Skyrim: Top 5 Toughest Choices You’ll Have to Make in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

- Skyrim is a game full of choice. From picking between the Stormcloaks and Empire to deciding whether or not to spare Paarthurnax, The Elder Scrolls 5 is a game that affords the player a large amount of agency over its many narratives. Thankfully, many of the decisions we get to make in Skyrim are anything but easy, full of moral ambiguity rewards so tempting it’s impossible to choose. These opportunities to exercise our own judgement are by far some of the most thought provoking and interesting moments in the entire world of Skyrim. So today, we’ll be exploring some of the absolute best as we dive right into my top five toughest choices in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
- Hry
the toughest one:
protect yourself or deal some damage?
Nice
Deal all da damege
No lollygagging.
I don't want to do either, I just want to sell stuff and make money
Okay, that was a good one. Made me exhale more air through my nose than usual.
"they even worship daeric gods" *me who sold my soul to like 14 of them*
Shanye West Pelinal Whitestrake would like to know your location
If you went all out, it should be 16, I think, if you count Nocturnal. I’ve heard that there are 18 Daedric Lords, so I’m wondering... where the hell are the other two?
Yeah what happens after the dragon borne dies? Like are all the deadra gonna have a massive unholy war to see who gets the soul?
Ethan Parker - I would suspect Akatosh would get first claim.
@@hollyhartwick3832 Ugh, I much rather prefer my soul being taken by either Mora or Sanguine.
For the ebony blade when you use calm on an enemy they’re counted as friendly so you could just kill calmed bandits
Never even occurred to me thanks
or you could do that and then kill actual friendlies
@Emmy oh my... someone got STONKS!
Also if you have the dragonborn DLC you can endlessly kill the dwemer pets
You can use the stone east of Whiterun that give you the power to revive dead people 1 time per day, choose a character, kill it, wait 24hrs and then repeat till you complete it.
Bro, I helped Cicero really early in the game. I helped him with his wagon wheel and now (after sparing him) he'll call me "Listener", "Friend" or "Best friend". If you help him early in the game in general, he'll always consider you a friend
just started a new game a few days ago, after many years not playing skyrim. suddenly i see Cicero with a broke wagon on the street and I'm like: "Whaat?! Hey buddy, I missed you... kinda".
@@deantasty7421 I saw the broken wagon in the north path of the whiterun I am not sure about whether he is always waiting over there like a normal quest
@@batuhanuysal5322 probably, but I never saw him, because my cousins showed me the dark brotherhood pretty early. Ive never realised you could meet him before that
I got that random encounter before going to windhelm
So i meet Cicero before the guild
So he was my friend And he was the only one following the tenets, so i side with him.
Them find out Astrid betrayed me, i was like "yeah fuck all yall, i got a friend on the outside" 😂😂
I met Cicero before initiating the quest line-the broken wagon wheel quest. I also got annoyed by him at that point and killed him before I finished that quest
Toughest decision: What am I going to name my character this time?
No, is it male or female?
No. It’s what nose type to give them.
Benx101cool rr
My charectord current name is w a c k
@@ra_alf9467 in my Ps4 run i used a khajiit Name generator seeing that i usally dont know what to Name them.
Dragonborn: "I can't side with you Forsworn, you're evil!"
Madanach: "Evil how, exactly?"
Dragonborn: "You kill innocents, and worship daedra!"
Madanach: "Didn't I hear you sacrificed someone to Boethiah--"
Dragonborn: "--that's different! She offered me some cool armor."
krudmonger gold haha
Hey madanach gives you armour of the old god so who is evil or who is better
Same but with molag bals sweet ass mace lol
I sided with forsworn, and sacrificed someone to Boethiah. Sadly Ebony Mail is heavy armor :(
@@yminthos9968 I'd use the mace if I could actually see while in combat with it :/
"they even worship Daedric gods!"
Me: *Hides the mace of Molag Bal and Mehrune's Razor while sweating profusely* how evil.
Hehehe yesss =3
*Sweating profusely inside Ebony mail and Clavicus masque*
At least you didn't kill a dog for a worthless axe.
*you didn't kill a dog for a worthless axe, right? RIGHT!?*

