    This week I show you how to create a batik look on rice paper using string gel. Get amazing layers both clear and opaque and layer this paper over a colorful background painting. This is one of my Faux Encaustic techniques using acrylics.

      @@SandraDuranWilson I add a little color to it and let it make random designs off my palette knife

      @@AngelaJonesPoetryStoriesArt yes that one is fun as well. Try dribbling it over a stencil as well. Just remember to clean your stencil off quickly.

    You referenced rice paper and I went to look up rice paper and went down a rabbit hole... What type of rice paper is best for this sort of project? Have you done an episode on types of rice paper?

    Would it work on deli paper?

      The deli paper will not be as clear. You will get an effect, just not as clear.
