Woodturning - The Biggest Log Ever !!
In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a huge maple log into a beaded vase.
When woodturning a piece like I find it important to nibble away at it until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what is so enjoyable about woodturning.
If you find these videos entertaining I’d appreciate you like, share and subscribe.
Thanks for watching.

I always wondered how these massive wooden objects are made. Cutting them into several pieces and fitting them together again requires a lot of precision. Absolutely amazing! I enjoyed watching the process very much.
Wowsers 😮 that just blew my tiny brain, seriously Jack that was incredible

Very creative, love the way you work❤
Holly cow, that is amazing. Now I understand how those big wooden vases are made. You are amazing
splendid maestro
Mir fehlen die Worte, das ist so genial echt super
Very nice❤❤
Благослови Господи твои замечательные ручки, за создание таких шедевров.🤗🙏🙏🙏👍
The large scale is fascinating. But i am most impressed by 17:50 casully putting those lines in equidistant and ending up exactly at the next joining line.😮
I think, I could be wrong, but when it is fixed in place and spinning (and the surface is smooth), it is virtually impossible to not join up the ends. Otherwise it would be unlikely a symmetric join in the actual carving would be successful.
One of the most satisfying turning videos I’ve ever seen!
Mesmerizing Jack. ❤
Good job Jack beautifully done
Absolutely class as ever! Big ups
Really impressive. And now I can see why someone invented segmented woodturning!
You’ve got some skills 😎
Gorgeous
Thanks 👍🎄
Nice one 😘 Hope you had an amazing Chrissy x

Great piece Jack. 👍
beautiful
I've never seen such a large piece on a lathe before. Very impressive. The vase is so beautiful.
Lovely, ❤ Happy Christmas and New Year to you and your's! 🌲 🎅 ☃
Brilliant idea to divide it up and hide the seams with ribbing. My only question is, why didn't you hollow out the slices all the way through?
I’m not sure which I appreciated the most. You patience your wood turning skills or your tools sharpening skills. Great job.
Love it
Absolutely amazing.....wow!
Well, I did not expect that! You tend to keep me guessing. Along for the ride wondering what you will do with that huge log, when I realize you are a Southpaw! Awesome! My dad was a Southpaw!
Hi 👋, Nice job, 👍, MERY Christmas, happy New Year, Phil from the moulin France
Well done Jack. Very pretty.
Merry Christmas, J! That beautiful piece has many compartments to keep your figgy pudding in. 🥰🎄🤗
O.k, you got a big flower pot, wonderful Jack, atta boy.
Lovely how you turned a massive log into a graceful amphora. Thanks for sharing this.
Could watch these all day. Perfect work from home background watching. Keep up the good work guys
And to you sir, "Thumb's Up" No. 1000! Great videos! Wondering, what do you do with all the sawdust? I bet that room smells great! John
Jaaaaack, you are freakin' awesome! 😁
Stunning!!!
Nice job :))
Bravo!!!!!
The simplicity of your design paid homage to the majestic tree that gave you such a beautiful grain to work with. Anymore and it would have been over done. I think you are a genius.
Wow, thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it 😊 Are you an artist?
🤯 ❤ Ingenious ❤
Love it!!!
Gorgeous! That first tenon had me worried for a minute - wasn't sure where you were going!

Great Job. Merry Christmas And Happy New Year Jack 🎊🎄
I knew it was going to be a large tall vase, its beautiful!!!
The other side of my brain was thinking, wouldnt it be cool if it was stacked storage. 😉
I love it the grain is beautiful, Merry Christmas
Very nice
Nice!
That's a whopper!
Gtreat work Jack. Love the finished article.
9:25 - ah, not going to fool me! You filmed those separately/after since the bottom is already finished in the top left. Then, cuts to you starting it.
Of course, stuff like this happens all the time, but it's nice to just catch them here and there.
brilliant idea. Will have to try sometime.
Hot dam, you did it, beautiful vase
Cool! ~ Also if you cut the base off, that would make a good Djembe Drum :)
Wow! Great job! Happy Christmas Jack. Great year! I look forward to more enticing videos in the NY.
How excited were you when you actually got to speed up the lathe above 150rpms? Wow!
magnificent
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing 😉
Beautiful piece. Very impressive! 👍 I did find myself wishing for the application of a bowl-saving jig though. With that much volume to work with, I'm sure several nice ones could have been harvested. (But maybe that's just the Scottish "waste not/want not" genes coming out!) 😁
I've watched the creation of giant vases on some other turning channels and this was quite a different approach. Good job 👏👍
Nuostabus meno kūrinys 👍👍👍👍👍☕
Linkiu sėkmės kuriant grožį.

WOW!
It's so insane that a lathe can handle that
Wow!
A beautiful piece of art sir, stunning. Thanks for sharing your hard work with us.🌿 👍👍👍👍👍
4:14 giant bowling pin? 😂
The birdseye looks very similar to birdseye in huon pine. Nice wood. Thanks for sharing
Another masterpiece Jack. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas.
Oh my goodness, it's a tree! I could practically hear you thinking "ok, dude , what do I do with you now?"
Hello Jack, you certainly gave your machine a bit of a workout there, nice job. Reminded me of the canon you made a little while back. Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year. 🙃
That chainsaw gave me a lil bit of a jump scare lol
That is absolutely gorgeous! Your gift of creating beautiful pieces of art is amazing. I love this so much! ❤
I thoroughly enjoyed that. Pardon me though. Is there anyway that you could have realigned the grain back up? Or was that not the objective?