😂😂
the last one really isn't a tough decision to make, for every Thalmor that dies a child sleeps soundly at night
The only good Thalmor is a dead Thalmor
And even better than that is one that's turned into my dead Thrall
I lied to the thalmor to get the map (I didn't know if you can get it without the speech check) and just murdered him and all the thalmor
@@petemadrona2252 even better is a thalmor agent inside a soul cairn thanks to the black soul gem.
Also, helping them wouldn't count for making them friendly? Convince them, get the map, use them to charge the ebony blade and make the world a better place. Win-win-win-win
I soul trap every Thalmor patrol i come across and steal their armor to use or sell at a later date. And all in the name of MOLAG BAL.
Me upon finding the Ebony Blade “Cool! Another artifact weapon to gather dust in my rare/enchanted item chest that lags when I open it”
:) Literally me. I've beat whole game with dragonbone Great Ax and all my unique weapons were just decorations over houses. It would be hillarious to be able to tell people about them.
"Another great adventure for legendary Daedra/Whoever, right Drabgonborn? Here, have this almighty blade! I can only imagine what mighty deeds you can make with it?"
"Not really, I think I will hang it in bedroom"
I also find myself taking any and all enchanted items
Yeah... The Ebony Blade is only good for collecting. To charge it, you have to kill 10 of your “friends” and likely have to pay thousands of Septims in bounty fines to boot. Totally not worth it.
I actually find the ebony blade a useful weapon for combat especially for when I first got it and was still weak
Shady Blobfish - It may be decent in the early game, but the cost in time and innocent lives to charge it to full power isn’t worth it to me. It also cannot be improved on a grindstone. It doesn’t take much to craft a good blade with an Absorb Health enchantment that’s better several times over. Most seasoned players agree it’s one of the worst Daedric Artifacts in the game. Wabbajack is fairly useless, but at least it can make you laugh. The Ebony Blade just makes you kill your friends, and for, at best, a mediocre sword. If you like it, great. Most players, including myself, don’t.
Paarthurnax is the easiest choice for me in the game: Just ignore it and never complete it
Blades are clearly in the wrong, because Paarthurnax betrayed his dragon kin and taught the Voice to mankind. Alduin had two chances to destroy the world but Paarthurnax was there each time to thwart it
PARTYSNAX IS WAK
That's what I do to it the dumbest quest
What is better? To be born good, or to overcome evil through great effort?
there's a mod which lets you talk some sense into Delphine...
Genghis goose that's what made my decision every time !
"If you just attack and kill Fjola, but I don't know why you would do that."
She's a flippin' bandit chief, you mow down enough unnamed ones, does knowing her name really make the fact that she slaughters innocents excusable?
Yes.
That plus the whole bandit keep is a *Pain in the ASS* to clear.
Right? Like Bandits aren't good people lol
Yeah, in one of the notes it's also stated that people were tortured to death by her men and she takes hostages. My quest has started because one was able to flee. She is horrid.
Why wouldn't you attack fiola she's a bandit chief? There's no reasoning with them. They aren't some misguided children. I have for them a warriors death
I never once disliked Cicero, he always seemed the most sincere while astrid always seems to be hiding something
We can't always tell what Cicero is thinking but we always know what he's feeling
My toughest choice in skyrim:
A) Murder nazeem to death
B) soultrap Nazeem and leave the gem in blackreach as far from the cloud district as possible
Or use the gem and trap his soul in coldharbour.
@@23Raind that's also possible.
I threw his soul gem in the vampires trash pit
Lol soul trapped him, shoved his soul in a fork then dropped it in a crevice in the soul cairn never to be seen again but not before stabbing a giant in the butt with it. Muwahahahahaaha
@@drizztdourden8111 Not how enchanting works, you gave his soul to a daedra in exchange for the power. Bad for him but you just lost a perfectly useful fork
The Forsworn even worship the DAEDRA.
Almost every Dragonborn: Yeah, sure, real bad guys
*snickers in werewolf*
I can hear the sarcasm in this comment
I don't worship daedras, I worship daedra loot. big difference here.
super newbie true. To be fair, some of the loot wasn’t even the Daedric lords’ to begin with. Some of it was made by men or mer, and not for the Daedric lords.
*chuckles in nocturnal, ebony, molag bal, boethia, meridia, sithis, hermaus mora, azura and sanguine* I'm in danger.
“The thalmore can actually be pretty good friends” me unsheathes the ebony blade😂😭
The ebony blade is so OP, I mean it heals you, it's fast, it does good damage, it let's you sacrifice people for a reason, the list goes on
The Cicero decision is one of the easiest ones I've ever made. He attacked Astrid because she insulted the night mother anybody else who got hurt only got hurt because they tried to get in the way. If you're wanting to stay true to the dark brotherhood the only option is to spare him, as he was the only one actually sticking up for the truth of what the dark brotherhood is supposed to be
The most stressful choice is what loot to leave behind. Sure you could drop the nord great sword, it has low stats, and isn't worth a lot, but it was the first weapon you bought before deciding you would play a sneak archer build. It has sentimental value, damnit! You can't give that up! So ultimately you decide to thow away nothing slowly walk to your horse, and hope a town is close.
Your the justin Y. Of the skyrim community aren't ya
This is so true😂
Maybe if you had payed attention you would be able to TELEPORT of the horse

