Reason your cheap stud finder didn't find the stud: If you _start_ on a stud (or noggin) it won't find anything. If it's not finding anything, start it up again in a different area and try again.

Yep... that's exactly the way I've done it for years... The trick though is to get those screws set to the perfect depth. His was way too long. You need to screw them in just far enough so that when you slide the strip to the left or right its really snug. Otherwise heat/thaw cycles will eventually have the strip works its way loose. Yep had that happen.

I'm a small, local real estate investor. If I could use this and get a bathroom and kitchen done in a couple of hours rather than paying a crew of drywallers to do all that with drywall over 3 or 4 times the hours and total number of days, that would save me a LOT of money. I'm definitely keeping this in my back packet for future renos.

No mention of cleaning the (electric) heating elements at all?? I've found cleaning the limescale buildup off of them is just as important as flushing the hot water heater tank once per year... ...and my anode rod is still good after 14 years, at least (as is the hot water heater), but getting the two (2) feet of limescale buildup from out of the bottom of the tank wasn't fun (once I realized why my hot water was running out too fast)! 🤣👍

I worked for an old man as his apprentice electrician an learned this... 1st one is common. Labeling is important. 2nd on yes i heard of that. 3rd is common sense. 4th yes, hes right 5th one yes, everything should be grounded. 6th yes if u have extra holes us them. Dont double lap 7th yes label wires that arent wat they seem if its hot it needs to be labeled. 8 i wouldnt do it u can jus buy a breaker that come in a 2 for 1 i call it a dual breaker idk how they pronounce it. 9 yeah fill in any open slots 10 is common sense

  • @doomsdayx7893

    * You're certainly no electrician! (1) Lever nuts are bulky, expensive, and dangerous as hell, as and provide practically no surface area contact, pressure, or nearly the strong secure connection of wire nuts. "Easy" is almost always bad! (2) If you like burning houses down just twist wires together and heat shrink over them. Resistance=heat! Your "knot" ... ha ha .. will quickly fail, if it can even possibly work for a minute, and will heat to a fire hazard! Gerrymandered home repairs like yours are responsible for innumerable bad connections that start fires. Horrible Communist Chinese plastic heat shrink is not UL approved or legal, nor does it provide adequate protection for a bare wire connection. Like all Chinese Communist plastic (Amazon) crap, it will decompose, become brittle, and fall apart in no time. Solder and apply UL approved insulation, or employ properly crimped (Thomas & Betts WT111M Plier Type Crimping Tool) marine-grade insulated butt connectors. Heed the warnings from the actual electrician(s) commenting on this video. The INTERNET: where anyone can gain a platform to say anything, no matter how ignorant, reckless, absurd, or dangerous, worst of all ANONYMOUSLY, destroying all standardized, centralized, vetted information, driving civilization into ruin and regressive abyss !!! Ignorant people destroy worlds and think they did good! The INTERNET, insures that billions participate in this off-hand 24/7 pastime! Just watch Project Farm, where the goofy kid, screaming into his camera from his OSB garage, professes to be expert on every technical item know to humanity, and everything from nuclear chemistry to aerospace engineering, though he's never had a profession or education !!! HE'S INVARIABLE WRONG, BUT HOW DOES ONE UNDO THE WIDESPREAD INFECTION??? I wonder if he can advise me on my upcoming brain surgery !!!

Interesting idea. I’d maybe consider using it in a garage, even with the important caveats people provide in the comments here. Material science has really blown up the last decade or two.
