Electrical Rough-In | Master Bath Remodel (Part 4)

In this video, I explain how we decided to locate electrical devices and I show the rough electrical installation before closing the walls in my new master bath.
Over the Winter of 2018, I gutted my tiny master bathroom, moved a wall to double the useable space, and completely rebuilt it from the ground up with high-end finishes like carrara marble and a smart shower.

Hi, Regulations must be different here in the UK because you are not allowed to have any switched devices on the wall in bathrooms, any switches you do have must be "pull string" type from the ceiling so that you cannot touch them with wet hands and possibly get a shock

Interesting! Nope, switches are okay here but they must be properly grounded.

Building Code varies from city to city in the US but typically there is no problem with bathroom outlets as long as they are equipped with a (GFCI) ground-fault circuit interrupter. A GFCI outlet is considered safe because if a short is detected the breaker can trip the power off within 1/40 of a second to prevent injury or damage.

The shower is great. But I regret using natural marble because you can’t use normal cleaning products.
