    Holy cow. For the money this is incredible. I figured these guys would take it easy on that door but jesus, they got after it. I just bought a house and have been looking at ways to increase security before we move in. I’ll be putting on of those on all of my exterior doors after that.

    I installed this into the doors of my home and I love it. There is an easy way in though. The garage door (next to this door in the vid) is accessible. Just push the top panel in about an inch, then use a straightened coat hangar to pull the trolley rope. Voila, you're in. This is why you should wire the trolley release handle in place.

      What on earth are you talking about? If you see a burglar running down your street with a 4,000 pound battering ram, you might want to call someone. My friend, this product has been available since 2010. At this point it has been tested by everyone imaginable, including countless police and firemen. Let's get a stick of dynamite, grenade or c-4. I bet that would do it. How about a bazooka or rocket launcher? The point is that there is nothing else you can buy for $100 that will give you close to this degree of protection.

      @@alanyoung1478 OK for those who don't get my metaphor about the LAND ROVER right next to the guy trying to kick in a reenforced door - just drive the LAND ROVER into the thin aluminum garage door breaking it down, get out of the vehicle and ransack the place. My point is that a criminal trying to break into a house is not going to whale away on a door if there is an easier way in and quicker. Clear now?

    • @alanyoung1478
      @alanyoung1478 Před 5 lety +1

      In all honesty, people are just not that smart. It actually takes some skill to pick or bump a lock. It takes no skill to kick in a normal door. Take a step back and kick. Easier than learning to pick a lock or understanding the kind of lock that you need to pick.

      You're right that a locksmith could enter in 30 seconds silently. But a common burglary doesn't have those skills and a locksmith earns enough money to not want to risk robbing people's houses. Sure, criminals use locksmiths but for high value robbery like diamonds and banks.

      Not true. Most houses, in the US, have either steel or fiberglass doors. However, this will make a wooden door a lot stronger. Not saying that a really determined thief can't kick a hole in a wooden door eventually (that has happened) but that takes a lot of effort and having a several minutes to get a gun, call police or figure out a plan vs someone being inside in 10 seconds is usually a good thing.
