learn about the regular Giulia as much as possible. Thoughtful and thorough review. I've owned a 2020 Stelvio Lusso for 7 months, 7,500 miles. As you know, it's built on the Giulia chassis and the interior is nearly identical. Perhaps you called it the elevated, wagon version of the Giulia? That's pretty much it. My driving experience is very similar to what you've described and I recommend the Stelvio as a larger family alternative to the Giulia, without sacrificing much of the driving experience and performance. It's also a beautiful car. I've had nothing but fun with the Stelvio, which has been flawless to date. Thanks for your video and thanks to Alfa Romeo for making these amazing cars.

Fantastic review! You put into words what is so difficult to verbalize about how special the Giulia Veloce is to drive.
The balance of the front and rear, the communicative steering, the feel of the steering wheel and
seats and the almost immediate response of the engine and transmission
are magical to experience. A little more technical detail on the aluminum subframes, doors, hood
(bonnet ?)and the double wishbone front suspension would reinforce why this car is so special to
drive. I drive a 19 Ti Sport Q4 in the U.S. and it is a joy to drive regardless of the road or speed.
Every word in your review was spot on for me. I agree with your priorities, praise and criticism.

I bought a used Giulia Veloce (Red) at 6300 km 2 months ago and agree all said in this review. It makes me happy when driving no matter fast or slow , on the highway or country. I like the interior more than the rivals because it is plain but has all i need. (I do not like the large, tablet-like screens fitted on the dash board). I like how the ZF transmission behave compared to many cars but have heard comments that BMW's is also very good, some say better Having a motor bike for daily use, I drive my car almost only w/ends so i can not comment for daily use. Have owned FIAT cars earlier w/out issues upto 180K kms, I do not expect reliability problems but here in Turkiye, Alfas are not famous for their reliabilities so we'll see that. Will share if any problem experienced. So far I am happy with my choice. Wish you all safe trips.

It's so good to see Tom so smitten by a car - it's absolutely infectious. Thanks for taking me on that journey, Tom. As for the car, I love everything about it but just couldn't do it. I've done my Alfa-time with an older Giulietta. It nearly bankrupt me with the repair costs. All would be forgiven when I was snicking through the gears on the old Pacific Highway north of Sydney on a sunny Sunday morning though... God, it made me smile like a loon.

Alfa's are reliable cars mate and they are the best performing too...don't be discouraged because of your Giulietta, I had one too, a QV and boy what an amazing machine it was...sold it because I had to make some other changes in my life back in 2019 but if I had the choice would have kept it to this day...my son even begged me to keep it for him when he turned 21 [which is in 2 week's time if the Lord spares us]. These Giuilia's have won numerous awards since its release in 2015, and also won reliability tests 2 years in a row on WhatCar? annual surveys beating the Germans and some oriental brands...that's no coincidence my friend...my next car is going to be the Veloce in white.

I know the pain, I had a 100th anny GT up until recently. It had the running costs of a small country. 82000k and had TWO cam belt changes. One clutch and two sets of rotors. One service cost me over 6 grand

@@bobpants1469 always very disheartening reading posts like these my friend and I only imagine your experience not to mention the emotional toll...what I have learnt [together with quite a few other folk] is to have these machines looked after by specialists who love what they do and keep them away from the dealers who [in many instances] have caused more harm than good....here in my country we have quite a number of Alfa specialists with fantastic reputations and these are the people who strengthen this amazing machine's reputation because they KNOW what they are doing but more importantly, they LOVE their work and have a PASSION for the brand and its heritage.
One such guy saved a few people who owned Guilietta's by the way, thousands of dollars and unnecessary heartache and stress by solving small little niggles that could have brought bigger headaches going forward...
So my stance has become, leave these vehicles with specialists and [if possible] avoid the dealer service centers, you'll save yourself a lot of trouble.
      Please don't lose heart buddy...

I bought my Giulia Quadrifoglio new and kept it for three years (it ran like a Swiss watch, never had an issue). That said, after I picked it up from the dealer I never took it back to an Alfa dealer (always had it serviced by an Alfa specialist). The dealer network is the one thing that lets Alfa down in my opinion (certainly here in the UK).

Amazing to hear honest words from an automotive journalist. This car is a true gem and it's OK to have opinions on the EV push even if it goes through. Even after they ban ICE - which may not happen - it's still OK to have an opinion about EVs and ICEs.

Tis a thing of beauty. Those Italians certainly know how to pull me in. I bought my wife a Moto Guzzi motorbike years ago. Two engine rebuilds, new speedo, a gearbox rebuild all in the 2 year warranty period. Lovely thing though. Now I have an Italian dishwasher - broken after two days working. Waiting for parts. I do like that Romeo though and I'm sure it performs perfectly - today that is :) So refreshing to see a great car that isn't a bloated SUV!

There's a lot of cars on the market at the price point where you just think "meh". This car looks like a genuinely fun and stylish place to spend some time in. I'm probably not brave enough to spend retail on a new one given Alfa's record with depreciation, but it would be an interesting proposition as a 3-4 year old used car.

The comment about the last combustion car you'll buy... I feel that very much. I bought two new cars last year - an Acadia and a Yaris Hybrid. They'll both last my family for a couple of decades, fingers crossed, and I'm sure the cars of 2040 are going to be cool, but they're not going to use petrol. If I want to buy a weekend car, I'll be buying something older.

Please don't omit to tell us if it's a kit, space saver or full tyre on all reviews - its important to anyone driving outside the cities.
