    Personally, I wouldn’t include the road AND the railway. Why not just the railway and fashion some kind of rough looking winding track to take any motor vehicles? That would be more in keeping with the village 'feel'. Too much transportation could (in my humble opinion!) make it more urban looking than it ought to be.

    Once the holidays are over, you can re-utilize that space for an airport! Like, on the long part you can build a runway, and the more wide part would be dedicated to the terminal

  • @csondahill
    @csondahill Před 10 měsíci +32

    You can get the Trolly to go back and forth on a single track with no loop using a colour sensor attached to the powered up hub. Using "Pybricks" you can program a color activated motor direction change. The program will be uploaded into the powered up hub and will run automatically when the hub is switched on, so its set and forget.

    You could move the track back 4 studs to give it more space at the front, and then leave the back of the mountain open so that you could include a hidden scene in the mountain, like the elf one in the Lego House. You could also build the track into the road like real tram lines to save space

    You could put a toy assembly factory under the workshop into the mountain space, kind of like a basement for the elves to work in with different themed areas like a toy making, gift wrapping and maybe even a baking area

    Hi Jordan
    You could think about leaving the roads away. This would give you so much space for other stuff and here in Switzerland in the alps the roads are quite small, one way or not usable with a car.
    I think roads don't have to be the center of your village.
    You could use horse sleights, snow mobiles, pedestrians, etc. instead.

    maybe do away with the road, make it a walking village with courtyards/squares where the village tree can be, and a Christmas Market with shopping stalls, etc. seems like the rather large road is complicating and taking up a lot of space

  • @SubparRobotWars
    @SubparRobotWars Před 10 měsíci +1

    Id put the wood shelf back, have the tram/train oval underneath it with a small station. And build a sloped road from the mountain end up to the woodshelf, making the road go over the track

  • @autreycopeland2541
    @autreycopeland2541 Před 10 měsíci +1

    I would love the trolley to be In the village, but with how much space it takes up now, I think it would do more harm than good. I think the straightaway trolley line by the road would be great, and instead of its giant curve, maybe make a little residential boulevard with the gingerbread house, Santa’s visit and alpine lodge, and maybe it would provide an opportunity or more space to incorporate the home alone set into the residential boulevard, as well as creating a more downtown area of the village with hogssmead and the other city/business building lined up like a strip mall to walk down. It looks great and I’m super excited for whatever you decide on!

    You should definitely have the holiday train and keep the track. Have the tram run along the road and the train run under the mountain. The tram function you need is easy just use a power up set with sensor and the sensor uses colour plates any that you have to change direction. Read up on it. It is very easy to do .

    On Rebrickable there is a 10308 Tram Powered UP Modified with color Sensor by Miro. I used it on mine tram last year and works great to go back and forth stopping how you programmed it. Also love Brick Artisan's MOC's for finishing the buildings, the only one I modified was the fire station to be able to park the fire truck within. Keep up the great work, I look forward to all your videos.

    For the tram/road on the long part of the village, you could embed the tram in the road (like part of the ground line in the main city is) so the tram and cars share roadspace. Would mean using tiles instead of road plates though.

    The train back & forth can be accomplished with an NXT & color sensor. OR
    PF switch & a heavy flywheel geared down to the wheels with enough momentum to flip the switch.
    So, it can be solved many ways. I prefer the mechanical answer.

    If you wanted to make the road smaller and still use the double road plates you could have the snow creep into the street on both sides so it would look like it was plowed just down the middle. That would create more space that the road would otherwise be using and look pretty cool!

  • @tankrunner9298

    Love what you’re doing with this years winter village. One idea for the train is to make it go on top of, or around the mountain, rather than underneath. That way you can watch the train all the time. You could incorporate a train stop for a ski lift or cable car into the mountain as well! Really looking forward to seeing how it all turns out.

  • @danielmee2564

    Hey Bricksie. Nice start with the winter Village. I don't want to critisize anything, cause your ideas are very good. But, when you come down the stairs into your legoroom, do you want to look at the back of your huge Mountain? Maybe it's better to place your Mountain on the other side. It's Just an idea. I have been getting in the holiday spirit too. Bought the Santa's Visit and Main Street during double points. Going to build them in November. Also have the Lego House you pointed out in Billund on back order. Someone pointed out to me that we can actually buy some of those sets in the UK. Not sure if it's always been that way or if Lego have just decided to make some of those sets less exclusive to Billund.

    I caught up on your videos because since August, I didn’t have time to watch them.
    In the video where you modify the pet shop, you talk at the end to leave the signal of the batman on the roof of the police station and to add a batman on another roof.
    I immediately thought of the 77903 set, the one we could have in a comic-con a few years ago.
    It could be nice to add this figurine with the cape floating in the wind
