7:16 In my area (Houston, Texas) it’s the Chinese Tallow tree. They grow pretty large and reproduce like weeds! They drop dozens and dozens of these seed berries every year and they sprout new trees. If you don’t cut them when they’re small, they grow very large (about 30’ or more) and their roots seek out your water pipes.
Dig it. Seems like the weight forces your hand to lock in. Dont get me wrong,im a tramontina guy through and through but i think i may give it ago and pick one up you tree murder! Lol
Another good one man. Iv got the barong it's my third favorite in the woods knife. Be hind ontario 18 field knife and the imacasa 443. And the edge rolling is cuz the edge got a bit to hot sharpin it down good get rid of the bad steel it should not happen again
Awesome review. Did the Tramontinas edge roll when you hit fatwood? From what I remember, I don’t think so. Cold Steel aren’t a bad machete. I want to get the Cold Steel Chinese War Sword for a bit of fun. I already have their Thai Machete. That’s cool to use. Not practical but cool. Mall ninja stuff.😉
I got one and the edge was very terrible, 1 side was like 30degree and the other like 15degress spent 2 or more hours reprofiling the whole edge slowly and now it finally can shave and flows smoothly through paper. Awesome machete, terrible QC, the heat treatment seems very good tho, my standard file was not enough for it.
Hey man! So I did some experimenting and did a saber grind on my jungle machete. It's about 10° primary bevel with about a 30° micro bevel and man it's way better now. Bites deeper with less effort and don't glance like the thick convex from the factory did. Also left about 2" near the handle like a scandi for shaving/carving and 90° spine for scraping.
Ya buddy! Got a machete fer ya to try there’s a store in Canada called “hero outdoors” in Oshawa . They have a machete made in Guatemala, $10 Canadian pesos. So like $6 US dollars. 22” Latin. Bought one today 😊. It’s seems Skookum as frig…!

Getting warm out, all that green to cut
Damn right!
Chanterelles in spring!? That's cool! If you get a bunch, try pickling some. I'm headed bear hunting in 2 weeks and hope to find a plethora of Morels👍
Pickled chanterelles!!! I’m all over that!

The tramontina was still able to cut paper after fat wood! Cold steel are fun as hell though. That Chinese sword is pretty cool ! 😎

Yeah I got 2 of these, the first one was real sharp out the box, the other one still had a small burr on the edge.
I would imagine it was the burr that did this one in. I’ll have to revisit it after I put MY kinda edge on it!
Yup we'll have to see if it's a certified fatwood killer haha

@@soloproject99 you may have to call the store because I don’t think they put these online.
@@jonathonodonnell253 I will do
It is a quick-draw sheath if you put it on the other hip you're meant to cross draw it
And that’s why I NEED these comments! Thanks brother!
Actually, getting a good look at the sheath would be nice.

So not the Clint Eastwood quick draw of machetes.
Better for self defense against bothersome plants, but not so much the aggressive animal?
Not fond of the handle material that cold steel uses on those but they arent bad.
It’s a bit slick in the hand.
Hmm 🤔 ever use a gravat
Enjoy your video's , but machete's not made for fat wood
Well, thank you for being here! I really appreciate it. I know machetes aren’t for fatwood, but I like to see just how hard they can go.😂