Nate: "Cicero *HATES* the Dragonborn!"
Cicero in-game: **Lowkey infatuated with the Dragonborn and would literally do anything for them**
Cicero is jealous of the Dragonborn. But the NightMother speaks and Cicero loves the NightMother. If spared, Cicero is part of restoring the assassins to their ancient code. He's also one of the best, deadliest and the funniest of followers in the game.
@@mhahse57 *yessss*
Cicero is so damn annoying I killed that man so easily
Cicero is my friend
And my follower
And kinda servant
Kill Astrid,Cicero is a real bro
So he is annoying, so he makes jokes you dont get/like, so he is jealous of you at times. *But he would kill for you, and as long as you dont betray him, he wont betray you* And thats a bro
Regarding the king in rags, I usually go along with him right up to the last door. Then, when it's just me n him.... he gets murdered to death. This way, I get both the pardon AND the forsworn remain unhostile.
Thank you! I'm going to try this
Edit
I tried several times and I can't get it to work
The Cicero quest always very much intrigued me, since the dialogue indicates, he went off AFTER hearing Astrid talk to somebody, about not believing in the old ways anymore. He is a half deranged Guardian of the Nightmother... That sounds like a very viable trigger for him.
Also, we do learn that Astrid even wanted to sell the Player out to the P.O. to keep her "family" alive, and just the way it was before cicero came around, in other words, bringing the D.B. back down the "wrong path" when in the service of Sithis.
Hell, we only have Astrids word for what Cicero overheard. It is very well possible, he heard her selling the Player (who he respects as the Listener) out to the P.O. We never really get a statement from Astrid WHO she talked to, or about WHAT. And the Player DOES GET SOLD OUT, immediatly AFTER the falling out with Cicero.
its some real complicated shit
Daaaaaaamn that actually puts a lot together dude, although NGL I would've sold her out to protect everyone so she only did what I would've done if I was in her shoes ig
When I found out about Astrid's betrayal, I actually figured that Cicero may have found out, and that was why he snapped and tried to kill her for betraying the Dragon Born and the guild.
Yes.
well actually if you read every piece of cicero's journal you'll understand, its not about the dragonborn, its more like he dont like astrid's leadership since she defied the brotherhood tradition,he dont feel astrid's brotherhood is a true dark brotherhood, especially putting aside the nightmother, and he take this as a betrayal, thats why he snapped out,
and you can learn more about cicero's back story too from his journal, like there was a time that he actually a normal assasin and not some crazy night mother keeper,
More so for betraying The guild than the dragonborn but yes
@@naufeel_abf from dialog you can see how much love and respect he has for Mother and it makes sense why he attacked her. If he was a normal person I'd expect him to slap her, but um he's not a normal person
@@naufeel_abf Cicero is correct. Keep Cicero alive to fully restore the Nightmother and the assassins to their proper place and purpose in Tamriel.
Childhood is killing Cicero because you thought he was a weirdo.
Adulthood is when you spare Cicero because he's one of the only NPC's who isn't bland as shit.
absolutely true, his voice actor is AMAZING
@@killeramphibians Cicero is awesome. I can't stand Astrid though... I had to kill her so unfortunately that means I have to destroy the dark brotherhood at some point.
Edit: Unless there's a way to spare him. (First playthrough pardon my ignorance)
@@Sand-Walker13 yup!! if you don’t destroy the dark brotherhood, you can still spare cicero later on in the quest line
Honestly. Coolest little dude in the game lol
I always liked him. Kinda so pitiful you can’t help but sympathize with and kinda love him in a slightly demeaning way.
My first playthrough I didn’t know how to fast travel, so I ran into Cicero by that farm behind whiterun, I was so surprised to see him in the sanctuary when I found the dark brotherhood
I killed Cicero the very first time but I felt so guilty. For starters, he's doing his job. He's more of a brother than a y of them, devoted his life to the night mother.
That and his voice actor is fucking amazing. The most unique and fascinating voice in the whole game
“The Forsworn are the bad guys.”

