    I like the simplicity of your explanation and especially that you are specifying the torque for each bolt, therefore someone does not need to look further.

    • @OlisGarage
      @OlisGarage  Před 3 lety

      I’m glad you find it useful! I try to keep it as simple as possible. No intro, because who cares. Just an explanation of why, and then how to do it.
      No one ever includes torque information either, which is ridiculous. That’s why I try to include all of that information. Otherwise I set people up for failure if they don’t tighten bolts properly.

    I have a question for you. So if I attempt the washer screwdriver trick my wheel bearings are still loose. I have to actually snug the nut down a fair amount so it’s not loose. I’ve been through 5 sets of wheel bearings. The last time I did them i installed new races into new drums. Let me digress, do you think this is an issue because my axle hub might be worn? The mk3 has 217k mi. Usually get about 500mi before they start becoming loose. I’ve used new spacers as well plus new cotter pins.

    • @OlisGarage
      @OlisGarage  Před 2 lety

      They should be just a tad loose.
      Follow what I did. Put them together, torque them, and then back the nut off just a tad. Then if you wobble the wheel, you’ll feel just a tiny tad of play.
      If you’re going through bearings that quickly, then I’d probably do a whole refresh, stub axles included.

    Both of the cylinders on mine squirt fluid out the sides inside of the drum out from the seals on side. Did I do something wrong or do I just get sent faulty cylinders?

    • @OlisGarage
      @OlisGarage  Před rokem

      To me it sounds like faulty cylinders. There is a seal inside which is supposed to prevent that. Did the cylinder come apart during installation? If it came apart, the seals could've been damaged when you pushed it back together.
      I was a bit worried that I damaged mine since it almost came apart, but still no leaks!

  • @matiasgrecco5586
    @matiasgrecco5586 Před rokem

    Hi. When you remove the cylinder and put the new one you have to change the brake fluid or you already removed before changing. Not sure if I made my point 😂

    • @OlisGarage
      @OlisGarage  Před rokem

      You have to bleed brakes after changing a component to remove any air that was introduced into the system. I have a video on how to bleed brakes.

      @@mahanaimbetel3874 just buy a bunch of metric bolts and you’ll find one that fits. Make sure the bolt isn’t too long and that it bottoms out inside the head though! So measure the length of the bolt hole with a wire and then measure the thickness of the flange. That will give you a good idea of how long the replacement should be.
