Jacques Lemaire is one of the most underrated players in the history of the game.
He would have been a great addition to Team Canada 72.
Amen
Mahovlich brilliant mid air tip in
and the play of Lemaire getting to to Mahovlich. A perfect quick pass
No advertisement on the boards is a relief for the eyes.
The ol' Chicago Stadium - WOW! What a place!
Would love to see the complete game 7 of both the quarter final and final show up someday.
my first memories of a Habs Stamley cup win , rookie Dryden in goal , Lafleur not yet there , Mahovlich bros , and i felt sad to see Beliveau retire . THOSE WERE THE DAYS ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
was 9 at the time 😢😢😢
Would love to see more from that era !!! Thanks
Wow ! Beautiful ! Great quality video for 1971 !
Lemaire just casually clappin' it from center ice.
Lemaire and Mahovlich caught bobby orr himself off guard wow!!! Love it
Never, I say NEVER pass the puck/ball/Frisbee/dingdong up the middle from your defensive zone!
McNeil was given a raw deal. He should have been given a new contract to coach them in 71-72. How many coaches come in mid season and won the cup??
Jacques Lemaire's slap shot at 3:48… Wow !
How many times did we see that!!!
The truth be told; Tony Esposito blew it!
The Hawks were done after that goal
@@michaelleroy9281 That goal was the beginning of the end for the Hawks!
@@seveglider8406 Tony O was always a little suspect on long shots he even admitted that himself.
Awesome.
How come Jacques Lemaire’s #25 has never been retired? Eight Stanley Cups.
Yea that is odd I'm not really sure. I know Lemaire gets blamed for Lafleur retiring in 1985 for trying to change his game and make him more defensively responsible (Lafleur would have none of it that late in his career) I wonder if Lemaire has a strained relationship with the Habs in general.
Lemaire played in 3 Game 7s during his career -- all wins, in which he scored 7 points. In all, he had 139 points in 145 postseason games.
Ken Dryden noted in his book "The Game" that Lemaire was acknowledged as the team's "big-game player."
It is symbolic that it was the Pocket Rocket that solved the dispute. No Gretzky can understand what it means to win the Stanley Cup when there are only six teams against you, staffed by super professionals.
Slav has the perfect number wearing 20
I must admit as a kid I thought the Bruins would take the habs in 6 games. Orr Esposito cheevers and the others under estimated the habs.
Im looking for that game in french, may 4 1971. Is there any place where I can find it ?
What is your nationality? What language do you speak?
Canadian, french.
@@corolere But you speak English now
@@user-cx8ho8oc1g I write in english cause the video is in english and you dont seems To know about Canada as a bilingual country which also have any hockey match in french they were both recorded at tne same time with a different narrator. Which language do you think Jacques Lemaire or Richard speak ? 😆🤣
If so you should ask uploader his nationality first.
What's this about Gretzky never touching the puck if Orr is out there? PUHHLEEEEASE!
never would
Cheevers - one of the finest pylons hockey has known and ORR one of the finest passers to the opposition the world has known. Orr is known in Canada NOT as a hockey hero but as a political embarrassment, by supporting DONALD TRUMP - UGH!
Orr can support whoever he likes 👍 🏒
Orr made most canadien players look silly when he passed all of them on a rush. i suppose you prefer a shithead like Biden to Trump
Stick to hockey there are many political blogs for you to bitch at.
Yes he can, but then he can expect the "blowback" that comes with that. Better just to stay quiet.@@MapleSyrupPoet