I'd still murder them, I despise delphine over everything. I'd rather let alduin live, give harkon his bow and daughter and personally bring miraak back than endure her roaming skyrim

Holly Hartwick it just makes no sense to me why they would allow you to work with Odavving but not Party snacks? Also they pledged themselves to the service of the Dragonborn and if the Dragonborn doesn’t want to work with them they literally have no purpose in life.
On the Forsworn Conspiracy, you can also escape with madanach and the other fellas, and, just as Madanach gives you your whole gear back (along with the special armor), you can kill everyone there and then. Then you steal the key from his body and exit the cave, and Thonar will be waiting for you outside just as if you killed him in the beginning.
If you have Lucien Lechance out when hunting for Cicero, the apparition will say something along the lines of, "Our Dark Father does not want this".

@@Xippone2093 yes, you never try to summon him before?
For some reason it bothers me when you call Cicero a clown. He's a Jester, damnit...that sounds much more professional!
Hannah Ducharme Jester,Clown,Fool. Means the same but it’s meant as both an insult and title
@@daedricmace919 I am gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Clowns are drama/comedy performers. They are paid to entertain, or it can be used as an insult. Jesters, however, are entirely different. Historically, a jester was a part of the kings court and was there to occasionally make fun of the ruler and help bring him down to earth, to remind that he is only human. They expose the truth through humour. And Cicero is kinda like that. He did show the errors of Astrid's leadership
Jesters are just fools that dropped out of clown school

I spared him because he was at least honest in his ways as far as being loyal to the Dark Brotherhood. Astrid however, screw her lol.

@@AmberTurdsShittyBedsheet I always get an assassin that tries to kill me before I ever join the brotherhood, signed off on by Astrid. She wants the Dragonborn dead from the start, so she’s always dead to me anyway. lol
I firmly disagree on the "Cheating" of using the Ritual Stone to repeatedly resurrect and kill someone for the Ebony Blade. Particularly, I went with Faendal, the elf archer who wants you to gaslight Camilla from the Riverwood Trader to get with her. There's a bit of beauty in this because the Ebony Blade is the artifact of the Daedra Mephala whose spheres include lies, sex, murder, and secrets. Well Faendal wanted me in secret to lie to Camilla about who wrote the letter from the bard Sven in order to have sex with her. So I, in secret, lied to him about being my companion then lied to Mephala about how many of my companions I murdered. Like I've got to imagine Mephala's sitting her web like. "Damn...well played."
Thats when Mephala gathered her lawyers to find a away to close thst loop hole for the future.
Oh really I just killed Lydia, the people you pay to help you and the people you fight to help you aswell as annoying quest-givers

