    I got 2022 black one about month ago. I did only 6kms on it but must say that throttle response and suspension works amazingly good. There is only one problem with this bike : IT'S TOO CHEAP to get one 😉. I'm kidding. Honda did extremely great job. It's real gem 💎 in therms of power, driving fun, off-road abilities and fuel consumption! I switched from CB650R 2020 without any regrets. I was driving a lot of bikes before and every got bad points like too heavy, too much on-road oriented, too much engine problems etc. It's perfect bike for me, I don't need 100hp+ bike now. From You guys I only want "cheaper" barkbusters made for this bike. Not the ugly big, black plastic sheet. Maby short, good looking screen too. OEM one is too big for me after switching from naked bike I don't need any screen. Good luck guys!

    I bought my red CB500X back in 2013 when they were first launched. It's a super bike, does everything takes me everywhere. Fuel economy is great at 85 m.p.g., over 300 miles to a tank and it now has 58,000 miles. I intend keeping it regardless of any new models.

    Getting the red in a few weeks. Wanted the green but it isn't available in my country. Informative review, thanks! I think this bike is perfect for me. Been riding since I was 15, stopped to raise a family when I was 27. Bought a dirt bike when I was 40, didn't enjoy it much. Borrowed my buddy's 1700cc Harley, his 1000cc Agusta, and his 1200Panigale all to see what I wanted. Needless to say they were already too much bike for me at my age. Am now 57 and wanting to ride again. This CB500X is my choice because of comfort, seating position, easy overall riding condition. The open road awaits, no matter what road conditions! Bring it on! Ride safe everyone!😁

    I have 2016 500x. I installed Rally Raid wheels and suspension, steering damper and double take mirrors. I purchased T-Rex skid plate and crash bars as they had better coverage. Corbin seat also. Hand bars to bigger tube bars with risers that came back a little. Used Musko Moto luggage. I set it up the backroad discovery routs which I have riden 7 of them here on west, when roads were not closed for fires. Increased front finder hight and added duel front brakes. Changed tires to more of a road tire and went 6000 mile road trip. I do have an AT also but found I really enjoy the 500x. A month past sold Mt CRF 250l and purchased a 300l Rally for more local use. Had 1200 miles on it and some POS riders on POS Harleys tore it up with hammers which totaled it in a Walmart parking lot when I side. I had full insurance which paid. Cameras caught them and police brought them in. They are to pay. Sure enjoy the 500x and other than normal maintenance no problems.

    I have 2020 model. Got fork Level 1 upgrade. After installing it (follow step by step RR installation guide) there is kind of a rattle sound coming out of the fork every time when I go over man whole or 1-2 inches deep potholes. You have these types of obstacles in every city. I opened up the fork 2 extra times to check it. Everything was the way that supposed to be. Oil and oil level was as needed…..
    6000 miles later (on and off-road) the knocking is still there but kind of half of it compared to the beginning. I heard couple stories like mine….. I guess bad luck……but I still don’t like that sound….
    Great job for the skid plate. Saved me so many times.

I’ve now sold my Africa twin and I’m looking at getting another cb500x I did more miles in the 6 months I had the Cb500x than I’ve done on the Africa in 2 years and I put that down to how light and easy to get it out of the garage . The at is just to big for an every day bike. I love the fuel economy on the 500 and if you change the exhaust they sound so much better. Good fun to ride also.

    Recently bought a grand prix red, 2022 CB500X and just did my first off-roading last night on a gravel forest service road. Based on this review, I was concerned about the front shock but I didn't once bottom out the shock, despite being a big guy (6'-3" and 215 lbs). The stock Dunlop tires aren't great on loose gravel and rocks, but they aren't terrible either, but I will buy some better tires for next season. BTW, the SW Mototech Ion foot pegs are definitely worth the money! I don't love the stock seat, as I feel the need to sit further back for more leg room which results in having to squeeze the tank with my knees to avoid constantly sliding into the tank. I'll likely buy a seat concepts tall seat at some point, which is apparently flatter, or wait for Rally Raid to develop a level 2 kit that will hopefully raise the stock height a couple of inches. In the meantime, I've ordered an Airhawk Dual Sport (small) seat pad that hopefully will help with the constant sliding into the tank.

    Remaining the same is standard Honda since the start of the eighties. St1300s were pretty much the same from inception to end, the GW from 2003 to 2018 and so on. Good bikes, just tweets here and there to freshen them up. I’m thinking about adding one of these to my garage. The updates this year are pretty compelling and the available colors are killer.
    I’ll keep my 2015 Goldwing for a while at least but I have no dirt road aspirations for this. I want to add heated grips, hand guards, GPS, hard Bags and a small travel bag on back. A taller windshield should help with the wind noise and I’ll be set. If it woks as well as I think it will I’ll check here to see how you have modified the front fork before I sell my GW. At 75 the GW is just a lot to push around and the mileage and cheaper riding costs are very attractive.

  • @advchic8567
    @advchic8567 Před 2 lety +5

    You mentioned the foot peg position is not ideal but livable. I guess my body disagrees. I rode a buddies Rally Raid kitted CB500X and that was the one thing that put me off. Old knees and low back... Any plans at all to design or work with someone to lower the pegs? Love the look of this new bike and the improvements Honda made. Could be worth trading the BMW G310GS for to get a little more motor. Have started RR conversion but I am hesitant to upgrade the suspension until I trust the charging system more... Honda reliability. Hmmm.
    thanks for the vids and work towards making the bike for us that no manufacturer will.

      Hello from Canada a well. I want to get one too, and Like Peter V I've watched all videos matching '2022' and 'CB500X' too. It's pathetic how no one will get them dirty and won't go past a flat gravel road. There is Jan 4th 2022 post where the guy pushes the CB500x 2022 up a hill to perform some jumps. That's the only guy pushing the envelope so far. So according to your comments, and in agreement with Peter V, you won't be upset with your purchase because you want to use it 'conservatively', which is what it was designed for, from the factory. My understanding is that Rally Raid products are for those who want to push the limits of a bike, to do more technical stuff (demanding trails). There is a stage 2 suspension upgrade video on a pre-2022 that clearly shows this can be done. It's more demanding on a heavy bike, but feasible. In your case, nothing to worry about... stock form is fine.

    1st report after 1898KM with my red 2022 Mdel
    I long for more suspension travel front and rear. Still adequate on good roads, it quickly reaches its limits on bad roads. She rumbles over the holes.This is my personal opinion. My goal: change the front to 180-200mm and add 50mm of rear travel. So rough direction Transalp.
    The engine also pulls through nicely even in 6th gear from 2500 rpm. The seat is also reupholstered because it is not suitable for long-distance journeys. After 3 hours, the inconvenience slowly starts. I can't get 600km that way.

    Sure the rear shock is pogo stick but at 3:46 is a blatant lie about front forks, probably in regard to buy your shock upgrade in future when you make it available.
    2022 forks are day and night compared to last model. But event comparing to more expensive bikes they hold up very well, even offroad. Only downsight is lack of travel and adjustability.

    • @jutjub22
      @jutjub22 Před rokem

      I agree, but also 19" wheel makes difference. If you compare new forks with 19" wheel to old 17" suspension, it is night and day, everywhere, even on regular road with some potholes. Better rear shock/travel and some more clearance would be great though.
