This guy has a really good video with some good solid information, I’m an Alfa tech so I would know and I back this video !! It the maximum care mopar warranty. It’s probably the same price as the cheap third party contracts that don’t cover anything that the oe one does.

Was shopping 2018's recently and these are good tips but for under $200 you can get a pre purchase inspection at an alfa dealer for a tech to look it over completely, also a protip I asked them for the Mopar warranty which they do an inspection for, and I was able to get them to do the Mopar warranty inspection at the same time as the PPI (its basically the same inspection so they just didn't charge me twice for the same thing). Great tips though thanks for the video

Great video advise. I bought two 2.0 Stelvio's, both new in 2018 and 2021 and still have the 2021. No where close to 100,000 but both have been dependable and trouble Free. There are some horror stories out there and have read many of them. I am a motorhead so I pay close attention to issues and resolve them soon as I identify them but as everyone knows stuff happens. Warranty and the 'correct' extended warranty will fix them. I also have a vintage Pantera, a F-150 PU, and a C8 Z51 Corvette and drive them all and race both the Pantera and the Corvette. My only advise is if you buy one pay attention to all the concerns this driver shared. Excellent advise!

Though I've been following the forums for about 3-4 years and haven't seen anyone with major gremlins you would see on the classic Alfas or the mid 2000s Alfas in Euroland. It seems like Alfa and Chrysler really upped their game in terms of making things better. Dodge and Jeep have come light years from what they once were in the 90s. I am starting to see lots of part sharing (especially since the 2.0 is a Hurricane engine)

I bought mine used with 13k and under the maintenance menu it stated that maintenance had expired. The dealer I bought it from stated that 10K service had been completed and confirmed that on my carfax. Is there any maintenance not provided by the 10k service that should be done by 13k miles? Or did the shop not properly update the system? Can the issue be that only Alfa can update the maintenance information? Or a special code reader? Thanks in advance!

Alpha tech here, the sunroof will break, the intercooler/intake will leak, the power seat mechanism will break, the rear tires will eat the inside edges off. Those cars eat coolant. Every single alpha I see is low on coolant. Also if it sits too long that brick that controls the intake valves? Will make the car run like crap. The waste gate actuator will develop slack and cause low boots issues. They are job security. Those lines on the turbo always leak.

When i put it in eco mode i feel like it does not give me the correct gas reading i mean I literally ran out of gas on the freeway when the car said i still had fuel. At this point I know of 5 over 100k in the us. Driving it a lot means less issues than a parked one. I really do recommend getting a leaser mile one. Like 40k. Your best bet is to get one with factory warranty like a 2019. Right before it runs out get mopar max care for a few thousand extra then your covered if anything happens. I have a 2018 and love it. Been reliable so far, just normal maintenance items like oil and brakes. (Either I have a heavy brake foot or it just loves to burn through them) regardless no issues here. I think part of the reason there aren't many high mile alfas is there aren't many to begin with 😅 on top of them being relatively new to the US market. The Giulia is very much a buy now and we'll know in 10 years how they held up car at the moment

@unuesokami8736 depends if you really need the AWD or not? It's a little bit quicker 0-60 having AWD but the extra weight means worse MPG & it's more to go wrong. In my opinion you don't need the AWD it's not like you'll be taking it off road 😂

My Honda accord was totaled yesterday so I went to the dealer to just look at cars to get an idea as to what I should start researching. Well, I saw an Alfa Romeo (never heard of it before) and I loved how the inside looked like. Asked the price and they said $24k. Long story short, I came out the dealer with that car. I absolutely fucking love it but I haven’t checked anything underneath the hood and today while driving to work I heard a rock hit my car I just didn’t know where and later I noticed a chip on the window. I would say no, unless your very confident in fixing things your self. The car is reliable but higher mileage more risk. Out of warranty repairs are crazy expensive. My suggestion is always getting one that has an ending factory warranty, get mopar maxcare and enjoy. So like a 2019 up. If your good at doing work your self and use multiecuscan software then why not 2017, but even then 2018 up is better they replaced lots of little things like redesigned coolant lines.

I would personally never never buy these new, the dealers barely can sell them with 10k off. These cars simply don’t hold value even the QV has gotten to the point where you can get one with 30k miles for 35k here in ATX. Best bet is 2 years old with a mopar max care I’m still under warranty. It’s not even about the money, there is just not world where I would spend 40k on a new 2.0T vs spending 40ish on a used QV. I do all my own work all the intervals for maintenance are done around half of what Alfa suggests and I’ve still barely spent anything on maintenance the 2.0T is very inexpensive to maintain compared to the QV.