The objectively correct choice.
Cicero is the "purest" character in Skyrim. He doesn't lie, nor does he pretend. He's dead loyal to the Brotherhood's code, even when the guild isn't. The kind of guy to have a few cups of hydromel with
If he wasn't a batshit crazy murderer of course 😀
For me, it'd probably be choosing between stormclouds and imperial. At the end of the day, I chose imperial because they seemed like a more peaceful and organized faction while storm cloaks just seemed a little more violent. I wish you could make the Imperials and storm cloaks friends and together take down the Thalmor.
I would have no problem choosing Imperials if they didn’t have the Thalmor attached to them.
Stormcloaks give me Trump 2020 vibes.
@@TheSugaroreolol right like "Skyrim for the Nord's" isn't that something both bandits and stormcloaks say? But like so many people don't seem to care that Skyrim isn't a sovereign nation and thus the choice of monarch is the empire's Edit: also the thalmor are pretty bad
How are you guys forgetting that the empire literally was gonna execute you??! And don’t give me oh “Ralof didn’t try to save you” yeah what do you think the guards are gonna listen to him saying you aren’t a part of it
Saving Cicero isn't a tough decision at all, Cicero does like you, he's borderline in love with you, and the Brotherhood is very limited since Astrid had all the members killed.
Facts
Cicero likes the listener and probably almost as much as the night mother
He is pretty lethal as a follower too. He will use staffs/staves.
I agree. Cicero is my go-to follower after completing the Dark Brotherhood questline. Granted, his jokes do get old after hearing them for the thousandth time, but he is incredibly loyal and will never betray you (he did turn hostile and attacked me while following me once - he’s essential so I ran like hell - but that was only because I was being stupid and used J’Zargo’s scrolls near Cicero), he levels up with you til 50, and doesn’t give the annoying “You’re not supposed to be in here,” while trespassing (but I’d be the first to point out his hypocrisy if he did). Love him or hate him, you can’t deny how strong and deadly a follower he is.
He was also willing to get rid of Astrid because of her double-sided betrayal. Part of me believes he never cared for Astrid, however. He wouldn't harm the Dragonborn, but wouldn't think twice about getting rid of Astrid lol.
Toughest choice in Skyrim:
Siding with the stormclocks because u like general Tulius’ armour or side with the imperials because u like ulfric’s clothes
Stormclocks lol
@@magentuspriest Imperials lol
Imperial always unless I'm a Nord gotta free Skyrims son's and daughter's
I mean- I gotta side with Imperials
Slight spoilers
Ulfric was a puppet of the thalmor, in the thalmor embassy you can find documents that reveal that he was kidnapped and brainwashed. They let him escape so he would cause a civil war with the Imperials, and if he won, Skyrim would be weakend along with the empire, and making it easier for the Thalmor to take over
@@orphaneater134 wait really I also side with the imperials but I didn't know about this is this actually true
the thing i've always hated with the Forsworn Conspiracy is that the whole faction doesn't become friendly when you side with the King-in-Rags. It would have been much more interesting if you became hostile to the Reach and friendly to the Forsworn, maybe even with the option of doing a mini version of the civil war in the Reach to help the Forsworn rest control of the hold
A thought just occurred regarding the Mistveil quest. There's a chance a NPC called Frighten Woman approaches you and tells you that she was kidnapped and held at Mistveil Tower and asks you to do something about it. So if you spare Fjola, you're basically letting a bandit group get away with crimes. I've agreed to lie to her husband the two times I've ever done this quest and left it at that but that's pretty much done now.

