The FAQ clearly states the opposite I'm afraid. Q: Some rules add to or subtract from the damage points allocated by hits from an attack action. In cases like this, does this apply to every hit and every critical hit scored by that attack action? A: No. Where an ability affects critical hits, it will specify this.
If you're hitting on 5s and only 5s then the -1 action ability which otherwise looks excellent starts to look a bit risky. But I guess otherwise it's too powerful (2 dice each with a 1/3 chance of removing an action from an elite would shut down elites down hard)
The Wildercorps have at least 2, maybe 3-4, different directions you could try to build them out in. I don't know if they'll be easy to get the best out of, but I feel like one path or another will have good potential.
People said the same thing about Hunters of Huanchi, and yet, I have won 80% of the 20 + - games I played using them. I've won against Stormcast, against Orruks, and against some of the most nasty Soulblight Gravelords lists possible, so... keep saying that until you've come across them at the other side of table, taking off actions out your models with the dogs out, and doing bonus attacks with those spears ;) I can only see good things here, it could be A LOT worse.

Pretty sure the Dogs double would still trigger of a critical hit. A critical hit is still a hit.
