- Hey Guys, Today we went out into the woods and tested out the cold steel jungle machete. Overall pretty good for the money. However serious modification to the handle is recommended.

Hard to go wrong with a Cold Steel Machete with the 1055 carbon blade steel the use ,they also make excellent defense items against animals out in the wild.😊
The cold steel machetes are an excellent bang for the buck , the plastic handles are extremely durable and fit well in the hand. Their powder coating is also excellent.

JoeX model was the original one which was made in SouthAfrica.
Mine i got recently origins also from china.
I wonder if there is a major diffenence in hardening specs, the RSA ones were superior.
your right the handel is bad, very bad. Without a lanyard it is impossible to keep grip on it when working. Your model looks as if there is a finer finish on the bevel in comparison to mine which is complete rough grinded. I consider a regrind with a lesser angle specially for making curles.
Price in Europe about 42€ at the moment.

They're being made in China now ,Wow what gives, it did perform very well ,and if it's still 1055c it should be okay. 🦉

@@powerplay4real174it's 1065 and I personally think that it is a better steel it doesn't roll as easily and comes with a better edge wasn't sure how I was going to feel about them being made in China and the new steel but apparently it's Superior
It was the same with CS Heavy Machete. I had one made in SA and it was awesome. I moved out of the country so I gave it to my friend. Later on I got a new replacement and it was made in China its dead now. I got a nepalese kukri.