Cicero is almost as strong as like alduin or something
Oops.
Gaming Wolf I think he was my favourite follower, especially on ps3 I just gave him that broken weapon that staggers the enemy whenever you hit them (can’t remember what it’s called)
I killed him in my first play through and that was a mistake
Austin Blochlinger Windshear is the name of that sword ⚔️
I usually spare Cicero, he is by far my favourite character in the entirety of Skyrim. He simply wanted the brotherhood to follow the traditional ways of old and didn’t trust Astrid (which he was right to do anyways.)
AGREED Cicero is literally the most precious character istg
"A dwarf! Cicero saw a dwarf! He did, he did!!!....oh...sorry, no dwarf."
PLS I LOVE THAT MAN
but but funny hat,
@@SaberAlex Pro tip, you can get a hat that looks identical to his hat in the same room you choose to spare/kill him in if I remember correctly.
I don’t think it has the same stats, but it looks the same.
@Fennec Darling THE WAY HE SAYS “ oh sorry no dwarf “ IS JUST ADORABLE
"And the man said, that's not a horker, that's my wife.." lol I died when he said thay
So here's a trick that may work for the ebony blade; if you use a calm spell or voice of the emperor on bandits and then leave, come back, bandits have a positive disposition towards you. Kill the bandits, get 5he buffs. Only reason I think this may work is bandits you do this to, then kill, you get an inheritance letter from them, meaning they must've liked you. Don't know if this works , so I'll have to try it, but I think it's worth a shot lol
for the first quest, I had the awkward situation of the stormckloaks running Markarth so neither the guards nor the forsworn attacked me and I pretty much just stood there and watched not knowing what to do.
Re: the first one, the Forsworn, you can have it both ways to get the armour Madanach gives you and not totally help the Forsworn, either. Just wait till after Madanach gives you the amour, then murder him and his companions to death. Leave the mine and there's Thonar waiting for you.
Or leave madanach (just him) alive so he just gets to the door, shank him while he talks to silver blood, and get the ring, then kill him and his guards, the guy dies and the jarl says how he's sorry that you went to jail for madanachs crimes
In my expirience, Thonar never survives, so he dies like that, and you can kill Madananch during the chaos or after he reach the base. Kill them all seem to be the only correct answer here
@SuperRisingStorm and then eat their corpses. Cause thats what a chaotic evil character does
BUT the people of Markarth still treat you as if you left him alive, so despite getting both rewards you destroy your relationship with everyone.
My favourite solution - work with Madanach then kill them all (yes,
Silverbutt too), then I casually sprint out of the town and let the city
sort it all out. They won't use me again, ha! The Time shout really shines here. (c;
I actually really like the kill madanach option from a story perspective. After Eltrys is assasinated, I fight off as many corrupt city guards as I possibly can like a damn John Rambo but eventually I succumb, not out of fatigue, but from the realization that it’s hopeless to fight agents of a city so deeply corrupted by forsworn. So once I’m in cidnha mine, I kill off every damn one of the forsworn in the joint to prove my innocence and force a corrupt system to collapse in on itself. Pretty cool shit.
I agree with all that, but I let Madanach and his savages escape. I get rid of the corrupt guard and Thomas, then kill the forsworn at Druadach.
@@liamcluett6203 He is talking from the game's own option of killing Madanach rather than having your own narratives which are pretty useless to others
Killing to prove innocence...the ultimate oxy moron
I get both both rewards. Side with the king in rags whilst in the mine, get the armour of the old gods .. kill them all. Get the ring. No one escapes the Dragonborn’s greed
Deciding who to support in the Civil War was easy for me. The Stormcloaks didn't try to kill me. The Empire did. That's something I'm not going to overlook.
And straight up didn’t care that you were innocent. Unforgivable. Unless I’m playing an Imperial or High Elf, always choosing stormcloaks.
@@davidstorm2224 Same. Like Rick Sanchez, I'd tend to take people betraying or trying to kill me personally. That is always how I decide which warring faction to join in an RPG. The side that didn't try to kill me.
@@davidstorm2224 My very first playthrough was Altmer (I thought I wanted to be a mage), and I *still* went Stormcloak because of that (granted, I'd avoided learning anything about the lore up till then, so I didn't know who the Thalmor or the Empire even *were*)
I remember rage quitting during the prison quest, I was so caught off guard by being imprisoned and having that happen and hearing I couldn't leave and I didn't have the means to pick out.
It was just because it was unexpected, so I thought i broke the game after having fought my way out of the city, only to wait and have to fight them again despite having waited a week. I eventually went back and put up with it and realized it was part of the story telling but man.
When Cicero follows you he LOVES YOU wtf are you talking about lol 😂 I love Cicero
Yeah I'd totally love having someone like Cicero around, cause I would most probably be a member of the Brotherhood, and therefore, know that I can trust him to keep me safe. Also he's charming and funny, I don't understand why so many people don't like him. He's like the Joker in Skyrim. :D
I can't stand his voice. It is infuriating.
Simply Human yeah I get that. Idk. not to me ig
Right? The man is literally jumping for joy and clapping when you become the Listener! He wishes it was him, but is so dedicated to the Brotherhood that he is happy as hell that there is a new Listener!
I killed him and happily suffered the consequences
I didn’t even know you could kill Madonach instead of join him.
I always snuck in and attempted to kill with a pickaxe.. that or go werewolf and wait out my transformation so I didnt hurt the other prisoners
Easiest way I found is to just help him until the door to escape to Markarth's streets, let him give you your items, pause and equip crap like Unrelenting Force, Stalhrim armor of Major Knight, and a Legendary Bloodakaal Blade, before murdering them just before they taste freedom.
I just ignore Madonach and Delphine after they order me to kill Paarthurnax. I have played out both sides for almost every turning point decision in the game but not this one. I like pondering "Fus" "Feim" and "Yol". They all give a blessing.
But If will never kill Paarthurnax.
Me neither lol
Yeah, and her reason of ‘because he’s a dragon’ falls flat on its face. He may have been with Alduin ages ago, he was also the one to betray him and teach mankind how to fight back. If there was any time he wanted to conquer the little people, he had a very long time to do so. He’s a pacifist. Made a whole philosophy for it? He was also there for us in our quest pretty much the whole way. The Blades, not so much. We as the Dragonborn also have the same domineering tendencies that dragons do. So what’s to stop us from going on a warpath? Certainly not her. Akatosh is also a dragon, who is pretty well worshiped. So yeah, she’s dumb.
I didn't even try killing the forsworn so I had no idea there was an alternate ending. Goes to show that Skyrim still has some secrets to be found
Literally every single time I’ve played, I went with Madonach, I didn’t think to kill him, figured he was important and never looked it up… but upon escaping I never heard nor saw Thonar Silver-Blood, we all just started escaping through town. The others would fight and leave and I’d just leave usually, after acquiring The Armor of Ye Olde Gods
Bethesda made a though choice not adding callipers......

