Greek Dolmades with Avgolemono Sauce - Ντολμάδες με Αυγολέμονο

  • Dolmades is a great appetizer or a regular meal. It can be made with or without meat. In this video I used the following ingredients:
    About 35 grape leaves;
    1 cup of rice;
    1 cup olive oil
    Salt and pepper;
    About a teaspoon of sugar;
    About one cup of parsley;
    Since I didn't have fresh dill I used two tablespoons of my own dry dill;
    Juice of one lemon;
    Four scallions;
    Three medium onions.

    ... i have been looking for a dolma recepi all my adult life which would resemble my youth memory of my first taste of this great appetizer made by greek people who i met in a rose nursery during a summer holiday job when i was 14 years . The taste was amazing, and so much beyond the canned ones i later bought and the many greek restaurant versions i tried over the years in the Netherlands.
    Now at the age of 57 i found your recepi and i presume this is the one i was looking for my whole life. I plan to try your recepi within 2 weeks from now and let you know the outcome ❤ 😀

      How did I miss your comment? Making it is not difficult. If you use leaves that have been brined in vinegar you MUST wash them well with water and then boil them for about a minute.
      Let me know how they come out.

      @@thefigtreeguy coming week i have planned to make your recepi. i will defenitely let you know the outcome. I have tried several recepies before. These all recommended to pre-cook the rice with onions etc. before stuffing the wine leaves and then cook another 45 minutes. To my taste this results in a soggy rice.
      Your recepi uses all stuffing ingredients raw .... when rolling not too tight i think it will be awesome... especially with the sauce, that is new for me.. have a great day ! Eileene 😀

      OMG, i made your recepi tonight, the result was amazing, so delicious and tasteful, and the lemon sauce avgalemone, what a delight.... can't wait how they will taste tomorrow when all ingredients and taste are blended and merged.... and i really enjoyed making these dolmades as your story telling instructions were cristal clear ... 😀
