45 years of mechanic'n before meeting 'triple square' hardware on the 2012 Jetta in our stable.
I had a '92 VW Golf. I got it from a buddy who said the motor was locked up. Under closer investigation it was the starter.
The starter was used as a motor mount.
Had to put the car on jack stands. Then jack the engine up to get the starter out.
Drove the shit out of that whacky wabbit for 3 years. Until the rear strut mounts rotted out and she became a a low rider...
Unt ✋️
Quite the puzzle for sure! Great work as always and hope your dad's celebration of life goes well. See ya next time and thanks for all you do!
thank you! cheers 🍻
Good ole TFSI and plastic cooling system components.... Water pump is a pain but VW is pretty generous with the labor so it's easy to beat the flat rate time by at least an hour and make a little gravy pay for the headache. We always do the cog belt with it, nothing like having a car come back on a hook because the new pump stopped spinning 2 weeks later.
Nice one!
Enjoyed the content.
Pete you could work for jaguar Range Rover, Looks like VW hired engineers from us.😅
If my daughter needs service on her VW Tiguan I will be sure to send her your way Pete. lol.

GM trucks are known for the green death in the bottom of the fuse box. Pull it out, clean it. Might get a couple more years. Could replace it but the rust makes it financially a bad move. The frame probably only has a couple years and it will be in the crusher.
Another good one ! Cheers 🍺
Thank you! Cheers!🍻

❤❤❤
Been there done that good ole starter under the intake lol
Must have missed a vid somewhere. Sorry to hear about your pops, brutha. Celebration of life is the way to go, in my humble opinion.
In other news, Volks are indeed the devil.
Another great vid, as always.
thank you! 🍻
Pete you need to leave a link to your merch store in the description.
cheers
Some toyota engines have the starter under the intake. Caddy starter is pretty easy.
Had to stop and watch when I see that beautiful lady in the background!!!!!
VW shall I say more.
Wow what a job. I hope you got payed and did not do that for a favor. While you were in there you should’ve changed that belt too. Good job👍
Damn Germans and their engineering!!!
Over engineering....
They find the most complicated way to do something that should be cave man simple.
I almost bought a caddy the radiator was 2 grand, and that was years ago
I believe nissan titan has the starter under the intake
04-15
Holy shit I will never own a VW
The packing better be good for the price it ships to the states.
You should try a headband light.
yeah could be handy 🍻
Ahhh, remember the days when you could swap out a water pump in 25 minutes......

Northstar leaks more oil than a old Detroit diesel
Why do you have to change the oil pump in that car
It was water pump not oil pump!
Those 2 liter turbo vws are junk tell him to trade it in quick!
Put a catch can
not a bad idea right there! 🍻
Just gonna stick with the ol' dodge I think eh lol
lol 🍻
You laughed a lot but an uncomfortable laugh
Why did it cost so much to change my water pump? Sigh😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
haha exactly! 🤣🍻
I still don’t think that’s your girlfriend!
🤣 🍻
Note to self…..never ever buy a volkswagon ,!
Hurry up and get the golf cart done and yomama done
Toyota have internal water pump u have to change timing belt when u change the water pump
Ford did it as well, in with the timing chain. The pinnical of egineering.
Rare to have toyota water pump go before it's time to change the belt, then while you got it all apart, replace everything . Sucks to tear it apart , change the belt then tear it apart to do the pump then tear it apart to change the tensioner and so on
