I don't understand the point of the bond. The judge clearly wants him in jail because he set it high, so why not just jail him? Why dangle the carrot that if he was richer he might be free?
I think for most offenses, courts have to set a bond. Judges do have the discretion to set an unaffordable bond, which serves the same purpose while obeying the letter as the law

What is it with defense attorneys? Almost every time I see one of these bond hearings, "He starts a new job on Monday..." is used as justification. 3. Don't judge a book by it's cover, but DAYMN! he looks juuuust a bit deranged. His absolute obsession is more than very, very scary.

I like this judge. He's very fair, he doesn't seem arrogant which you can sometimes see with judges that take the power that comes along with robe a little too far sometimes with their "better than you attitude" For example judge. DeSanto. I do like her but she acts that way.
ALL the awful things were read out on his LENGTHY rap sheet... At the end I was praying for his "target girlfriend" that he can't stop abusing. NOPE, JUST NOPE! So glad the Judge was WISE and understood who this man is and what he will do... He took his responsibility seriously and avoided making a huge mistake and letting him "go." I don't know if someone like this can be rehabilitated, I wouldn't want to have any judge take that chance with this guy's horrible HORRIBLE LONG TERM HISTORY! The WORLD needs to BEWARE OF THIS MAN.
It is possible. I have run into men and women with voices like that. One was the State's Attorney here. I was with a group of my daughter's classmates visiting the court house. I thought at first he was joking around with the kids. Then I realized this was his actual speaking voice. He talked for a living with that cartoon voice! He needed a voice coach. He later made some stupid and unpopular prosecutorial decisions and disappeared from the county. He is not missed.🐞
The defence attorney needs to go to a voice coach to get rid of that cutsie, little girl voice. It would be money well spent. She talks for a living and people will be hard put to take her seriously until she trains herself to have a grown-woman voice. 🐞
