All of those are excellent ideas. But, there is a VERY important one you’ve missed: shower handle grab bars mounted INSIDE the shower.
However if you’re like me, I live in a rental so mounting permanent bars into the shower tile isn’t an option.
The solution for me has been grab bars with suction cups. It may sound funky, but they work great! There is a lever for each of the two suction cups which makes mounting on the tile walls easy. The bars feel very secure, but just to be prudent I’ll test them first thing each time I step into the shower.
The shower handle grab bars are on Amazon: a set of 2 bars is $27. I’ve had them for a few years and am extremely happy with them.

I really enjoyed this video, especially the non-invasive use of technology to help a grandparent or disabled person! I'm questioning the use of a bathroom runner, since it can harbor hidden mold & become a tripping hazard, but I can see how a grippy carpet bottom & non-absorbent materials could make it an improvement.

Why not a support bar inside the shower space? Why not show the Walabot working rather than just how to install it?
