- I take you through the entire job of replacing the front wheel bearings on a Mk2 Golf. You will need access to a press to remove and install the bearings from the hubs, but a local garage might oblige if you ask them nicely. Do also be aware that there are different sizes of bearings available, so be sure to pick the correct ones for your car.

You can cut slots into the inner race using a grinder cutting disc on opposite sides then you can grab the slots with the legs of a standard gear puller.
I'll keep that in mind next time I'm doing it. Thanks!
Love this. Very entertaining, had me laughing quite a bit. Now to do go out and work on my mk2
I hope your Mk2 tinkering went well! I'm happy to be your inspiration!
great video - bit of UB40 to loosen it up, love it :D
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@Endfloat very useful - rebuilding my mk2 and this is on the list. Off to the garage for this one 😂
@@lukeromeril Yeah it's definitely one you need a little more than just basic hand tools for. Personally, if I had to do it again, I'd probably have a garage do it myself!
My drive shaft spins am I doing something wrong ???
I assume you mean when you're undoing the hub nut? If so, and you've still got the hub attached to the car, put the wheel back on and use the weight of the car to hold the hub steady while you undo the nut. Otherwise use an impact gun.
Hi, good video. Looks like a pig of a job. What impact driver are you using? Im looking for a good diy spec one, for reasonable money.
Mine is a Ryobi one. They've a new brushless one out now that's supposedly a lot better than the brushed one I have.
Think I’ll just buy all new parts and avoid the swearing lol
Fire the parts cannon! 😁😉