Madanach : I am leader of the fornsworn.
Dragonborn : Hears voices ( yet another child has prayed to their Mother)

I'm glad you shared the story for the first choice... I messed it up... Much like crossbow bolts and accidentally siding with the vampires, I accidentally got blacklisted out of Myrkarth as well by butchering that quest. When the guards told me I was arrested, I'd recently read the waiting screen comment about how jail time will ruin your skills, so I wasn't having that! Killed my way out of the city, barely since I was low level. Only visited once since, found out the Jarl and a few others can't be killed and just have to be avoided... Filled all my black soul gems too! But alas, beyond being able to finish quests within buildings provided they don't naturally have guards in them - or the Jarl - then it's not ruined the game entirely for me. Thanks to your videos, however, I will eventually be doing a more thorough and accurate play through, with the right kinds of choices being made to have the kind of outcomes I want. There are some places I've found of curiosity that I'm looking forward to watching through your videos to hear your comments on - so thanks for posting them! Glad you're able to make a career out of helping players like myself, win win!

Cicero ain't even the clown in the dark brotherhood, it's Astrid.
If anything, he's the truest of Brothers in the Dark Brotherhood. I, as a Listener, could not have asked for a better Speaker.
To be fair to the Forsworn, the Reach used to be theirs before the Nords conquered it and during the revolt they even treated the Nords equally during their brief rule, even though the Nords had never extended them the same courtesy. And then Ulfric came in and massacred a whole lot of them, radicalizing loads of native Reachman and leading to the modern Forsworn. I'd be pretty pissed too.
One of many reasons to be on the Empire's side.
@@fulliewolfie lol no
Well when the Bear of Markarth demands something of you, “no” is not an answer.
@@fulliewolfie honestly, the empired allowed slavery and genocide as well as invasions of sovereign nations to be conquered, so, is there a good reason to join them?
@@fulliewolfie hard to choose the empire when it’s failing and you know they are being played by the Thalmor. If you side with them you are basically dooming everyone in Skyrim in the long run. Ulfric sucks as a human but most of the Nords are just honest regular people who want to live their lives in peace without being oppressed. I play a particularly twisted dark elf but it’s hard not to still side with the people who want freedom. I would beat the Empire then kill Ulfric if it was an option. I'm not gonna lie I didn't even know you could kill Madanach till I watched this video, I always helped him
1st one: After hearing the stories of your fellow prisioners and after finding out that forsworn were the rulers of "markarth" (they were there first then the nords came kicked the forsworn out and claimed that land for themselves thus creating markarth as we know it today) I decided to help the forsworn. 2nd one: if you summon the spectral assassin he wil say and I quote "I will kill this jester if you so desire, but there is a disturbance in the Void. Our Dread Father does not wish this." so I did not kill him seeing as I was part of the DB (serving sithis) and he did not want cicero to die. 3rd one: found the ebony blade, dont know who to kill yet. 4th one: tell the dude the truth and the kill her. 5th:one f*ck the thalmor. ANOTHER really hard choice for me was to tell the truth or to lie to Narfi, pondered on this for quite some time, ended up telling him the truth, felt like it was the right thing to do, after that I joined the DB and killed him for a quest.

I always thought the answer to the Cicero issue was easy. Looking at the dark brotherhood, he’s really the only person that was there for the right reason. To everyone else it was a job that let them do what they did best and make a lot of coin doing so. Cicero was there to serve the night mother like a good follower and keeper. He may be crazy… but he’s our crazy ❤
