And so began the patrice brisebois Era in montreal
Bob Cole Forever!!!
Before they traded Lefebvre, the beginning of the Jabs quality steady Dmen. Beauchemin was given away too before he had a chance.
Thank you!!! My first NHL game!!!
Clint's memoir is a really good read, would recommend it to anyone.
But hey . Lets just appreciate that goal !
Demers didn't wanna let him go but .... he wasn't producing.. the fact that Savard had to throw in Dejardins tells u how much his stock had fallen . Little side story ,my friend is a die hard Flyers fan and the next day i asked him . " whsttya think ?" He believed his team got fleeced . I said are u kidding , he'll most lickly be on a line with Lindros .
He was more excited about being closer to Goose Loonies than he was playing for the Oilers
Oilers are the best team for a 2nd chance.
McNeil was given a raw deal. He should have been given a new contract to coach them in 71-72. How many coaches come in mid season and won the cup??
I worked with Darren's Dad Jerry at a Bells Corners Ontario trophy shop. He was a heck of a good guy.
Second worst trade the Habs ever made. We all know the first.
Kordic for Courtnall?
I think you are right - I thought initially that the Carbonneau trade was even worse, but with Desjardins in the mix ya just plain horrible
@@steveshutt6409that was one of the best that Habs made. Kordic for Courtnall that is . Also Muller for Richer wasn't bad . My fav. Is when he picked up Bobby Smith..
Another in a long line of great players the Habs foolishly traded away.
Montreal made a huge mistake in trading him. Recchi was a really good player but not worth trading Leclair, Dionne & Desjardine for.
On se souvient de lui a Montréal pour ses 2 buts en prolongation à Los Angeles 😅
93 quelle Ann`ee pour la ville de Montreal. Bonne souvenirs pour moi .
the blonde wearing the yellow blouse
Hunter and Hextall. Two skumbags.
Savards cross check was probably in retaliation for something Clark did earlier. Both were dirty players but Clark moreso.
Nice to see a younger looking Beliveau stepping up to accept the cup. He was a towering presence. I was too young to remember 1969 but close. I remember the magic run in 1971 when Beliveau collected his last cup.
He won a Cup his 1st season in Edmonton, and scored the overtime winning goal in Game 1 of the finals
They would not have won that Cup in Quebec. No chance would the Habs have traded Roy to the Nords.
Be great if someone could translate some of this to English... especially the Odelein goal. My thanks in advance.
The announcers sound like they had some cognac before/during the game. Too funny. "Hé, on fait la fête ici !!" Nice goal by Lyle Odelein @4:38... LYLE ORR!!
Le Nordiques
Stop living in the past This franchise has been destroyed by inept owners and poor management
Habs had a good run 86 to 93.. 86 and 93 , Champs.. 87 conference, 89 finals.
The guy never back up before anyone.
1996-2024
Boy, were the goalies crappy in those days
Bruins fan fucking hate you motherfuckers but you have the best uniforms. Love Guy and Jean. Respect your big 3 on D.
Habs should have drafted him in 1980. From Montreal, played his junior hockey at the Forum. Having a centre of Savard's calibre may have extended Lafleur's really good years.
i am so jealous of the kids and young adults who got to live in the 90's. no phones. people are happy. their style was super cool too.
thx, good stuff!!
Awesome.
That’s awesome! Love it
3:00 Similaire au but de Lafleur en demi-finale (1979)
SAvard was the one who caused the winning goal when he stopped the puck and sent it back up. Good old days.
No advertisement on the boards is a relief for the eyes.
Claude Quenneville ne l'avait pas pantoute pour cette partie !
Habs' Management and President lost their minds when they traded Roy and the Carbonneau, killed the team
Lot of comments of "they wouldn't have won in Quebec because Montreal traded them Roy." But in a weird way, they don't win UNLESS they started out in Quebec because if they'd been owned by anybody other than Marcel Aubut, Lindros just shows up and plays & the harvest of draft picks never arrives.
If Quebec ever gets a team back that'll be the number of sponsors that will be on the boards.
This looks like pond hockey compared to today's game
He got his when he messed with Larry Robinson.
A dangerous stick in the face by Baxter, I recall Nilan with a stick in the face of Middleton.
0:46 looks like Jeff Gordon
Unbelievable. GO JETS GO
They are now moving to Salt Lake City🥲
It's how he coaches now 😡
Lemaire just casually clappin' it from center ice.
