I actually agree with Jeannie, there are some games that I enjoy watching people play, that I either don't want to play myself or know I wouldn't like the gameplay style but still enjoy the story or world, so I watch other people play it. I would say thats fairly common honestly.
I never understood this and probably never will…. Video games are very time consuming, there has to be something more meaningful in life to pursue then sitting on the sidelines in a stranger’s life. Speed running is somewhat understandable because it is admirable to see what people can achieve when they constantly challenge themselves to get better, but then it becomes depressing when I think of how the world might of been a better place if they chose to dedicate their time to the challenges we face in humanity.

That is an easy one to answer, Nintendo and Sony are Japanese companies they both designed their controllers to be where "confirm" is on the right and "go back is on the bottom", A or circle - ok, advanced, etc, B or cross- bad, no, back up ... it is Microsoft who flipped them due to wanting to write them left to right and then to keep consistency in the western market Sony reversed the button meanings for the western games where now the cross/no/bad symbol means yes advanced, and the ok/good/yes symbol means go back, stop... so really you have 3 layouts, the Japanese layout of confirm being on the right and cancel on the bottom, the American layout of the confirm being on the bottom and cancel on the right, and then the Japanese layout but American meanings where the cancel icon is on the bottom but instead confirms and the confirm button is on the right but instead cancels. Japanese companies have always put the confirm button in the easiest to hit spot where as the American company tried switching the order around to where the cancel button is the easiest to hit (and partially succeeded with Sony not giving up their Japanese layout but instead switching which button does which for the western market)

There are definitely nongamers who like watching people play in real life but don’t watch streamers. Especially if it’s got a decent story. My sister was like that and a few of the cousins since so many of the boys played games. It made for some chill times. We be playing and the girls be chatting and paying attention to the story.

sadly, there are some out there that don't see that as entertaining. they see it as tiresome. my uncle, who does play games(his brothers do not), is one of the people who find playthroughs tiresome. there are also some people that only find physical labor, working 24/7 away from home, and socialization as fun. i swear, the young ones who are like that don't even belong in this time period. they belong in the 70s or 80s or something. any time period that didn't have video games or walkthroughs/playthroughs.

I find those who might enjoy a book or consider a night out to the movies or a show a good time; are more likely to sit down with you or around you and chill. Of course the type of game is important too. Usually sports and shooters don't entertain much. Recently I had fam interested in games like Star Wars Jedi and the Spider-Man games. Flashy but also good stories.

Nintendo is still very much a Japanese company, and the traditional writing system over there is right-to-left, top-to-bottom. I suspect this is why the A is on the right, and has been since the very original NES controller. The first character goes on the right, and the next goes on the left. A is also the first button your right thumb "sees" when reaching across the controller? So maybe that?
Sony (which is also a Japanese company) also technically has the exact same button layout as Nintendo. The circle represents 1, since one "line" is used to draw it. The cross (not actually an X) = 2 lines, triangle = 3, and square = 4. Ordering them, you get right -> bottom -> top -> left, same as A->B->X->Y on the Nintendo controller!
So, technically speaking, Microsoft is the odd one out by putting A left of B, and X left of Y. *the more you know*
when Japanese is written horizontally, it is read left to right. more formal writing is done in columns top to bottom, right to left. when its written horizontally, right to left, it is seen as old.

Tangentially related to the all male and all female classes mentioned at the end...to be honest, when I was in the US Coast Guard the all-male units were about a million times more productive than the co-ed units, and a million times better with regards to quality of life. Not because the women were attractive or a distraction (most of the time they weren't). But because despite not being very attractive, they constantly got pregnant. That and not being as physically capable, even when they weren't knocked up, the men had to do most of the physical labor for them. Watch-standing was absolutely terrible because one was always out on maternity leave and every watch in the military has to be manned 24/7/365. So we were always a watch-stander short, and they were always gone so long that they had to requalify for the watch, meaning they had to be supervised for the first 3 months they were back and pass a test proving they could still do the job. Working in the military with women is exhausting.
If command command doesn't plan for pregnancy absences, that's a command planning failure, not a women issue.
Both the pregnant women in question as well as command should know about the pregnancy in time to certify a replacement while she's away for maternity leave/put on lighter duties.
My guess is they don't have the will or the budget to increase staff to make that process more streamlined.
I suppose one way to see if it's a budget or not wanting to do it issue from command is to compare how they cover for longer injury absences, like a broken arm or leg, or serious illnesses like the flu.
@@suntiger745 I feel like it's probably more complicated than that. It's not fair to just say it's women's fault, but if women weren't in the military, it wouldn't be a problem. Which is unfair.
It's not the women in the military that are at complete fault here though, as it takes two to tango. But you also can't blame people in an extremely stressful job, to not want to release that stress in the most popular way in existence.
They could always plan it into the budget, but if more absences increase, and the budget doesn't, then at some point you'll spreading the budget too thin. And while I'm not in the military, I've heard that's not an uncommon problem to begin with.
It's just a complicated problem. As far as physical labor, that I can't really argue with. It'd be nice to say that women could preform equally physically strenuous tasks as men, but it's just not true. There are some strong women out there, don't get me wrong, but on average, men are physically stronger than women.
Considering the military spending of the US I find it hard to believe this to be a budget problem.
@@suntiger745 the military doesnt do that, a person is assigned to that command, if the person gets sick or pregnant, the rest of the command has to take up the slack. there are not enough folks to send out to cover shortfalls for everyday shortages, now for some and very few critical jobs, a Temporary person will be assigned, but usually not longer than a few months. an then only to fix a critical issue.

The experiment ist actually quite interesting when you think of it. Proving/disproving if the way the people around you are dressed actually influences your performance in certain areas / distracts you and to what degree, is an interesting socioeconomic question.
Think about company dress codes, the way office areas and meeting rooms are designed, etc.
However, the samplesize is to small and they're not taking into account other constellations than 1 male on X females.
So it's just for the lulz/clicks.

@@molybdaen11 yeah, youtube has a hard-on for hating MxR and damning them if even the tiniest of nudity appears. that's why the censorship blocks out the majority of the videos whenever something nsfw pops up, after all. there are people just or almost as popular on youtube and they don't have to worry about getting strikes for nudity and whatnot.

Actually, that that sea critter that gets tickled is a sting ray. Since it out of the water, his "wings" are curled inward, which makes it hard to recognize its body shape. (also, the fact that it is out of the water it is essentially suffocating)
