      the minecraft world used to be 2,147,483,648 meters, the maximum 32-bit graphical processor limit (because one minecraft block is equal to 1m^3). now it's around 30,000,000,000 meters or 30 gigameters, the size of neptune.
      (edit: may have done the math wrong since i'm making neptune the density of earth and you can't stop me)

    About the Minecraft World... yes it is true that it's approximately the size of Neptune. Its surface area is 3,6 quadrillion square metres, Neptune's is 7,6 quadrillion square metres. MInecraft is still smaller but it's still very big

    I went on the site to look at this out of curiosity and it absolutely blew my fucking mind, I was just sitting at my desk at amazement reading everything, from just a small Proton to the absolutely massive Sloan Great Wall. I knew that we were small in the Universe but the presentation really helped me put things into perspective of how small we really are compared to just the observable universe, who knows what giants there are for us to discover later on.

    Black holes aren't the singularity, they are the whole region of space where the acceleration is >= the speed of light, and even the singularity can theoretically be big in the case of ring singularities (at least for the size of the circle, not the width of the line).

    I've been really into the solar system, black holes, etc. etc. and the more I learn the more my brain gets scrambled. Of course the sheer size of the ever expanding universe is awe inspiring, its incredible but seeing these tiny, fucking tiny little things is just as incredible when put into perspective. You hear someone say "oh this thing is small" and you think "small" but this really shows you that these things are *SMALL*.. And also *BIG*

    Oh this thing! I first saw it linked from a Vsauce video. I love this kind of stuff. :) There's even a game on Kongregate based off of it in which you start off as quantum foam and eventually upgrade to the whole universe. This thing is what caused me to look up exotically huge/small units of measurement for the first time, too, such as "yoctometers".

    In my infinite ignorance, I wonder if black hole singularities are matter converted to pure energy, so that they can be so small. It seems impossible to squeeze something as massive as a star into a Planck length unless it's in an equivalent energy form. As far as I know, energy doesn't have a gravitational pull, so I wouldn't have any idea how to reconcile that.

    Does that mean that Planck length can't be actually measured(even though it's called "length", implying two points with distance between) since it can't be divided into further measurable parts? Or Planck length is not actually "length", but a state of space itself no longer able to accommodate for its own volume?

    In the old versions of minecraft, the world generated from -12,500,000 X to 12,500,000X by -12,500,000 z to 12,500,000 z, new iterations go from -30,000,000 to 30,000,000 X znd z. Those are 1 meter blocks.
