How to INSTALL DATAPACKS in Minecraft 1.17/1.18 [Tutorial]

- I’ve made lots of #datapacks on my channel, some used by CZcamsrs with millions of subscribers and some even attracted attention from journalists. but I still get people asking me how to install them.
So now I’m going to show you how to install #minecraft datapacks.
Step 1: download a datapack
Here’s my four horsemen of the apocalypse video, like all my videos, the datapack download is in the video description. So click that google drive link, and download the #datapack.
Step 2: scan for viruses
I put my datapacks on google drive because I know it's safe for my subscribers, but unfortunately, many datapack developers will use adfly, where it's easy to accidentally download a virus if you’re not paying attention.
Whenever I download anything from the internet, I always drop it into virus total, a website owned by google which uses over 50 different antivirus programs to confirm the safety of the file. It’s free and you don’t need to sign up.
Also, you can right click the file, and scan it with windows defender.
Step 3: Select your world
Open minecraft, click single player, select the world you want to use, click edit, click “open world folder,” then go into your datapack folder.
Step 4: Move your datapack
Take the .zip file you downloaded earlier and drag it into your world’s datapack folder.
Step 5: Reload your world
Go into your world and type /reload. I know I installed the datapack correctly because I got a guide book.

Great, easy to understand video! Small tip which may not apply to all packs, but some creators accidentally make a double zip, which makes the datapacks not function at all. (I've been guilty of this in the past) Just pop inside the downloaded file and make sure there isn't another .zip file in there.

Thank you! I used to do that as well in some of my earlier datapacks. I try to be more vigilant about it now, but I'm sure it wont be the last time I accidently double zip something.

Can you do a tutorial on how to use blockbench
Possibly at some point down the road. I feel like blockbench already has some amazing tutorials out there that I would struggle to compete with. Legitimoose's blockbench tutorials are super entertaining, comprehensive, and high quality all around. 70%-80% of everything I know about blockbench, I learned from his penguin cannon tutorial. But if I think of some good ways of streamlining the learning process for blockbench, I'd certainly think about revisiting it in the future!

it still doesnt work help. i have tried to install the datapack before the world was created andon an already created world. but it still doesnt work en it says /reload doenst exist. wghat do i do?
Sometimes datapack creators accidently double zip their files. I've been guilty of this in the past as well. Try unzipping the file and seeing if there's an extra folder around the datapack. If there is, remove that extra folder level.
Can u do this on bedrock?

Hey,great tutorial,but when I dowload a data pack,it is in it's winrar books version,and when I try to put it in the world's data pack file,it doesn't work,(this is only for some data packs,for example I am want to dowload a pack named 'ben 10 classic 21 aliens,or your earth hoe data pack,)can you help me?
Sometimes people (myself included with my earlier datapacks) double zip the files. So if you unzip it, click on the folder, and see one folder in that folder, drag that folder into your datapack folder.
I know that sounds confusing, but basically just check to make sure there's not an extra folder layer in the datapack.
@@Whimzee I did that and nothing happened, my datapack still didn't load as a datapack and minecraft didn't register it as a datapack.

Don't worry, I'm fine! I've just been busy lately with real life things. But recently I've been working on a video. After that the next video I release, I plan on working on the next datapack, one item at a time per video so I can respond to community feedback and hopefully make my best datapack yet.

I believe in that case you're playing Bedrock, this tutorial is for Java edition only. I think you're supposed to go through the Minecraft Marketplace? I don't play Bedrock myself, so I'm not really familiar with the process.
