    Gotta adjust the float needle tab with those Chinese carbs, they come outta box with not enough pressure to keep needle closed...

    Bicycle brake cable works perfectly.. One strand is the perfect size for pilots and its stiff wire too.👍

    Amazing how you explained everything. I wish you could help me with mine I just rebuilt my motorcycle from every part. Last thing I did was put a new carburetor on. Now I have to tune it

    Needle valve is leaking. Polish the seat with Q tip and valve lapping compound. Also check and make sure the drain screw seals correctly and check for crack in brass overflow pipe in fuel bowl, they will split.

    9 out of 10 times it will be the needle and seat or the float needs to be adjusted. Saved you all the BS of watching this video. You're welcome

    Another thing you can do, Harvey, is try mustie1's trick of putting valve grinding compound on a qtip and spiking it to clean the seat.

    Good work on the carb. I'm not seeing the rust that it must have if you are willing to part it. Since you are not in a hurry to part it, why not store it for a bit and see if you run across another and build one out of two? Good stuff!

    Not every carb is so accessable...so i tend to drain the bowl..If it has a plug at the bottom
    and blow compressed air down the fuel delivery line along with some solvent..Then make sure
    the tank petcock filter is free from defects....Cheers!

    I had the same thing on my little boys wheeler and my garden tiller. Both had stuck floats and needed cleaning. This dam corn in the gas is a mess! Better off drinking the corn!😉😝

    • @HarveySpooner
      @HarveySpooner  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey Brother Calvin!!!! I never understood the corn thing, it takes more energy to make gasoline out of it then to make gasoline out of oil.... And, U R right, if messes up carbs al the time!!! Thanks for Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!

    mine is leaking to the left of the fuel hose, is that hole supposed to be plugged? I noticed yours has a brass fitting in there, mine doesn't have that, I assumed it was a weep hole or something, thanks

    Now i had my bike lifted from the back quite high to weld the frame rails and paint the bottom. I drained the carb of all gas and shut the fuel off completely so no gas would leak out. It was lifted for about a week i finished the bottom and put it down i turned the gas on and gas ran right through the carb i took carb off made sure float was okay and working fine it is from what i can tell seems to work perfect then when i have the carb bowl back on and i fill with gas runs right through again. Needle is perfectly clean floats have no gas in them the floats move up and down perfect. Also this carb is brand new oem honda carb put on 2-3 years ago the inside looks brand new the floats are still even white. Anyone have suggestions?!

    You my friend have reached the cross road ! It might be time to say goodbye to a few of them in order to have room for new ones to enter ! It appears to me that you take a lot of pleasure working and making them run so just sell a few and get new ADVENTURES OF HARVEY THE HANDYMAN ! I’m sure you would get good money from local subscribers to make it worth your efforts !
